I have written several articles on postings related to politics. A list of links have been provided at bottom of this article for your convenience. This article will, however address different aspects on these political events.

The Democrats, their dishonest Big Media and Big Tech, and their ‘fact checkers’ claim the intrusion into the Capitol on January 6th was an ‘armed insurrection’.  To date, there is absolutely no evidence that this was the case.

When this occurs the fake ‘fact checkers’ come in and ‘analyze’ the story and nearly always side with the left.  Facts can be clear but the interpretation is almost always not right – it’s left. The events at the capitol on January 6th are a great example of this.  Early on there were claims of an “armed insurrection” into the Capitol.  But recently some individuals have challenged this claim.

Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin made this statement in early February:

The fact of the matter is this didn’t seem like an armed insurrection to me. I mean armed, when you hear armed, don’t you think of firearms?” Johnson said. “Here’s the questions I would have liked to ask. How many firearms were confiscated? How many shots were fired? I’m only aware of one, and I’ll defend that law enforcement officer for taking that shot.”

Immediately the fact-checkers came to the rescue.  Politifact may have been the first.  They claimed the following:

Five people died Jan. 6, 2021, including a U.S. Capitol Police officer, when a mob violently invaded the U.S. Capitol in protest of the November 2020 election results.

Few arrests were made that day, but our understanding of the day’s events and the rioters’ motivations has grown over time, as more than 230 people have now been identified and charged, according to a database maintained by National Public Radio….

…Johnson prefaced this comment by claiming that Democrats are painting a picture of every Trump voter being a violent rioter. Certainly not everyone in the crowd was armed. And many clearly came intending only to peacefully protest.

But claiming this was not an armed insurrection goes well behind this line of thinking.

Many in the crowd attacking the Capitol have said their intent was to stop the vote confirmation and keep Trump in office despite the election results. That’s an insurrection.

That leaves us with his objection to the word “armed.”

Yes, carrying a gun would constitute being armed. But the definition of the word is much more broad, referring simply to carrying a weapon. So the question is whether this insurrection involved people carrying weapons.

Let’s look at these claims briefly by the ‘fact checker’ Politifact:

1 “Five people died Jan. 6, 2021” – this is not true.  Four Trump supporters died that day.  At least one, Ashli Babbitt, was reportedly killed by gunfire from someone working at the Capitol (outrageously we still don’t know who that shooter was).  But there were only four deaths reported that day at the Capitol.  Claiming there were five deaths that day is categorically false.  This is not true.  In contracts, fraud often negates an entire contract, when a ‘fact checker’ lies in their first sentence they should be held to the same degree of scrutiny.

2 Politifact claims, ” Many in the crowd attacking the Capitol have said their intent was to stop the vote confirmation and keep Trump in office” without naming or quoting a single individual.  Where is their support for this?

3 Thirdly, Politifact claims “carrying a gun would constitute being armed. But the definition of the word is much broader, referring simply to carrying a weapon.”  This is a great example of a ‘fact checker’ stretching the truth and making a claim to help support the left’s position.  Nowhere in common US language would the statement that someone was armed mean anything other than carrying a gun.

In the manuscript “Characteristics of The Armed Individual” created by the USSS (US Secret Service) on their first page, they note the word gun twice in the first few paragraphs.  They don’t say knife, rope, or lead pipe, they state ‘gun’.  To suggest the word ‘armed’ in America means something other than related to a gun is ludicrous and not applicable to the USA:

Julie Kelly at American Greatness also attacked this fake ‘fact checker’ line of thinking.  In her article Kelly writes after looking over the arrests from that day:

So, as Joe Biden likes to say, let’s be clear: Not one person has been charged with possessing or using a gun inside the Capitol. Further, no one has been identified as carrying a gun inside the building. Of the hundreds of photographs posted on the FBIs Most Wanted List for the Capitol breach investigation, not a single picture shows anyone with a firearm.

Only one defendant had a handgun on his person outside the building hours after the “insurrection” ended. The other defendant had two guns on his person but investigators don’t allege he was inside the Capitol on January 6.

At least 100,000 attended Trump’s speech that day; fewer than 1,000 “stormed” the Capitol. A few hundred have been arrested and only 14 face weapons charges. Those “deadly and dangerous” weapons include two baseball bats, a can of pepper spray, a walking stick/stun gun, an axe, a few fire extinguishers (one in question), a helmet, a riot shield, and a collapsible baton. And at no time did this random weaponry pose a lethal threat to lawmakers inside the Capitol.

This one is clear.  In regards to the claim that there were ‘armed’ individuals inside the Capitol on January 6th:

Here is excerpts of president Trump’s January 6 speech . I will include the full transcript in the addendum section, so that interested readers can make their own judgment about the intention meaning and reasonable and likely interpretations of president’s words. You may want to read it yourself since the president was impeached it was used as an Exhibit by both parties in determining whether Trump incited a coup.

In the remainder of this post, I am going to pick out some things from his speech to draw your attention to. (Paragraph breaks are somewhat arbitrary since this is the president speaking.)

All of us here today do not want to see our election victory stolen by emboldened radical left Democrats, which is what they’re doing and stolen by the fake news media. That’s what they’ve done and what they’re doing. We will never give up. We will never concede, it doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved.

Our country has had enough. We will not take it anymore and that’s what this is all about. To use a favorite term that all of you people really came up with, we will stop the steal. Today I will lay out just some of the evidence proving that we won this election, and we won it by a landslide. This was not a close election. I say sometimes jokingly, but there’s no joke about it, I’ve been in two elections. I won them both and the second one, I won much bigger than the first. Almost 75 million people voted for our campaign, the most of any incumbent president by far in the history of our country, 12 million more people than four years ago. I was told by the real pollsters; we do have real pollsters. They know that we were going to do well, and we were going to win. What I was told, if I went from 63 million, which we had four years ago to 66 million, there was no chance of losing. Well, we didn’t go to 66. We went to 75 million and they say we lost. We didn’t lose.

The president says the election was “stolen.” However, all is not lost as “we will stop the steal.” Sorry to be dogmatic, but notice the tenses. This is an action the speaker and listeners will be performing together to right an injustice committed against them by others in the past. Contrast this with the other option of resignation to the results even if one considers them unfair.

Trump continues, giving his approval of Giuliani’s speech:

Thank you. I’d love to have, if those tens of thousands of people would be allowed, the military, the secret service, and we want to thank you, and the police law enforcement. Great. You’re doing a great job, but I’d love it if they could be allowed to come up here with us. Is that possible? Can you just let them come up, please? Rudy, you did a great job. He’s got guts. You know what? He’s got guts, unlike a lot of people in the Republican party. He’s got guts, he fights. He fights, and I’ll tell you.

Thank you very much, John [Eastman]. [Vik: Eastman, incidentally, is the constitutional scholar who said Kamala Harris was not eligible to serve as VP because her parents were immigrants, a position floated by Trump as well.] Fantastic job. I watched. That’s a tough act to follow, those two. John is one of the most brilliant lawyers in the country, and he looked at this and he said, ” What an absolute disgrace, that this could be happening to our constitution.”

Trump now speaks of Mike Pence, identifying him as having a crucial role in the day with the ability to write the injustice. He is one who can stop the steal:

He looked at Mike Pence, and I hope Mike is going to do the right thing. I hope so. I hope so because if Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election. All he has to do.

This is from the number one or certainly one of the top constitutional lawyers in our country. He has the absolute right to do it. We’re supposed to protect our country, support our country, support our constitution, and protect our constitution. States want to revote. The States got defrauded. They were given false information. They voted on it. Now they want to recertify. They want it back.

All Vice-President Pence has to do is send it back to the States to recertify, and we become president, and you are the happiest people.

I just spoke to Mike. I said, “Mike, that doesn’t take courage. What takes courage is to do nothing. That takes courage,” and then we’re stuck with a president who lost the election by a lot, and we have to live with that for four more years. We’re just not going to let that happen. Many of you have traveled from all across the nation to be here, and I want to thank you for the extraordinary love. That’s what it is. There’s never been a movement like this ever, ever for the extraordinary love for this amazing country and this amazing movement. Thank you.

Trump states the stakes and purpose plainly:

We’re gathered together in the heart of our nation’s Capital for one very, very basic and simple reason, to save our democracy. … We want to go back, and we want to get this right because we’re going to have somebody in there that should not be in there and our country will be destroyed, and we’re not going to stand for that.

Trump describes with some vividness what the plan is:

Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. After this, we’re going to walk down and I’ll be there with you. We’re going to walk down. We’re going to walk down any one you want, but I think right here. We’re going walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators, and congressmen and women. We’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.

We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard. Today we will see whether Republicans stand strong for integrity of our elections, but whether or not they stand strong for our country, our country. Our country has been under siege for a long time, far longer than this four-year period.

You’ll note that he did say “peacefully and patriotically.” He mentions walking down to the Capitol. He does not mention entering, but I would note the Capitol is a building. Congress will not hear their demands without their entering.

Trump explains why he thinks the Supreme Court has been unfairly ruling against him:

I read a story in one of the newspapers recently how I control the three Supreme Court justices. I control them. They’re puppets. I read it about Bill Barr, that he’s my personal attorney. That he’ll do anything for me. And I said, “It really is genius,” because what they do is that, and it makes it really impossible for them to ever give you a victory, because all of a sudden Bill Barr changed, if you hadn’t noticed. I like Bill Barr, but he changed, because he didn’t want to be considered my personal attorney. And the Supreme Court, they rule against me so much. You know why? Because the story is I haven’t spoken to any of them, any of them, since virtually they got in. But the story is that they’re my puppet. That they’re puppets. And now that the only way they can get out of that, because they hate that, it’s not good on the social circuit. And the only way they get out is to rule against Trump. So, let’s rule against Trump, and they do that.

Trump details how he believes Pennsylvania was stolen from him. (You would be excused for just lightly skimming this nonsense.)

There were over 205,000 more ballots counted in Pennsylvania. Now think of this. You had 205,000 more ballots than you had voters. That means you had 200… Where did they come from? You know where they came from? Somebody’s imagination. Whatever they needed. So, in Pennsylvania you had 205,000 more votes than you had voters! And it’s the number is actually much greater than that now. That was as of a week ago. And this is a mathematical impossibility, unless you want to say it’s a total fraud. So, Pennsylvania was defrauded. Over 8000 ballots in Pennsylvania were cast by people whose names and dates of birth match individuals who died in 2020 and prior to the election. Think of that. Dead people! Lots of dead people, thousands. And some dead people actually requested an application. That bothers me even more. Not only are they voting, but they also want an application to vote. One of them was 29 years ago died. It’s incredible. Over 14,000 ballots were cast by out-of-state voters. So, these are voters that don’t live in the state. And by the way, these numbers are what they call outcome determinative. Meaning these numbers far surpass… I lost by a very little bit. These numbers are massive. Massive. More than 10,000 votes in Pennsylvania were illegally counted, even though they were received after Election Day. In other words, “They were received after Election Day, let’s count them anyway!” And what they did in many cases is they did fraud. They took the date and they moved it back, so that it no longer is after Election Day. And more than 60,000 ballots in Pennsylvania were reported received back. They got back before they were ever supposedly mailed out. In other words, you got the ballot back before you mailed it! they were supposedly mailed out, in other words, you got the ballot back before you mailed it, which is also logically and logistically impossible. Think of that one. You got the ballot back. Let’s send the ballots. Oh, they’ve already been sent. But we got the ballot back before they were sent. I don’t think that’s too good. Twenty-five thousand ballots in Pennsylvania were requested by nursing home residents, all in a single giant batch, not legal. Indicating an enormous illegal ballot harvesting operation. You’re not allowed to do it. It’s against the law. The day before the election, the State of Pennsylvania reported the number of absentee ballots that had been sent out. Yet this number was suddenly and drastically increased by 400,000 people. It was increased. Nobody knows where it came from by 400,000 ballots. One day after the election, it remains totally unexplained. They said, “Well, we can’t figure that.” Now that’s many, many times what it would take to overthrow the state. Just that one element. 400,000 ballots appeared from nowhere, right after the election.

