In 2012 the Department of Homeland Security stated that it would not deport many undocumented children that came to the United States. They were going to be granted temporary permission or deferred action under a Obama program called DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). This program was created by an Presidential Executive Order. From the get go, this order was not legal. Under DACA, you can renew there applications, and thereby remain in the United States basically illegally indefinitely. More than 800,000 young people benefit from DACA. Under this program, they have no route to citizenship. They however, do pay taxes, but because they are undocumented, they are not eligible for Social Security benefits, college financial aid, or food stamps or other federal benefits. Frankly I don’t see the problem with DACA people, they pay taxes, but can’t drain money from our welfair systems. I understand they became limited citizens through a illegal loop hole, but they pay taxes. With all the problems this country has, I don’t feel that this a wise use of our resources trying to repeal an executive order that has no real negative effect on our country. This is one time that I don’t agree with President Trump. Instead of repealing this program, make changes give them a chance to become legal citizens. They are here from no choice of their own. Since they were children when they came here, they have no place to go back to if they were deported. They have been here 8 years, if the had come to the country via a more traditional route, they would most probably already be citizens.
