If We Were at War, Governor Cuomo and Several Other Governors Would be Charged With War Crimes

I know the actions Of Cuomo and several other governors late March is not new, it has however been bothering me for quite some time. The more time that goes by, the more it seems that they will get away with it. So, I guess it is my turn to start the outcry again, in my own unique way. Well here goes nothing. The Governors of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan forced nursing homes to take positive Covid patients. They were not given any PPE, they were not given any guidelines and training on how to care for these patients. As a result thousands of senior citizens died unnecessarily in these states. If we were at war and the enemy knowingly placed contagious prisoners with healthy prisoners and thousands of them died as a result, that country would be guilty of war crimes. They would be guilty because it would be just like putting a bullet in the head of a helpless, unarmed soldier. This is against the Geneva Convention. Enemy Countries treat there prisoners better than we treat our own elderly. Have any charges been made towards these governors? The answer is no. But we are charging the coos in Atlanta with murder. The only difference is, the killing in Atlanta only involved 1 black person and was justified, while these governors were responsible for thousands of elderly and was not justifiable. There is something unfair about these inequities and a major miscarriage of justice is occurring here. I can only hope that justice will eventually be served.

How many patients were sent to nursing homes in each state? Or were they already nursing home patients? The numbers are confusing.

  It didn’t tske that many positive people to infect the elderly populations of the nursing homes. We will probably never know how many were sent back. I know the hospitals were overflowing, and these patients were recovering, but they were still contagious. There were emergency facilities already in place in NYC. They could have been sent there. All I know is that things could have been handled better. There also doesn’t seem to be any effort being made to investigate it, for criminal misconduct.

    Are nursing homes considered a medical facility? Are they regulated? Do they have board certified doctors and nurses has part of the staff?

    There are different levels of care provided for elderly, handicapped or chronic tracheostomy and peg tube patients. You have some facilities that provide 3 squares and a cot, so to speak. These are not considered a medical facility. The next level is the true nursing home, they can provided oxygen support, and do Subquetaneous and intramuscular injections. Also they can give bolus tube feeding in peg tubes and crush pills and administer them that way as well. They are medical facilities and are licensed and have to pass JACHO inspections for accreditation. There are rehabilitation families that provide in-patient and out-patient care. There are LTAC or long term acute care facilities, they can do a lot of what a hospital does, but for chronic patients or patients that require non critical acute long term care. Plus some facilities provide a combination of all these services. The facilities affected by covid were, as I understand the general nursing home. They would totally unprepared to handle contagious patients. Those patients should be sent to a hospital.

  I have never seen actual numbers. My best estimate would be in the hundreds. There were several facilities affected in each state.