However, there is a way. Pennsylvania (he means the Pennsylvania legislature) wants to fix the injustice:

By the way, Pennsylvania has now seen all of this. They didn’t know because it was so quick. They had a vote, they voted, but now they see all this stuff. It’s all come to light. Doesn’t happen that fast. And they want to re-certify their votes. They want to re-certify.

There’s only one thing needed, and it is in reach of one person who is inside the Capitol building:

But the only way that can happen is if Mike Pence agrees to send it back. Mike Pence has to agree to send it back. And many people in Congress want it sent back, and take of what you’re doing.

Pence has said he can’t do that due to his Constitutional duties. Trump recognizes that and offers this retort:

Let’s say you don’t do it. Somebody says, “Well, we have to obey the Constitution.” And you are, because you’re protecting our country and you’re protecting the Constitution, so you are. But think of what happens. Let’s say they’re stiffs and they’re stupid people. And they say, “Well, we really have no choice.” Even though Pennsylvania and other states want to redo their votes, they want to see the numbers. They already have the numbers. Go very quickly and they want to redo their legislature because many of these votes were taken as I said, because it wasn’t approved by their legislature. That in itself is illegal and then you have the scam and that’s all of the things that we’re talking about. But think of this: if you don’t do that, that means you will have a president of the United States for four years, with his wonderful son. You will have a president who lost all of these states, or you will have a president to put it another way, who was voted on by a bunch of stupid people who lost all of these things. You will have an illegitimate president, that’s what you’ll have. And we can’t let that happen.

There is much more detail on other states similar to how he went into detail on Pennsylvania that I am omitting here but you can read in the transcript.

Trump offers some optimism here though when looking at this crowd. He says this to communicate that they can do something about this. Hope is not lost because Pence can fix it:

Looking out at all the amazing patriots here today, I have never been more confident in our nation’s future. Well, I have to say we have to be a little bit careful. That’s a nice statement, but we have to be a little careful with that statement. If we allow this group of people to illegally take over our country, because it’s illegal when the votes are illegal, when the way they got there is illegal, when the States that vote are given false and fraudulent information.

This ending section is one that I have seen quoted from. I think it’s worth seeing an extended section rather than just a line or two though:

And we fight. We fight like Hell and if you don’t fight like Hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore. Our exciting adventures and boldest endeavors have not yet begun. My fellow Americans for our movement, for our children and for our beloved country and I say this, despite all that’s happened, the best is yet to come. So we’re going to, we’re going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue, I love Pennsylvania Avenue, and we’re going to the Capitol and we’re going to try and give– the Democrats are hopeless; they’re never voting for anything, not even one vote–but we’re going to try and give our Republicans, the weak ones, because the strong ones don’t need any of our help, we’re going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country. So, let’s walk down Pennsylvania Avenue. I want to thank you all. God bless you and God bless America. Thank you all for being here, this is incredible. Thank you very much. Thank you.

That is the end of the speech, scheduled to end just before election certification would start. We know that after this the crowd headed down Pennsylvania Avenue as directed by Trump, though he did not accompany him as his speech indicated he would. After walking, they entered the Capitol building, leading directly to the deaths of at least five people.

President Trump did not tell anyone to enter the building. He merely told them that “if you don’t fight like Hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”

Additionally, he says they are going to give “going to try and give [the weak Republicans] the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.” It’s not clear to me how that would be possible without physically entering the Capitol building.

For sake of argument, let’s say you believe that Trump always means for his speech to be taken in the most metaphorical way possible and never intends on anyone actually committing violence. Even assuming this, one would think Trump would at some point realize that a lot of people listen to him and interpret his words as marching orders.

Trump knows that his supporters are capable of violence he mentioned this in 2016 when he predicted his supporters would riot if he did not win the GOP nomination.

His fellow Republicans in 2016 accused Trump of encouraging violence at his rallies:

“I think a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment,” Texas Senator Ted Cruz told reporters in Illinois Friday night, as networks beamed in live footage of the protests. “When a candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face, the predictable consequence of that is that it escalates, and today is unlikely to be the last such instance.”

Earlier in the day, Florida Senator Marco Rubio strongly condemned Trump, saying there were “consequences” to his words.

“I would point out there isn’t violence at my events, there isn’t violence at Ted’s events, there isn’t violence at a Kasich event, there isn’t violence at a Sanders event, there isn’t violence at a Clinton event,” he told reporters. “There’s only one presidential candidate who has violence at their events.”

For his part, Trump offered to his supporters:

“If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them,” he said at a separate February rally in Iowa. “Just knock the hell out of them. I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees.”

This is Trump’s history. So it is not a coincidence that two weeks after Trump vetoed a defense bill because it required renaming military bases named after Confederate generals that his supporters broke into the nation’s Capital building waving Confederate Battle flags.

I don’t mean to claim that this specific manifestation of behavior was predictable. Such a statement could have taken many forms. Each of those forms are causally connected to Trump’s speech even though they are not predictable in the specifics of who will choose which action. Trump himself knows this. To see this, double back to Trump’s speech:

I just spoke to Mike. I said, “Mike, that doesn’t take courage. What takes courage is to do nothing. That takes courage,” and then we’re stuck with a president who lost the election by a lot, and we have to live with that for four more years. We’re just not going to let that happen. Many of you have traveled from all across the nation to be here, and I want to thank you for the extraordinary love.

Trump says that he told Pence rejecting the electors does not take courage. Accepting the electors takes courage. Why though? Because he has assembled a crowd of thousands of people who are not going to let their country be stolen from them. Trump knows that his supporters are angry. He knows what they are capable of. He says that Pence would require a great deal of courage to deny them what they want: a second Trump presidency.

Now let’s consider the tweets that led to the president getting banned from Twitter.

The tweets themselves are not directly hateful nor are they direct calls for violence. In fact, Twitter quotes them in their entirety when announcing Trump’s permanent suspension:

The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!

And

To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.

Twitter knows what I have mentioned a few times in this post. Even when the president’s words do not explicitly call for violence, they often reliably lead to some form of violence consistent with his statements.

Twitter then adds the following in its justification:

• President Trump’s statement that he will not be attending the Inauguration is being received by a number of his supporters as further confirmation that the election was not legitimate and is seen as him disavowing his previous claim made via two Tweets (1, 2) by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Dan Scavino, that there would be an “orderly transition” on January 20th.
• The second Tweet may also serve as encouragement to those potentially considering violent acts that the Inauguration would be a “safe” target, as he will not be attending.
• The use of the words “American Patriots” to describe some of his supporters is also being interpreted as support for those committing violent acts at the US Capitol.
• Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter, including a proposed secondary attack on the US Capitol and state capitol buildings on January 17, 2021.

As such, our determination is that the two Tweets above are likely to inspire others to replicate the violent acts that took place on January 6, 2021, and that there are multiple indicators that they are being received and understood as encouragement to do so.

Let’s visit that last bullet point again. It’s a doozy when read alone:

Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter, including a proposed secondary attack on the US Capitol and state capitol buildings on January 17, 2021.

This is probably not the only time someone has threatened violence. As I was asked on Twitter, why doesn’t Twitter just handle it its normal way?I don’t have any non-public information here. However, I suspect that Twitter is unable to handle the frequency of the threats that were made in the immediate aftermath of Trump’s tweets. I suspect that there is a safety team at Twitter that is supposed to flag, review, and forward to law enforcement suspicious activity and that this team is just overwhelmed to the point that Twitter risks being unable to do what the law requires it to do.

The now-famous Section 230 does protect Twitter from much of the liability stemming from people being mean to each other online, but Twitter still retains liability if it does not commit basic actions to prevent it from being used as a conduit for things like child pornography or terroristic threats, the latter being the of concern here.

I suspect Apple and Google and Amazon AWS felt similar liabilities could accrue to them through unchecked communications on the Twitter-knockoff Parler. That is why Apple and Google kicked Parler off their App Stores and Amazon AWS kicked Parler off its platform. The AWS cancellation is particularly worrying because there was no significant movement to my knowledge to support such a cancellation. No one complains that gas stations sell gas to neo-Nazis. No one was threatening to boycott AWS until they got rid of Parler. I had no idea Parler was on AWS. If anything, future customers might be dissuaded from using AWS knowing that they might get kicked off in the future. Note that in AWS’s letter to Parler, it makes no mention of “hateful” content or neo-Nazis. Instead, they cite specific Parler posts that mention dates for assassinating liberal leaders and Black Lives Matter activists along with dates. The issue is not hateful content; the issue is a deluge of specific, violent, credible threats that exceed platforms’ ability to handle responsibly.

Apple is even more clear in a statement, explicitly stating the problem is not the views expressed on Parler but instead illegality:

We have always supported diverse points of view being represented on the App Store, but there is no place on our platform for threats of violence and illegal activity.

In Apple’s letter to Parler, however, they do object to “harmful” content instead of just dangerous content, so perhaps Apple does have a view-based objection.

Going back to AWS though, I could not find an AWS Press Release asking that they be patted on the back for discontinuing Parler. The AWS Twitter feed does not mention it. If they think banning Parler is good for business, they are being shy about their good deed.

I suspect, without no more evidence than is in this post, that AWS knows that there are specific, likely threats being made on Parler that is going unchecked and unreported to authorities. I suspect that AWS knows it could be held liable if they continue to host Parler while knowing this is going on, and that is why they are discontinuing service.

What does this mean for January 17 and January 20? (Q is the 17th letter of the alphabet. The 20th is the day of the inauguration.)

I do not know. However, 12% of the American public claim to support “the actions of those people who took part in the riot.” They believe violence resulting in death to overturn the election of Joe Biden is justified and right. This represents some 36 million or more people, some of whom will be willing to act.

Combine this with what we know from Twitter and Parler, and I am genuinely fearful of what is coming.

Update: It appears the inauguration as a public gathering has been canceled.

The Truth About January 6—and Where We Should Go From Here

According to a left-wing propaganda narrative that you can read in the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, and similar outlets, the violence in Congress that occurred in the afternoon of January 6 was the culmination of a long series of outrages by President Donald Trump. When he lost the November election to Joe Biden, he could not accept his loss. He kept making baseless claims that he had won the election and accused Biden supporters of using fake ballots and rigged voting machines to inflate the totals for Biden. He kept filing lawsuits to get parts of the verdict overturned, but the courts rejected all his claims. He thought he still had a chance on January 6, when the electoral votes are counted in Congress. He wanted Vice President Mike Pence to violate the Constitution. Although Pence has the purely ceremonial role of presiding over the joint session, he wanted Pence to toss out slates of electors who opposed him, or at least send them back to the states for recertification. Pence refused to violate the Constitution. When Trump found out about it, he was so angry that he incited part of a rally supporting him to storm Congress and shut down the session. Because of him, several people were killed. He is a sore loser who should be removed from office immediately and sent to prison for sedition as well.

