I have written several articles law enforcement. A list of links have been provided at bottom of this article for your convenience. This article will, however address different aspects on Law Enforcement.
In Article II, Section 2 the President is given the power of Pardon. “The President shall have power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for ‘Federal’ offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.”
Here is a list of the last five presidents and how many Pardons they granted: George H. W. Bush, 77; Bill Clinton, 459; George W. Bush, 200; Barack Obama, 1,927; Donald Trump, 36. FDR 3,796.
Many of the previous presidents pardoned over a 1,000 people, FDR holds the record, though he did serve one more term than any other president. He was elected for a fourth term, but died before he could serve it.
So, the 36 Pardons granted by President Trump is a mere drop in the bucket. Granted this is still his 1st term as President. Now Congress wants to curb his power to grant pardons. They say he is abusing the power. I guess they forgot about all the convicted terrorists Obama pardoned, and all the friends and business associates Clinton pardoned. This is just another example of how much the Left hates President Trump.