Every word of this narrative is false. Let’s take one item out of chronological order, because it has gotten so much attention. It’s alleged that Trump became enraged at Pence because Pence wouldn’t violate the Constitution. In fact, there is a good case that what Trump was asking Pence to do was perfectly legitimate. As John Yoo and Robert Delahunty pointed out in an article in the American Mind last October 19.

We suggest that the Vice President’s role is not the merely ministerial one of opening the ballots and then handing them over (to whom?) to be counted. Though the 12th Amendment describes the counting in the passive voice, the language seems to envisage a single, continuous process in which the Vice President both opens and counts the votes.

The check on error or fraud in the count is that the Vice President’s activities are to be done publicly, “in the presence” of Congress. And if “counting” the electors’ votes is the Vice President’s responsibility, then the inextricably intertwined responsibility for judging the validity of those votes must also be his.

If that reading is correct, then the Electoral Count Act is unconstitutional. Congress cannot use legislation to dictate how any individual branch of government is to perform its unique duties: Congress could not prescribe how future Senates should conduct an impeachment trial, for example. Similarly, we think the better reading is that Vice President Pence would decide between competing slates of electors chosen by state legislators and governors, or decide whether to count votes that remain in litigation.

Yoo is a controversial person, but there’s no doubt he is a constitutional law scholar in good standing.

Well, you might say, what right did Trump have to blow up on Pence just because Pence disagreed with his understanding of the Constitution? The answer to that is simple. Pence had assured Trump that he accepted his claim that there were irregularities in the voting. He said at a rally in Georgia on January 4, just two days before the count,

that the case for widespread election fraud would be made to the American people when Congress meets this week to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s victory over President Trump.

“We’ve all got our doubts about the last election. I share the concerns of millions of Americans about voting irregularities,” Pence said at an indoor congregation at Rock Springs Church in Milner, Ga., in support of Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue in runoff elections there.

Pence, who by law will be tasked with declaring a winner of the Electoral College vote, seemed to leave open the possibility that Trump could still remain in power for a second term.

“Come this Wednesday,” he said, referring to the impending certification of election results, “we’ll have our day in Congress. We’ll hear the evidence.”

The election was in fact stolen from him. It’s easy to hack voting machines, such as those made by Dominion, to change vote totals. When I say this, I’m not relying on a source the Left will dismiss as fantasies from conspiracy-theory nuts. According to a story published by NBC News last year,

It was an assurance designed to bolster public confidence in the way America votes: Voting machines “are not connected to the internet.”

Then Acting Undersecretary for Cybersecurity and Communications at the Department of Homeland Security Jeanette Manfra said those words in 2017, testifying before Congress while she was responsible for the security of the nation’s voting system.

So many government officials like Manfra have said the same thing over the last few years that it is commonly accepted as gospel by most Americans. Behind it is the notion that if voting systems are not online, hackers will have a harder time compromising them.

But that is an overstatement, according to a team of 10 independent cybersecurity experts who specialize in voting systems and elections. While the voting machines themselves are not designed to be online, the larger voting systems in many states end up there, putting the voting process at risk.

That team of election security experts say[s] that last summer, they discovered some systems are, in fact, online.

“We found over 35 [voting systems] had been left online and we’re still continuing to find more,” Kevin Skoglund, a senior technical advisor at the election security advocacy group National Election Defense Coalition, told NBC News.

“We kept hearing from election officials that voting machines were never on the internet,” he said. “And we knew that wasn’t true. And so we set out to try and find the voting machines to see if we could find them on the internet, and especially the back-end systems that voting machines in the precinct were connecting to to report their results.” …

The three largest voting manufacturing companies—Election Systems &Software, Dominion Voting Systems and Hart InterCivic—have acknowledged they all put modems in some of their tabulators and scanners. The reason? So that unofficial election results can more quickly be relayed to the public. Those modems connect to cell phone networks, which, in turn, are connected to the internet.

Trump has every right to be suspicious. Shouldn’t there be a full and impartial investigation by recognized experts of whether fraud occurred? If the Biden camp thinks the election was fair and honest, shouldn’t they have welcomed a full investigation? But of course they didn’t. And this type of fraud is just one of many others, such as truckloads of Biden ballots arriving after it looked like Trump was winning, in just the right numbers to give Biden the victory.

When we look at Trump’s complaints, we need to bear one vital fact in mind. As Mike Davis noted in New Left Review, November–December 2020, p. 5, “Biden eked out a slim victory, in some states only by microscopic margins, that won him 306 electoral votes, the same as Trump four years ago. A mere 256,000 vote in five key states purchased 73 of those votes.” This is why Trump is right: because just a few votes could change the outcome, and because there was a lot of apparent fraud, a full investigation was needed.

But, some people might say, this doesn’t excuse Trump. Didn’t he incite people at a rally to invade the sacred halls of Congress? Well, in the first place, the halls of Congress aren’t “sacred”. They belong to the people. And Trump didn’t incite violence. Not at all. He wanted a peaceful protest, and this is what he got, aside from a few antifa activists who crashed the protest. They had been bused into Washington earlier.

Disturbing video available (for now) on Twitter shows Capitol Police allowing demonstrators to enter the Capitol grounds. . . Elsewhere at the Capitol, the police sent out to hold a perimeter were unable to hold off mobs.

Why was the United States Capitol left so vulnerable?

After the demonstrators were led in, a policeman killed a young woman at point-blank range. The police and Secret Service ended the session of Congress, not the peaceful demonstrators. To give themselves cover, they imported a few Antifa agitators.

Why did they do this? I suggest they did this for a reason, which will become clear if we ask, What was going on just before the demonstration? The members of Congress were about to hear a debate on the objections raised against the votes in the swing states. The American people would have been able to hear the evidence for themselves. This had to be stopped. By stopping the session for about six hours, the debate was shifted to the very late evening hours of January 6 and early morning hours of January 7, when very few people were watching. Besides, all the attention was now on the protest rather than the fraudulent voting.

What can be done now? President Trump should not urge us all to “come together.” Instead, he should support secession. States and communities that support Trump are too far apart from supporters of the Biden-Harris BLM camorra to live in a united country. “Bear not the yoke with unbelievers. Shooting of US Air Force veteran may have saved House members’ lives, department says

The U.S. Capitol Police found the fatal shooting of Ashli Babbitt during the Jan. 6 riot was lawful, and the officer, whose name will remain concealed, will not be disciplined over the deadly use of force. The shooter was Lt. Michael Byrd. He is still in duty, he was not suspended at any point in time for the shooting, even pending the investigation.

Babbitt, a 35-year-old California woman and U.S. Air Force veteran, was shot by a U.S. Capitol Police officer in the Speaker’s Lobby on Jan. 6. Eight months later, the U.S. Capitol Police concluded its internal investigation into the deadly use of force after interviewing multiple witnesses and reviewing all the available evidence, including video and radio calls. At the time of the shooting, the probe found, officers “had barricaded the Speaker’s Lobby with furniture before a rioter shattered the glass door.” 

ASHLI BABBITT WAS ‘AMBUSHED’ DURING CAPITOL RIOT, FAMILY’S LAWYER SAYS 

“If the doors were breached, the rioters would have immediate access to the House Chambers,” the U.S. Capitol Police said in a statement Monday. “The actions of the officer in this case potentially saved Members and staff from serious injury and possible death from a large crowd of rioters who forced their way into the U.S. Capitol and to the House Chamber where Members and staff were steps away.”

The department’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) “determined the officer’s conduct was lawful and within Department policy, which says an officer may use deadly force only when the officer reasonably believes that action is in the defense of human life, including the officer’s own life, or in the defense of any person in immediate danger of serious physical injury.”

An attorney for the family of Ashli Babbitt said they will sue the Capitol police and the officer who shot her during the Jan. 6 riot inside the Capitol. 

“The officer in this case, who is not being identified for the officer’s safety, will not be facing internal discipline,” the department said in its statement. “This officer and the officer’s family have been the subject of numerous credible and specific threats for actions that were taken as part of the job of all our officers: defending the Congress, Members, staff and the democratic process.” 

On April 14, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia announced it would not pursue criminal charges based on insufficient evidence. The case was investigated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the Metropolitan Police Department. The administrative investigation was launched after the criminal investigation was closed.

In an email announcing the decision, the Justice Department described how Babbitt “was among a mob of people that entered the Capitol building and gained access to a hallway outside ‘Speaker’s Lobby,’ which leads to the Chamber of the U.S. House of Representatives.”

Police were evacuating lawmakers from the chamber at the time, as “the mob was trying to enter from multiple doorways,” prosecutors said. The officers used furniture to try to barricade the glass doors separating the hallway from the Speaker’s Lobby to try to stave off the rioters, who kept trying to break through those doors, smashing the glass with flagpoles, helmets and other objects.

“Eventually, the three USCP officers positioned outside the doors were forced to evacuate,” the DOJ said. “As members of the mob continued to strike the glass doors, Ms. Babbitt attempted to climb through one of the doors where glass was broken out. An officer inside the Speaker’s Lobby fired one round from his service pistol, striking Ms. Babbitt in the left shoulder, causing her to fall back from the doorway and onto the floor.”

Video clips posted online depict Babbitt, wearing a stars and stripes backpack, stepping up and beginning to go through the waist-high opening of an area of the Capitol known as the Speaker’s Lobby when a gunshot is heard. She falls backward. Another video shows other unidentified people attempting to lift Babbitt up. She can be seen slumping back to the ground.

Babbitt was rushed to Washington Hospital Center, but could not be saved.

The conclusion of the internal probe Monday comes after Terry Roberts, a lawyer hired by Babbitt’s family who specializes in police misconduct cases, reportedly said he does not believe the officer gave verbal warnings and “ambushed” Babbitt by shooting her inside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. 

Babbitt’s family reportedly intends to file a $10 million wrongful death lawsuit against the officer. 

The unidentified officer’s lawyer Mark Schamel has denied Roberts’ version of events.

“It’s a false narrative that he issued no verbal commands or warnings. He was screaming, ‘Stay back! Stay back! Don’t come in here!'” he told Real Clear Investigations.

US Capitol cop who shot Ashli Babbitt ID’d as Michael Byrd

The police officer who fatally shot Ashli Babbitt during the US Capitol riot is a 28-year law enforcement veteran — who allegedly once left a loaded gun in a restroom of the building, according to a report ahead of his much-anticipated interview Thursday.

Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd, 53, stepped forward to identify himself as the officer who gunned down the 36-year-old Air Force vet in an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt Thursday evening.

“Lt. Byrd was forced to come forward because he was already identified by multiple unscrupulous outlets and has received hundreds of death threats,” Byrd’s attorney Mark Schamel said in a statement provided to the Post.

“He has had to live in hiding because the FBI threat assessment was so serious.”

Byrd, who joined the force in 1993, also made headlines in 2019 for leaving his loaded gun in a Capitol restroom, according to the Daily Mail.

The cop — who was exonerated last week after an internal probe — had been seen in plain clothes with his gun drawn as rioters stormed the building on Jan. 6, according to the outlet. 

Byrd’s name was reportedly known to federal investigators and the US Capitol Police, but officials have refused to disclose it, citing concerns about his safety. But his identity had not been confirmed publicly until Thursday.

Babbitt’s family attorney, Terrell Roberts, called his decision to reveal his identity an unexpected turn of events.

But Byrd’s attorney shot back at that assessment, calling his client a hero who is owed a debt of gratitude for doing his duty on Jan. 6.

“Those who say he has received special treatment should know better than to perpetuate those lies and seek to avoid the fact that Lt. Byrd’s conduct was legal, justified, appropriate and necessary,” Schamel said.

The attorney said Byrd had a decorated career and had to “use force to save lives.

“He came forward reluctantly to respond to the lies and misinformation that has been spread by those with a political agenda and those who seek to profit from this event,” said Schamel, of the firm Lowenstein Sander.

“It is shameful that anyone would seek to profit from the crimes they committed on January 6th but we know that is exactly what the rioters family seeks to do.”

Earlier this week, NBC said the cop would reveal his identity “for the first time” during the interview and “share his perspective on the events of that day, including the aftermath of the deadly insurrection and the threats he has received.”

Byrd shot Babbitt to death as she tried to climb through a busted-out window into the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lobby as part of a wild mob disrupting the certification of President Biden’s victory.

Internal investigations of the officer’s decision to shoot Babbitt concluded that he should not face criminal charges.

In an exclusive interview with NBC News, Lt. Michael Byrd said he opened fire only as a “last resort” after the rioters failed to comply with his commands.

In the chaotic minutes before he shot and killed Ashli Babbitt during the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, Lt. Michael Byrd focused his attention on the glass doors leading into the lobby of the House of Representatives chamber.

About 60 to 80 House members and staffers were holed up inside, and it was Byrd’s job to protect them.

As rioters rampaged through the Capitol, Byrd and a few other officers of the U.S. Capitol Police set up a wall of furniture outside the doors.

“Once we barricaded the doors, we were essentially trapped where we were,” Byrd said in an exclusive interview with NBC News’ Lester Holt, speaking publicly for the first time since the riot. “There was no way to retreat. No other way to get out.

“If they get through that door, they’re into the House chamber and upon the members of Congress,” added Byrd, who gave NBC News permission to use his name after authorities had declined to release it.

Byrd’s connection to what was going on outside and inside the building was his police radio. For several minutes, it crackled with a cascade of alarming messages.

There were shouts of officers down. Screams from his colleagues under attack by rioters with chemical agents. A report that an officer’s fingertips were blown off.

“It was literally broadcast over the air,” Byrd said. “I said, ‘OK, this is getting serious.’”

Soon a horde of demonstrators arrived. Byrd, a 28-year veteran of the Capitol Police, took a defensive posture with his gun drawn as rioters smashed the glass doors.

He said he yelled repeatedly for them to get back. But the mob kept pressing forward, and then a lone rioter tried to climb through one of the doors.

What happened next was captured on video: Byrd fired one shot, striking Babbitt in the shoulder.

Babbitt, 35, an Air Force veteran and ardent supporter of former President Donald Trump, fell to the ground; she died from her injuries later.

Her death became a rallying cry for the far right, which described Babbitt as a martyr. Trump himself declared that she had been murdered and suggested, falsely, that the officer who shot her worked for a high-ranking Democrat.

For Byrd, who is Black, the incident turned his life upside down. He has been in hiding for months after he received a flood of death threats and racist attacks that started when his name leaked onto right-wing websites.

But in his interview with Holt, Byrd said he has no doubt that he made the right decision in light of the circumstances.

“I know that day I saved countless lives,” Byrd said. “I know members of Congress, as well as my fellow officers and staff, were in jeopardy and in serious danger. And that’s my job.”

Byrd said he had no idea whether the person he shot was carrying a weapon. It was only later that night that he found out that the rioter was a woman who was unarmed.

Asked why he pulled the trigger, Byrd said it was a “last resort.”

“I tried to wait as long as I could,” he told Holt. “I hoped and prayed no one tried to enter through those doors. But their failure to comply required me to take the appropriate action to save the lives of members of Congress and myself and my fellow officers.”

Byrd has been cleared of wrongdoing by the Justice Department and the Capitol Police. In announcing its decision not to charge him, the Justice Department said in April that investigators had examined video, physical evidence from the scene, autopsy results and statements from the officer involved, as well as other officers and witnesses.

“The investigation revealed no evidence to establish that, at the time the officer fired a single shot at Ms. Babbitt, the officer did not reasonably believe that it was necessary to do so in self-defense or in defense of the Members of Congress and others evacuating the House Chamber,” federal prosecutors said in a statement.

‘The chants got louder’

The days before Jan. 6 were business as usual for Byrd, a Washington native. He and other Capitol Police officials met to review the security plan for the certification of Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election.

“We did not get specific intel that would require us to change or adjust our posture,” he said. “At that point, it felt like a routine event that I’ve done over the last 28 years of my career.”

Byrd said there was one complicating factor: Fewer officers were under his command, in large part because of Covid-19-related absences.

When hundreds of Trump supporters upset over the results of the election moved on the Capitol, the images of violent clashes were broadcast live on television. But Byrd, stationed outside the House chamber, wasn’t able to watch. He was dependent on his police radio.

When Byrd started hearing reports of officers down, he didn’t know the extent of their injuries. At one point, Byrd said, an even more alarming message came over the radio: a report of shots fired, which he learned much later was false.

Byrd said that after he heard the radio chatter warning that rioters had breached the building, he rushed inside the chamber and instructed the House members to hide under their chairs and to stay away from doors and windows.

He said he told them that pipe bombs had been found in the vicinity of the building and that rioters were using weapons against officers. You need to gather your gas masks, Byrd said he told them.

And he gave one more crucial instruction: He told the House members to take measures to disguise who they were in case they came face to face with the rioters.

“One of the things that was imperative was to inform the members to remove their pins to allow them to blend in,” Byrd said. “To remove their jackets, to look like staff as much as possible.”

As Byrd rushed out of the chamber, he saw the House chaplain take the position he had left on the podium. The chaplain began to recite a prayer with the members of Congress.

“I believe it was at that point in time” that “the members, as well, started to believe serious harm or injury could come to them,” Byrd said.

Byrd said he and the other officers quickly erected the makeshift barricade using every piece of furniture they could find.

“At that point is when I realized they’re here,” Byrd said, referring to the rioters. “The chants got louder. I couldn’t make out what they were saying, but it sounded like hundreds of people outside of that door.”

Video shot by a person in the crowd showed two officers posted in front of the door. Heavily outnumbered, they eventually stepped aside.

Byrd said he had no knowledge that any officers were there. Because of the furniture stacked on his side of the door, he also couldn’t make out how many people were on the other side or whether they were carrying weapons.

“It was impossible for me to see what was on the other side,” he said.

But he did see the person now known to be Babbitt start coming through the broken glass.

“I could not fully see her hands or what was in the backpack or what the intentions are,” Byrd said. “But they had shown violence leading up to that point.”

Jan. 6 committee demands trove of records

It was the first time Byrd had ever shot his weapon in his 28 years on the force. Over the next few minutes, he helped the House members evacuate the building. He said it wasn’t until later that night, when he got the chance to watch TV coverage, that he understood the full scope of the Capitol riot.

The Babbitt family’s attorney has described the incident as an “ambush,” alleging that the officer gave no warning before he pulled the trigger. Babbitt’s family has signaled its intention to file a civil lawsuit against the Capitol Police; it had previously filed court papers seeking the name of the officer who shot her.

The attorney, Terry Roberts, didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Byrd said he felt pain in his throat for days afterward from yelling at the protesters to stop and step back as they pounded on the glass doors.

Byrd also scoffed at the allegations by some that he had a political agenda.

“I do my job for Republican, for Democrat, for white, for Black, red, blue, green,” he said. “I don’t care about your affiliation.”

He noted that when Trump was president, he escorted him through the Capitol on numerous occasions. “If he was in the Capitol and I was responsible for him, I’d do the same thing for him and his family,” Byrd said.

In the days after Jan. 6, Byrd’s name leaked out in right-wing media and online forums. Then came the threats.

“They talked about killing me, cutting off my head,” Byrd said, adding that there were also racist attacks.

“It’s all disheartening, because I know I was doing my job.”

The hardest part, he said, has been the effect on his family. A tear slid out of Byrd’s eye and trickled down his right cheek as he lamented how the life he built has been upended.

“Sometimes, you can’t do anything but cry,” Byrd said, his voice growing heavy. “You felt like you did your job. You helped protect our legislative leaders of this country and you fought for democracy and keeping them established.”

An incident in Byrd’s past has also gained renewed attention online: In 2019, he left his service weapon in a bathroom, where another officer eventually discovered it.

In the NBC News interview, Byrd described the incident as a “terrible mistake.”

“I owned up to it. I was penalized for it. I moved on,” he said.

After having remained silent for seven months as the investigations dragged on, Byrd said he wanted to speak out to counter the misrepresentations of his actions that day, even if doing so exposes him to more threats and vitriol.

“It’s something that is frightening,” Byrd said. “Again, I believe I showed the utmost courage on January 6, and it’s time for me to do that now.”

He said that he knows there are people who disagree with his actions that day and that they may always.

“I hope they understand I did my job,” Byrd said. “There was imminent threat and danger to the members of Congress. I just want the truth to be told.”

Now that we have his side of the story, when will Ashley Babbit be able to speak from the grave and finally receive justice? Will we have to wait for 2022? I guess so, because we know that a Democratic run Congress will never investigate her shooting. After listening to his interview, it is evident that he is lying through his teeth. Let’s hope that she will finally see justice and then her family may get some closure.

Conclusion

One could make a career on the events surrounding January 6, 2021. The amount of information available surrounding the riot in the Capitol building is truly overwhelming. Unfortunately most of it is either biased or erroneous. For every unbiased article available, there is at least 10 that are biased. I found it difficult to wade through this miasma of misinformation. Even Wikipedia partially failed me. I found that I was having to even edit the timeline that I found on their site. With at least 95% of the press being pro-Democrat and liberal I had a rough time verifying the data. I included a discussion on President Trump’s now infamous speech with excerpts and I also Included an unexpurgated copy in the Addendum section. The left would have you believe that President Trump was guilty of inciting insurrection. I listened to his entire speech. I can tell you that this claim is false. The rioting occurred at the Capitol building before he even finished his speech. He also had not even made the statement about marching to the Capitol building yet. I have included a list of 20 BLM and Antifa members who were involved in the riot in the addendum section. If you have watched the videos from last summer, you will have a feel for the tactics utilized by Antifa and BLM. They pretty much followed the same playbook in every riot. You could see this same pattern in the Capitol riot. The only difference was that, they were not wearing their trademark black outfits and backpacks. You could still see some of their protective gear, but they were trying to disguise themselves by wearing MAGA hats and shirts. They were also the most violent individuals and seemed to be the ring leaders. The Trumpers were too busy taking selfies in the Capitol building. They also distinguished themselves by being more civil and orderly. Many actually staid within the roped areas.

There was also claims that the riots were and armed insurrection. No guns were found or confiscated. The only person killed that was directly involved in the riots was shot by the DC police. Three other people died that day, but they were all from unrelated (cardiac events) events . The cop that died, suffered a stroke on the 7th (No video evidence was ever produced showing him being hit with a fire extinguisher).

With the second bogus impeachment in the books, the Washington Post has finally seen fit to admit the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6 was, at least in part, pre-planned.

The article, published Tuesday, the day before Biden’s inauguration, declares in its headline “Self-styled militia members planned on storming the U.S. Capitol days in advance of Jan. 6 attack, court documents say” and opens with the following paragraphs.

Self-styled militia members from Virginia, Ohio and other states made plans to storm the U.S. Capitol days in advance of the Jan. 6 attack, and then communicated in real time as they breached the building on opposite sides and talked about hunting for lawmakers, according to court documents filed Tuesday.

While authorities have charged more than 100 individuals in the riot, details in the new allegations against three U.S. military veterans offer a disturbing look at what they allegedly said to one another before, during and after the attack — statements that indicate a degree of preparation and determination to rush deep into the halls and tunnels of Congress to make “citizens’ arrests” of elected officials.

U.S. authorities charged an apparent leader of the Oath Keepers extremist group, Thomas Edward Caldwell, 66, of Berryville, Va., in the attack, alleging that the Navy veteran helped organize a ring of dozens who coordinated their movements as they “stormed the castle” to disrupt the confirmation of President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral college victory.

Several paragraphs later, here’s what the authors of the article concede:

The arrests this weekend of several people with alleged ties to far-right extremist groups, including the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys and the Three Percenters, suggest that the riot was not an entirely impulsive outburst of violence but an event instigated or exploited by organized groups. Hours of video posted on social media and pored over by investigators have focused on individuals in military-style gear moving together.

CNN acknowledged last week that the storming of the Capitol was planned prior to Trump’s speech, reporting that, “Evidence uncovered so far, including weapons and tactics seen on surveillance video, suggests a level of planning that has led investigators to believe the attack on the US Capitol was not just a protest that spiraled out of control, a federal law enforcement official says.”

The CNN report and the Washington Post article call into question the case Democrats made for impeaching Trump. If authorities found that at least some of the rioters planned the storming of the Capitol in advance, then how much of what happened on January 6 was really fueled by President Trump’s speech earlier that day?

It has been shown that the events on the 6th had an effect on the decision making in the Capitol building. Prior to the rioting, there were many more Republicans who were planning on arguing for additional electoral vote investigations being made. Several states had requested two more weeks to investigate their election. After the rioting, many of these congressmen and Senators changed their minds. So the pro Trumpers no longer had enough votes to change the decision. Therefore Biden was officially made president. So it can be argued that the riots only hurt president Trump. Did the planners know that this would happen? It is hard to say. But I do believe that they new it would give them ammunition in the war against Trump. It seems that the Democrats have been a step ahead of the Republicans the last 4 years. So now we are stuck in the swamp for at least the next two years. But I think our future is much more bleak than that.

The Most Important Story From The January 6 Hearings

As anyone with a TV or newspaper well knows, the news media have relentlessly pounded us with coverage of the January 6 Congressional hearings. ABC Nightly News has at times devoted almost a third of their airtime to reportage from the Capitol, complete with Jon Karl shamelessly plugging his book while ostensibly pretending to be a man on the scene reporter (“As I write in my book, Betrayal…”). Every major TV network but Fox carved out blocks of their prime-time space in an attempt to recapture the glory of the Watergate years. And, of course, the cable news networks are in a lather.

What happened on January 6 was indeed big news. It was very ugly. It was also a futile gesture. And it handed the Democrats – the very people many storming the Capitol believed to have illegitimately attained power through ballot box chicanery – talking points to carry them right through to the midterms. Anyone thinking rationally that day should have seen it. But, from Donald Trump on down, we see that rationality gave way to raw emotion and a frustration that stemmed from utter disbelief that over 81 million could cast their ballot for an uninspiring, corrupt septuagenarian, who is the consummate DC insider. Not to mention a candidate so obviously mentally enfeebled that he was relegated to meticulously choreographed Q&A sessions from his basement with journalists so overtly biased they may as well have been on the DNC payroll. And who knows, maybe they were?

And that last observation presents us with the bigger story of the riots. There are questions looming above the January 6 events that are more salient than the information being gathered in the hearings. They have to do with vital American institutions themselves. First and foremost, the press. No republic like ours can last without a diligent media questioning authority and keeping them at bay; human nature will always gravitate towards the accumulation of power if left unchecked. The Framers understood this. And yet the difference in coverage between the four-hour January 6 riots and those that occurred throughout the nation during the year preceding these events is telling, and disturbing for those who believe in the vital necessity of the Fourth Estate.

In 2020 over 200 cities were the scenes of riotous behavior, looting, vandalism and arson. Over two dozen innocents like Italia Kelly and David Dorn were murdered in cold blood. Police headquarters as well as businesses were set ablaze. Some 1,000 police officers were assaulted, and roughly $2 billion in property damage occurred, mostly in minority neighborhoods.

And yet, the same media that seems so hellbent to crucify the man who took a selfie in Pelosi’s office performed rhetorical yoga that would make a swami wince when reporting the stories of the mass lawlessness across the country – some of it literally going on right behind the very reporters who with a straight face called them, and this is my favorite from CNN, “fiery but mostly peaceful protests.” Sure, and but for that unfortunate Booth-Lincoln incident, all-in-all the night out at Ford’s Theater was pretty fun.

Publications like the Washington Post went out of their way to declare that the protests were “overwhelmingly non-violent.” That only seven percent of the estimated 15 to 26 million people who hit the streets engaged in rank criminality. So that means only between a mere one and two million torched and ransacked their own cities?  Well, that’s a relief. Yet, were one to use these same soothing parameters as a measure of the “peacefulness” of the January 6 gathering, what percent of the estimated 120,000 who marched in D.C. to protest what they believed to be a fraudulent election actually stormed the Capitol? As of this writing, 884 have been arrested and charged.

I’m no math wizard, but that means of the 120,000 in D.C. that day, it wasn’t seven percent who were lawless, but rather seven-tenths of one percent. Bump it up to an estimated 2,000 who actually stormed the Capitol itself. That’s one-and-a-half percent. Yet, the media was loath to call it an “overwhelmingly peaceful” protest. Why? Because this doesn’t suit the narrative the Democrats wish to impose upon the country through their reliable conduits in the newsroom.

Such obvious water-carrying for one party might be behind a new Gallup poll showing Americans’ trust in the news media is at an all-time low. Of self-identified Republicans, only five percent trust newspapers and eight percent trust TV news. This is to be somewhat expected as conservatives have for decades had to wade through the now flagrant but always present left-wing bias in the newsrooms. But more tellingly, of Democrats, only 35% trust newspapers and a mere 20% trust TV news. Even they get it.

This collapse in media trust, and the broader erosion of journalistic standards of objectivity and proper sourcing (see: Russia collusion hoax) as relates to such an important foundation upon which any nation run by flawed human beings must rest, is being played out in the January 6 hearings. Americans wonder, why do these people care so much about what happened for four hours in one city in one day, wherein the only person to die was a four-tour veteran shot by a criminally trigger-happy Capitol Hill policeman (who was never prosecuted, of course) and so little about our nation’s cities in flames from coast-to-coast for eight months? Why did the media happily proffer the demonstrable lie, one which Pelosi still shamelessly touts, that four officers died that day? Why do they care so much about a man in a horn hat roaming the Capitol yet actively suppress a story of the president’s own son’s validated laptop implicating a then sitting vice president, and now titular president, in a lucrative influence peddling scheme with our enemies? Why does the media do the bidding of the very State apparatus it is supposed to diligently police?

What we have seen in the January 6 process is more akin to a Stalinesque show trial. The Democrats are mining the hearings for political ore so as to distract Americans’ attention from the staggeringly disastrous Biden (or whomever is pulling his strings) presidency thus far. And if it serves to put those who would dare threaten their power on notice by making examples of imprisoning the likes of Steve Bannon—not my favorite guy, but clearly a pawn in a larger game—who dare challenge their authority and, the worst crime of all, supported Donald Trump, then all the better.

Meanwhile, a press that will devote precious air-time to cover the Bannon story shows no curiosity at all as to how we have a former NSA and CIA director who blatantly perjured themselves before Congress walking free without consequence. Indeed, as if to underscore the nation’s suspicion that the media is nothing more than an appendage of the State, they now serve as paid consultants with CNN and MSNBC respectively. Nothing to see here. On the other hand, Michael Flynn, a decent and honorable military man who chose the wrong president to serve, had his life ruined for far less.

As is the mantra of all tinhorn dictatorships that seems to guide the dangerously politicized Department of Justice these days: “For my friends, everything, for my enemies, the law.” The same now could be said of the press. For their friends “fiery but mostly peaceful protests” and paid consultant gigs. For their enemies, a hyperbolic comparison to Pearl Harbor and 9/11, and a gleefully covered perp walk.

Although an estimated 17 million Americans have watched the hearings, most polls indicate that, but for an erosion of support for Trump himself (which actually plays into GOP hands as they believe he is the only one who could lose to Biden in a free and fair election), the political needle hasn’t budged. The reason could be that many Americans now view the reporting of said hearings through the lens of the skeptic and the cynic. They know that, with a media that votes for and contributes to one party in vast numbers, they are as likely to be subject to that party’s propaganda as hard news. And it gets exhausting constantly trying to filter out the former to find the latter. So they have thrown up their hands and said, I’ll watch you and read you, but I won’t trust you.

Without trust, the press is impotent and doomed. Without the press, the Republic will continue to decay. Maybe, in a way, that is the most important message of January 6 being lost in all the noise of Liz Cheney’s self-serving moralizing and Adam Schiff’s serial mendacity. The riot wasn’t so much an attempt to overthrow the government, as it was a manifestation of the collective mistrust of our most vital institutions. A desperate cry out that something is rotten at the very core of this nation. And most disconcerting to anyone who cares about the future of the country, if history is any guide, such mass public mistrust can only be held at bay for so long.

If the news media really wanted to get to the heart of the January 6 story, this is what they would be investigating. But that would mean investigating themselves.

Timeline of the 2021 storming of the United States Capitol

The following article is a broad timeline of the course of events surrounding the storming of the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, by rioters supporting United States President Donald Trump‘s attempts to overturn his defeat in the 2020 presidential election. Pro-Trump rioters stormed the United States Capitol after assembling on the Ellipse of the Capitol complex for the “Save America March“.

Following the rally, President Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Rudy Giuliani, and several Republican members of Congress addressed the crowd, repeating unfounded claims of electoral fraud affecting the 2020 election outcome and encouraging supporters to “fight like hell” to “take back our country” and suggesting a march towards the Capitol promising he would be with them. The demonstrations turned violent when attendees breached multiple police perimeters, and occupied, vandalized, and ransacked parts of the building for several hours. Four people died during that day. Of note only one person died resulting directly from the riots in the capitol building , and that was Ashli E. Babbitt. She was unarmed and was shot by law enforcement officials. No weapons were confiscated from the rioters.

• November 9:
  • Oath Keepers member Jessica Watkins sends text messages inviting people to the Oath Keepers’ basic training in Ohio. One message says, “I need you fighting fit by innaugeration [sic].”
  • Trump fires Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and replaces him with Christopher C. Miller as acting Secretary.
• November 14: Over 10,000 people gather in Freedom Plaza for the Million MAGA March in support of Trump’s election fraud claims. Speakers include Alex Jones and Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. Trump circles Freedom Plaza in his motorcade. Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and Three Percenters are in attendance. Proud Boys skirmish with counter-protesters throughout the day. At least 20 people are arrested and two D.C. police officers are injured. That evening, Trump praises his supporters who fought with counter-protesters. Near midnight, a massive “TRUMP LAW AND ORDER” banner is laid atop Black Lives Matter Plaza, then moved close to the White House.
• November 21: Women for America First files a permit application for a rally at the Lincoln Memorial on December 12. The group’s original application for a rally in Freedom Plaza was denied because of inauguration preparations.
• December 7: The Arizona Republican Party asks supporters whether they are willing to give their lives fighting over the election results.
• December 12:
  • Proud Boys march through Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., in advance of the pro-Trump rally scheduled later in the day.
  • Pro-Trump rallies in Washington, D.C., attract thousands of Trump supporters protesting the election results, including numerous Proud Boys. Speakers include Michael Flynn, Sebastian Gorka, Alex Jones, podcaster David Harris, Jr., Nick Fuentes, Mike Lindell and Oath Keeper’s leader Stewart Rhodes. Jones says, “Joe Biden is a globalist, and Joe Biden will be removed one way or another.” Harris says that if there were a civil war, “we’re the ones with all the guns.” Fuentes gets the crowd to chant, “Destroy the GOP! Destroy the GOP!” Flynn tells the crowd that he is certain that Trump will be the next President. Rhodes calls on Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act, and warns that not doing so would lead to a “much more bloody war.” Trump flies over the crowd several times in Marine One and tweets his appreciation for their support.

• December 14:
  • Biden wins the Electoral College vote.
  • Trump electors for Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, all of which Biden won in the election, cast purported electoral votes for Trump; The “votes” cast by the pro-Trump “alternate electors” have no legal standing. The pro-Trump groups in five states sent their fake electoral votes to the National Archives, but the National Archives did not forward these to Congress, because under the Electoral Count Act, only slates certified by the states are forward to Congress.
  • One America News releases a video about Trump’s reelection efforts with a voiceover stating, “Supporters of President Trump are continuing to fight for four more years, storming the nation’s capital to participate in dueling rallies.”

• Thirteen U.S. senators, including Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley, along with 100 Republican members of the House, vow to object to the election certification.
• Amy Kremer of Women for America First announces a rally at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C., on January 6 starting at 7 am.

Sunday, January 3

• Trump announces that he will be at the Ellipse rally.
• Dustin Stockton, a former Breitbart employee helping to plan the Ellipse event, helps move speakers to the January 5 rally to make room for Trump to speak at the Ellipse rally.
• A 1:00 pm protest at the U.S. Capitol is added to the January 6 rally announcement on the March to Save America website.
• An internal Capitol Police intelligence report warns that enraged protesters flanked by white supremacists and extreme militia groups are likely to arrive in Washington armed for battle and target Congress on January 6.
• The National Park Service issues a permit to “Rally to Revival” for the January 5 rally in Freedom Plaza. The permit notes that there is no march associated with the event.

Monday, January 4

• Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio is arrested in D.C. and charged for burning a Black Lives Matter banner on December 12 and possession of two high capacity firearm magazines that were in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Tuesday, January 5

• A rally is held at Freedom Plaza near the White House to protest the certification of votes making Joe Biden the President of the United States. The protest consists of a series of speakers and rallies. The first rally was the March to Save America (no marching) from 1-2PM, Stop the Steal from 3:30 to 5PM and the Eighty Percent Coalition speak from 5 to 8:30PM. Thousands of election protesters and Trump supporters gather in Freedom Plaza during the morning, in advance of planned protest events.

• Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund holds a teleconference with top law enforcement and military officials from D.C., including the FBI, U.S. Secret Service and the National Guard; Sund later wrote no entity provided any intelligence indicating that there would be a coordinated violent attack on the United States Capitol by thousands of well-equipped armed insurrectionists.
• U.S. House Representative Zoe Lofgren (D–CA) holds a teleconference with Capitol Police chief Steven Sund and House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving; Sund tells Lofgren that the National Guard is on standby and that Capitol Police are well-staffed and prepared for the protests.
• After speaking with Representative Lofgren, Sund reiterates to Representative Tim Ryan (D-OH) that Capitol Police are prepared.

Storming of the Capitol

Wednesday, January 6

• 8:17 a.m.: President Trump tweets allegations of vote fraud, stating,”States want to correct their votes, which they now know were based on irregularities and fraud, plus corrupt process never received legislative approval. All Mike Pence has to do is send them back to the States, AND WE WIN. Do it Mike, this is a time for extreme courage!”
• 9:45 a.m.: A Federal Protective Service liaison officer informs the Capitol Police that more than the permitted 30,000 protesters are expected at the Ellipse, the Freedom Plaza permit was increased from 5,000 to 30,000, and the protest outside the Sylven Theater is permitted for 15,000.
• 10:30 a.m.: Benjamin Philips splits from his group to park, not reuniting but later dying from a stroke at George Washington University Hospital.
• 11:00 a.m.: The Ellipse, located south of the White House, is filled with Trump supporters.
• 11:30 a.m.: Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher C. Miller participates in a tabletop exercise on Department of Defense contingency response options for the D.C. protests.

• 12:00 p.m.:
  • President Trump begins his over one-hour speech. He repeats allegations that the election was stolen, criticizing Vice President Mike Pence by name a half-dozen times, accusing fellow Republicans of not doing enough to back up his allegations, and stating that he would walk with the crowd to the Capitol, though he retires to the White House immediately after the speech.
  • A Federal Protective Service briefing email states that there are about 300 Proud Boys at the Capitol, a man in a tree near the Ellipse is holding what looks like a rifle, and some of the 25,000 people around the White House are hiding bags in bushes. The email warns that the Proud Boys are threatening to shutdown the downtown water system.
• 12:05 p.m.: Rep. Paul Gosar tweets that Biden should concede and demands his concession by the next morning.
• 12:20 p.m.: A Federal Protective Service officer writes in an email, “POTUS is encouraging the protesters to march to capitol grounds and continue protesting there.”
• 12:28 p.m.: A Federal Protective Service officer reports 10,000-15,000 people moving towards the Capitol down Pennsylvania, Constitution, and Madison Avenues.

• 12:30 p.m.: Crowds of pro-Trump supporters gather outside the U.S. Capitol building.
• 12:49 p.m.:
  • Capitol Police respond to a report of a possible explosive device at the Republican National Committee Headquarters, which is later identified as a pipe bomb. Shortly afterwards, a second pipe bomb is found at the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee. Buildings next to these headquarters are evacuated.
  • A police sweep of the area identifies a vehicle which held one handgun, an M4 Carbine assault rifle with loaded magazine, and components for 11 Molotov cocktails with homemade napalm. Around 6:30 p.m, the driver was apprehended carrying two unregistered handguns as he returned to the vehicle. He is not suspected of planting the pipe bombs.
• 12:53 p.m.: Rioters overwhelm police along the outer perimeter west of the Capitol building, pushing aside temporary fencing. Some protesters immediately follow, while others, at least initially, remain behind and admonish the others: “Don’t do it. You’re breaking the law.” By 1:03 p.m., a vanguard of rioters have overrun three layers of barricades and have forced police officers to the base of the west Capitol steps.
• 12:57 p.m.: Federal Protective Service officers report that the Capitol Police barricade on the west side of the Capitol building has been breached by a large group.
• 1:00 p.m.:
  • Senators and Vice President Pence walk to the House chamber.
  • Pence releases a letter stating that the Constitution prevents him from unilaterally interfering with the 2021 United States Electoral College vote count.
  • US Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund calls D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Contee, who deploys 100 officers to the Capitol complex, the earliest arriving within 10 minutes.
• 1:05 p.m.:
  • Congress meets in joint session to confirm Joe Biden’s electoral victory.
  • Acting Secretary of Defense Miller receives open source intelligence reports of demonstrators moving towards the U.S. Capitol.
• 1:09 p.m.: Chief Sund asks House Sergeant at Arms Paul D. Irving and Senate Sergeant at Arms Michael C. Stenger to declare an emergency and call for deployment of the National Guard. Irving and Stenger state that they will forward the request up their chains of command. Soon afterwards, aides to Congressional leaders arrive in Stenger’s office and are outraged to learn that he has not yet called for any reinforcement.
• 1:10 p.m.: President Trump ends his speech by encouraging the crowd to march to the Capitol: “We’re going to try and give them [Republicans] the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.”
• 1:12 p.m.: Rep. Paul Gosar (R–AZ) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) object to certifying the votes made in the 2020 United States presidential election in Arizona. The joint session separates into House and Senate chambers to debate the objection.
• 1:26 p.m.: The U.S. Capitol Police order evacuation of at least two buildings in the Capitol complex, including the Cannon House Office Building and the Madison Building of the Library of Congress.
• 1:30 p.m.:
  • Capitol Police are overwhelmed and forced to retreat up the steps of the Capitol.
  • Large numbers of Trump supporters march from the Ellipse 1.5 miles down Pennsylvania Avenue toward the Capitol.
• 1:34 p.m.: D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser requests via phone that Army Secretary Ryan D. McCarthy provide an unspecified number of additional forces.
• 1:35 p.m.: In Senate deliberations, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) warns that refusing to certify the results of the presidential election under false pretenses would push American democracy into a “death spiral”.
• 1:49 p.m.: Capitol Police Chief Sund requests immediate assistance from District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG) Commander Major General William J. Walker. Major General Walker loads guardsmen onto buses in anticipation of receiving permission from the Secretary of the Army to deploy.
• 1:50 p.m.: D.C. Metro Police on-scene commander Robert Glover declares a riot.
• 1:51 p.m.:
  • Trump supporter Alex Jones speaks from a bullhorn to the crowd on west side exhorting them to remain peaceful and to “not fight the police.” He directs them to “the other [East] side” where he claims they have a permit and a stage.
  • Radio talk show host and former FEMA director Michael D. Brown tweets that the people breaching Capitol security are likely antifa, Black Lives Matter protestors, or other insurgents disguised as Trump supporters, and suggests the attack could be a psychological warfare operation.
• 1:54 p.m.: Todd Herman, guest hosting The Rush Limbaugh Show, informs his large national radio audience of Brown’s claim that the people breaching security are not Trump supporters.

• 2:05 p.m.: Kevin Greeson is declared dead after suffering a heart attack outdoors on the Capitol grounds.

Rioters chase a lone Capitol Police officer up northwest stairs, where there are doors to the Senate chamber in both directions, as police inside the chamber attempt to lock doors. If the mob had arrived about a minute earlier, it would have been in sight of Vice President Pence as he was moved into an office about 100 feet from the landing. Officer Eugene Goodman leads the mob to backup in front of a set of Senate doors while senators inside attempt to evacuate.

As Representative Gosar speaks to the House against certifying Arizona’s electoral votes, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is removed from the chamber by her protective detail.

Federal Protective Service officers report that the Capitol has been breached.

2:16 p.m.: Federal Protective Service officers report that the House and Senate are being locked down.

2:20 p.m.: The House adjourns and starts to evacuate.

2:22 p.m.: Army Secretary McCarthy has a phone call with Mayor Bowser, D.C. Deputy Mayor John Falcicchio, Director of the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency Christopher Rodriguez, and leadership of the Metro Police in which additional DCNG support is requested.

2:24 p.m.: President Trump tweets,”Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

2:26 p.m.: D.C.’s homeland security director Chris Rodriquez coordinates a conference call with Mayor Bowser, the chiefs of the Capitol Police and Metro Police, and DCNG Maj. Gen. Walker. As the DCNG does not report to a governor, but to the President, Maj. Gen. Walker patched in the Office of the Secretary of the Army, noting that he would need Pentagon authorization to deploy. Lt. Gen. Walter E. Piatt, director of the Army Staff, noted that the Pentagon needed Capitol Police authorization to step onto Capitol grounds. Sund began describing the breach by rioters but the call became unintelligible as multiple people began asking questions at the same time. Metro Police Chief Robert Contee asked for clarification from Capitol Police Chief Sund: “Steve, are you requesting National Guard assistance at the Capitol?” to which Chief Sund replied, “I am making urgent, urgent, immediate request for National Guard assistance.” According to Sund, Lt. Gen. Piatt stated, “I don’t like the visual of the National Guard standing a police line with the Capitol in the background”, and that he prefer that the Guard relieve police posts around D.C. to allow police to deploy to the Capitol. Sund pleaded with Lt. Gen. Piatt to send the Guard, but Lt. Gen. Piatt stated that only Army Secretary McCarthy had the authority to approve such a request and he could not recommend that Secretary McCarthy approve the request for assistance directly to the Capitol. The D.C. officials were subsequently described as “flabbergasted” at this message. McCarthy would later state that he was not in this conference call because he was already entering a meeting with senior Department leadership. Piatt contests this description of the call, denying that he talked about visuals and stating that he stayed on the conference call while senior Defense Department officials were meeting. The Army falsely denied for two weeks that Lt. Gen. Charles A. Flynn – the Army deputy chief of staff for operations, plans and training – was in this call. His brother Michael Flynn, a retired Trump National Security Advisor, had pledged an oath to the QAnon conspiracy theory, though there are no indications that Lt. Gen. Flynn shares his brother’s beliefs.

2:26 p.m.: Trump calls Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), having misdialed Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL). Lee passes his phone to Tuberville, who informs Trump that Pence had just been evacuated from the Senate chamber. “I said ‘Mr President, they’ve taken the Vice President out. They want me to get off the phone, I gotta go’,” he recounted to reporters of his call.

2:26 p.m.: After receipt of a call from DC Mayor Muriel E. Bowser indicating that DoD had refused to send assistance to the U.S. Capitol, the Public Safety Secretary of Virginia, Brian Moran, dispatches the Virginia State Police to the US capitol as permitted by mutual aid agreement with DC.

2:28 p.m.: Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund reiterates his request for National Guard support to help shore up the perimeter of the Capitol.

2:30 p.m.:

Secretary Miller, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, and Army Secretary McCarthy meet to discuss Capitol Police and D.C. government requests.

Shortly before this time, the The Washington Times publishes a story falsely claiming facial recognition company XRVision identified antifa members among the crowd at the Capitol. The Times corrects the story the next day after BuzzFeed News reports that XRVision threatened the Times with legal action over the story. Before the correction, the story amasses 360,000 shares and likes on Facebook.

2:38 p.m.: President Trump tweets, “Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!”

• 2:44 p.m.: Insurrectionist Ashli Babbitt is shot by Capitol Police while attempting to force entry into the Speaker’s Lobby adjacent to the House chambers.
• 2:45 p.m.: Federal Protective Service officers report, “Shots fired 2nd floor house side inside the capitol.”
• 2:49 p.m.: After discussion with his chief of staff, Clark Mercer, the Governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, activates all available assets of the State of Virginia including the Virginia National Guard to aid the US capitol. Authorization from DoD required for legal deployment of Virginia National Guard in DC was not granted.
• 3:00 p.m.: Acting Defense Secretary Miller decides to deploy all available DCNG forces to reinforce Metro Police and Capitol Police as they attempt to reestablish security in the Capitol complex. Army Secretary McCarthy orders the D.C. National Guard to prepare Guardsmen to move from the D.C. Armory to the Capitol complex, pending formal approval from Secretary Miller.

• 3:10 p.m.: Fairfax County, Virginia, deputy county executive Dave Rohrer informs county officials that county police are being dispatched to assist Capitol Police in response to a mutual aid request.
• 3:13 p.m.: President Trump tweets, “I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”
• 3:15 p.m.:
  • House Speaker Pelosi calls the Governor of Virginia. The Governor of Virginia, Ralph Northam, confirms to House Speaker Pelosi that all assets of the State of Virginia including the National Guard are being sent to aid the U.S. Capitol.
  • First assets from Virginia begin rolling into DC.
• 3:19 p.m.: Army Secretary McCarthy has a phone call with Senator Schumer and House Speaker Pelosi about Mayor Bowser’s request. McCarthy explains that a full DCNG mobilization has been approved.

Several minutes later, members of both parties have a heated verbal discussion in the middle aisle in close proximity, breaking up when Pelosi called for order.
• 3:10 a.m.: The House rejects, 282–138, the Republican objection against the counting of Pennsylvania’s electoral votes.
• 3:24 a.m.: After all the objections are rejected, Congress completes the counting of the electoral votes, with Biden winning, 306–232; Vice President Pence affirms the election result, formally declaring Biden the winner.
• Shortly after Twitter unlocked Trump’s account, Trump released a video statement condemning the violence at the Capitol, saying that “a new administration will be inaugurated”, and that his “focus now turns to ensuring a smooth, orderly, and seamless transition of power” to the Biden administration.

Friday, January 8

• 10:00 am Chief Sund is notified by the new acting Senate Sergeant at Arms that his departure is to be effective January 8 not January 16 as previously agreed upon. Yogananda Pittman is sworn in as acting Chief of the US Capitol Police that afternoon. 
• President Trump tweets that he will not attend Biden’s inauguration ceremony on January 20. This is Trump’s last tweet before his permanent ban on Twitter the same day.
• Twitter permanently bans Trump from its platform, citing “the risk of further incitement of violence”.
• Parler, a platform allegedly used to plan the storming, is removed from the Google Play Store after the users on the app allegedly planned further violence at the Capitol.
• FBI assistant director Steven D’Antuono tells reporters that there is no indication that antifa members stormed the Capitol.

Saturday, January 9

• The flag outside the Capitol building is lowered to half-staff to pay respect to officer Sicknick who died the day before after suffering injuries in the riot.
• Citing posts that risked incitement of violence, Apple removes Parler from its App Store, stating Parler’s moderation procedures toward violence-inciting speech were insufficient.
• For similar reasons, Amazon Web Services announces it will terminate hosting services for Parler through its cloud servers at 11:59 p.m. on January 10; this will result in Parler’s complete shutdown, unless the platform can find another hosting service before it is removed from Amazon’s servers. Employee group Amazon Employees for Climate Justice had called on the company to terminate web hosting of the platform unless Parler changed its moderation policies, after Amazon reported 98 instances of posts featured on Parler that “clearly encourage and incite violence.”

Monday, January 11

• 2:59 a.m. (11:59 p.m. PST): Parler goes offline after being suspended from Amazon’s cloud servers for hosting violent content.
• The National Guard was authorized to send up to 15,000 troops to Washington as a security measure to safeguard the capital.
• The FBI bulletin disseminated to the media reported that armed far-right pro-Trump protests were planned at all 50 state capitols and at the United States Capitol from January 17 through January 20, 2021, Joe Biden’s Inauguration Day.

Wednesday, January 13

• President Trump is impeached for an unprecedented second time by the House of Representatives for the high crime of Incitement of Insurrection for “inciting violence against the Government of the United States.”
• The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) sends out a bulletin advising law enforcement agencies to be cautious when arresting suspects involved in the storming, especially of those who were spotted wearing body armor or “other armament” during the incident.

Thursday, January 19

• The Oregon Republican Party passes a resolution condemning the Republican House members who voted to impeach Trump that claims there is growing evidence the attack on the Capitol was a “false flag” operation designed to discredit Trump.

Wednesday, January 20

• In the inauguration of Joe Biden at the United States Capitol, former Vice President Joe Biden is sworn in as the 46th president of the United States. Senator Kamala Harris is sworn in as the 49th vice president of the United States. Numerous members of the DCNG, the NG of surrounding states, Capitol Police, and DC Police guard the closed-off premises.

Wednesday, January 27

• The Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department announces that a second officer present at the riot died by committing suicide. The Chief also mentions that many other officers are suffering from trauma related to the riot.
• Three Oath Keepers are indicted for planning with other Oath Keepers to commit violence at the Capitol on January 6.

Friday, February 19

• Six additional Oath Keepers are indicted for conspiring to commit violence at the Capitol.

President Trump’s January Complete Speech

Well, thank you very much. This is incredible.

Media will not show the magnitude of this crowd. Even I, when I turned on today, I looked, and I saw thousands of people here. But you don’t see hundreds of thousands of people behind you because they don’t want to show that.

We have hundreds of thousands of people here and I just want them to be recognized by the fake news media. Turn your cameras please and show what’s really happening out here because these people are not going to take it any longer. They’re not going to take it any longer. Go ahead. Turn your cameras, please. Would you show? They came from all over the world, actually, but they came from all over our country.

I just really want to see what they do. I just want to see how they covered. I’ve never seen anything like it. But it would be really great if we could be covered fairly by the media. The media is the biggest problem we have as far as I’m concerned, single biggest problem. The fake news and the Big tech.

Big tech is now coming into their own. We beat them four years ago. We surprised them. We took them by surprise and this year they rigged an election. They rigged it like they’ve never rigged an election before. And by the way, last night they didn’t do a bad job either if you notice.

I’m honest. And I just, again, I want to thank you. It’s just a great honor to have this kind of crowd and to be before you and hundreds of thousands of American patriots who are committed to the honesty of our elections and the integrity of our glorious republic.

All of us here today do not want to see our election victory stolen by emboldened radical-left Democrats, which is what they’re doing. And stolen by the fake news media. That’s what they’ve done and what they’re doing. We will never give up, we will never concede. It doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved.

Our country has had enough. We will not take it anymore and that’s what this is all about. And to use a favorite term that all of you people really came up with: We will stop the steal. Today I will lay out just some of the evidence proving that we won this election and we won it by a landslide. This was not a close election.

You know, I say, sometimes jokingly, but there’s no joke about it: I’ve been in two elections. I won them both and the second one, I won much bigger than the first. OK. Almost 75 million people voted for our campaign, the most of any incumbent president by far in the history of our country, 12 million more people than four years ago.

And I was told by the real pollsters — we do have real pollsters — they know that we were going to do well and we were going to win. What I was told, if I went from 63 million, which we had four years ago, to 66 million, there was no chance of losing. Well, we didn’t go to 66, we went to 75 million, and they say we lost. We didn’t lose.

And by the way, does anybody believe that Joe had 80 million votes? Does anybody believe that? He had 80 million computer votes. It’s a disgrace. There’s never been anything like that. You could take third-world countries. Just take a look. Take third-world countries. Their elections are more honest than what we’ve been going through in this country. It’s a disgrace. It’s a disgrace.

Even when you look at last night. They’re all running around like chickens with their heads cut off with boxes. Nobody knows what the hell is going on. There’s never been anything like this.

We will not let them silence your voices. We’re not going to let it happen, I’m not going to let it happen.

And I’d love to have if those tens of thousands of people would be allowed. The military, the secret service. And we want to thank you and the police law enforcement. Great. You’re doing a great job. But I’d love it if they could be allowed to come up here with us. Is that possible? Can you just let him come up, please?

And Rudy, you did a great job. He’s got guts. You know what? He’s got guts, unlike a lot of people in the Republican Party. He’s got guts. He fights, he fights.

And I’ll tell you. Thank you very much, John. Fantastic job. I watched. That’s a tough act to follow, those two. John is one of the most brilliant lawyers in the country, and he looked at this and he said, “What an absolute disgrace that this can be happening to our Constitution.”

And he looked at Mike Pence, and I hope Mike is going to do the right thing. I hope so. I hope so.

Because if Mike Pence does the right thing, we win the election. All he has to do, all this is, this is from the number one, or certainly one of the top, Constitutional lawyers in our country. He has the absolute right to do it. We’re supposed to protect our country, support our country, support our Constitution, and protect our constitution.

States want to revote. The states got defrauded. They were given false information. They voted on it. Now they want to recertify. They want it back. All Vice President Pence has to do is send it back to the states to recertify and we become president and you are the happiest people.

And I actually, I just spoke to Mike. I said: “Mike, that doesn’t take courage. What takes courage is to do nothing. That takes courage.” And then we’re stuck with a president who lost the election by a lot and we have to live with that for four more years. We’re just not going to let that happen.

Many of you have traveled from all across the nation to be here, and I want to thank you for the extraordinary love. That’s what it is. There’s never been a movement like this, ever, ever. For the extraordinary love for this amazing country, and this amazing movement, thank you.

By the way, this goes all the way back past the Washington Monument. You believe this? Look at this. That is. Unfortunately gave, they gave the press the prime seats. I can’t stand that.

No. But you look at that behind. I wish they’d flip those cameras and look behind you. That is the most amazing sight. When they make a mistake, you get to see it on television. Amazing. Amazing. All the way back.

And don’t worry, we will not take the name off the Washington Monument. We will not cancel culture.

You know they wanted to get rid of the Jefferson Memorial. Either take it down or just put somebody else in there. I don’t think that’s going to happen. It damn well better not. Although, with this administration, if this happens, it could happen. You’ll see some really bad things happen.

They’ll knock out Lincoln too, by the way. They’ve been taking his statue down. But then we signed a little law. You hurt our monuments, you hurt our heroes, you go to jail for 10 years, and everything stopped. You notice that? It stopped. It all stopped.

And they could use Rudy back in New York City. Rudy. They could use you. Your city’s going to hell. They want Rudy Giuliani back in New York. We’ll get a little younger version of Rudy. Is that OK, Rudy?

We’re gathered together in the heart of our nation’s capital for one very, very basic and simple reason: To save our democracy.

You know most candidates on election evening and, of course, this thing goes on so long. They still don’t have any idea what the votes are. We still have congressional seats under review. They have no idea. They’ve totally lost control. They’ve used the pandemic as a way of defrauding the people in a proper election.

But you know, you know, when you see this and when you see what’s happening. Number one, they all say, “Sir, we’ll never let it happen again.” I said, “That’s good. But what about eight weeks ago?” You know they try and get you to go.

They said, “Sir, in four years, you’re guaranteed.” I said: “I’m not interested right now. Do me a favor, go back eight weeks. I want to go back eight weeks. Let’s go back eight weeks.”

We want to go back and we want to get this right because we’re going to have somebody in there that should not be in there and our country will be destroyed and we’re not going to stand for that.

For years, Democrats have gotten away with election fraud and weak Republicans. And that’s what they are. There’s so many weak Republicans. And we have great ones. Jim Jordan and some of these guys, they’re out there fighting. The House guys are fighting. But it’s, it’s incredible.

Many of the Republicans, I helped them get in, I helped them get elected. I helped Mitch get elected. I helped. I could name 24 of them, let’s say, I won’t bore you with it. And then all of a sudden you have something like this. It’s like, “Oh gee, maybe I’ll talk to the president sometime later.” No, it’s amazing.

They’re weak Republicans, they’re pathetic Republicans and that’s what happens.

If this happened to the Democrats, there’d be hell all over the country going on. There’d be hell all over the country. But just remember this: You’re stronger, you’re smarter, you’ve got more going than anybody. And they try and demean everybody having to do with us. And you’re the real people, you’re the people that built this nation. You’re not the people that tore down our nation.

The weak Republicans, and that’s it. I really believe it. I think I’m going to use the term, the weak Republicans. You’ve got a lot of them. And you got a lot of great ones. But you got a lot of weak ones. They’ve turned a blind eye, even as Democrats enacted policies that chipped away our jobs, weakened our military, threw open our borders and put America last.

Did you see the other day where Joe Biden said, I want to get rid of the America First policy? What’s that all about? Get rid of. How do you say I want to get rid of America First? Even if you’re going to do it, don’t talk about it, right? Unbelievable what we have to go through. What we have to go through.

And you have to get your people to fight. And if they don’t fight, we have to primary the hell out of the ones that don’t fight. You primary them. We’re going to. We’re going to let you know who they are. I can already tell you, frankly.

But this year, using the pretext of the China virus and the scam of mail-in ballots, Democrats attempted the most brazen and outrageous election theft and there’s never been anything like this. So pure theft in American history. Everybody knows it.

That election, our election was over at 10 o’clock in the evening. We’re leading Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, by hundreds of thousands of votes.

And then late in the evening, or early in the morning, boom, these explosions of bull****.

And all of a sudden. All of a sudden it started to happen.

(Audience chants: “Bull****.”)

Don’t forget when Romney got beat. Romney, hey. Did you see his? I wonder if he enjoyed his flight in last night. But when Romney got beaten, you know, he stands up like you’re more typical, “Well, I’d like to congratulate the victor.” The victor? Who is the victor, Mitt? “I’d like to congratulate.” They don’t go and look at the facts. No, I don’t know. He got, he got slaughtered. Probably, maybe it was OK, maybe it was. But that’s what happened.

But we look at the facts and our election was so corrupt that in the history of this country we’ve never seen anything like it. You can go all the way back.

You know, America is blessed with elections. All over the world they talk about our elections. You know what the world says about us now? They said, we don’t have free and fair elections.

And you know what else? We don’t have a free and fair press. Our media is not free, it’s not fair. It suppresses thought, it suppresses speech and it’s become the enemy of the people. It’s become the enemy of the people. It’s the biggest problem we have in this country.

No third-world countries would even attempt to do what we caught them doing. And you’ll hear about that in just a few minutes.

Republicans are, Republicans are constantly fighting like a boxer with his hands tied behind his back. It’s like a boxer. And we want to be so nice. We want to be so respectful of everybody, including bad people. And we’re going to have to fight much harder.

And Mike Pence is going to have to come through for us, and if he doesn’t, that will be a, a sad day for our country because you’re sworn to uphold our Constitution.

Now, it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. And after this, we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you, we’re going to walk down, we’re going to walk down.

Anyone you want, but I think right here, we’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women, and we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them.

Because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong. We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated.

I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.

Today we will see whether Republicans stand strong for integrity of our elections. But whether or not they stand strong for our country, our country. Our country has been under siege for a long time. Far longer than this four-year period. We’ve set it on a much greater course. So much, and we, I thought, you know, four more years. I thought it would be easy.

We’ve created the greatest economy in history. We rebuilt our military. We get you the biggest tax cuts in history. Right? We got you the biggest regulation cuts. There’s no president, whether it’s four years, eight years or in one case more, got anywhere near the regulation cuts.

Used to take 20 years to get a highway approved, now we’re down to two. I want to get it down to one, but we’re down to two. And it may get rejected for environmental or safety reasons, but we got it down to safety.

We created Space Force, We, we, we. Look at what we did. Our military has been totally rebuilt. So we create Space Force which, by and of itself, is a major achievement for an administration. And with us it’s one of so many different things.

Right to Try. Everybody know about Right to Try. We did things that nobody ever thought possible. We took care of our vets, our vets. The VA now has the highest rating, 91%. The highest rating that it’s had from the beginning, 91% approval rating. Always, you watch the VA, it was on television every night, people living in a horrible, horrible manner. We got that done. We got accountability done. We got it so that now in the VA, you don’t have to wait for four weeks, six weeks, eight weeks, four months to see a doctor. If you can’t get a doctor, you go outside, you get the doctor. You have it taken care of and we pay the doctor.

And we’ve not only made life wonderful for so many people, we’ve saved tremendous amounts of money, far secondarily, but we’ve saved a lot of money. And now we have the right to fire bad people in the VA. We had 9,000 people that treated our veterans horribly. In primetime, they would not have treated our veterans badly. But they treated our veterans horribly.

And we have what’s called the account, VA Accountability Act. And the accountability says if we see somebody in there that doesn’t treat our vets well or they steal, they rob, they do things badly, we say: “Joe you’re fired. Get out of here.” Before you couldn’t do that. You couldn’t do that before.

So we’ve taken care of things, we’ve done things like nobody’s ever thought possible. And that’s part of the reason that many people don’t like us, because we’ve done too much.

But we’ve done it quickly and we were going to sit home and watch a big victory and everybody had us down for a victory. It was going to be great and now we’re out here fighting. I said to somebody, I was going to take a few days and relax after our big electoral victory. 10 o’clock it was over. But I was going to take a few days.

And I can say this. Since our election, I believe, which was such a catastrophe, when I watch. And even these guys knew what happened. They know what happened. They’re saying: “Wow, Pennsylvania’s insurmountable. Wow, Wisconsin.” Look at the big leads we had, right. Even though the press said we would lose Wisconsin by 17 points. Even though the press said, Ohio’s going to be close, we set a record; Florida’s going to be close, we set a record; Texas is going to be close, Texas is going to be close, we set a record.

And we set a record with Hispanic, with the Black community, we set a record with everybody.

Today we see a very important event though. Because right over there, right there, we see the event going to take place. And I’m going to be watching. Because history is going to be made. We’re going to see whether or not we have great and courageous leaders, or whether or not we have leaders that should be ashamed of themselves throughout history, throughout eternity they’ll be ashamed.

And you know what? If they do the wrong thing, we should never, ever forget that they did. Never forget. We should never ever forget.

With only three of the seven states in question, we win the presidency of the United States. And by the way, it’s much more important today than it was 24 hours ago, because I don’t. I spoke to David Perdue, what a great person, and Kelly Loeffler, two great people, but it was a setup.

And you know, I said, “We have no backline anymore.” The only backline, the only line of demarcation, the only line that we have is the veto of the president of the United States. So this is now, what we’re doing, a far more important election than it was two days ago.

I want to thank the more than 140 members of the House. Those are warriors. They’re over there working like you’ve never seen before. Studying, talking, actually going all the way back, studying the roots of the Constitution, because they know we have the right to send a bad vote that was illegally gotten.

They gave these people bad things to vote for and they voted because what did they know? And then when they found out a few weeks later, again, it took them four years to devise this screen.

And the only unhappy person in the United States, single most unhappy, is Hillary Clinton. Because she said: “Why didn’t you do this for me four years ago? Why didn’t you do this for me four years ago? Change the votes, 10,000 in Michigan. You could have changed the whole thing.” But she’s not too happy. You know, you don’t see her anymore. What happened? Where’s Hillary? Where is she?

But I want to thank all of those congressmen and women. I also want to thank our 13, most courageous members of the U.S. Senate. Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Ron Johnson, Senator Josh Hawley, Kelly Loeffler.

And Kelly Loeffler, I’ll tell you, she has been, she’s been so great. She worked so hard. So let’s give her and David a little special hand because it was rigged against them. Let’s give her and David.

Kelly Loeffler, David Purdue. They fought a good race. They never had a shot. That equipment should never have been allowed to be used, and I was telling these people don’t let him use this stuff.

Marsha Blackburn, terrific person. Mike Braun, Indiana. Steve Daines, great guy. Bill Hagerty, John Kennedy, James Lankford, Cynthia Lummis, Tommy Tuberville, the coach, and Roger Marshall. We want to thank them. Senators that stepped up, we want to thank them.

I actually think though, it takes, again, more courage not to step up, and I think a lot of those people are going to find that out and you better start looking at your leadership, because your leadership has led you down the tubes.

You know, we don’t want to give $2,000 to people. We want to give them $600. Oh, great. How does that play politically? Pretty good? And this has nothing to do with politics, but how does it play politically?

China destroyed these people. We didn’t destroy. China destroy them, totally destroyed them. We want to give them $600 and they just wouldn’t change.

I said give them $2,000, we’ll pay it back. We’ll pay it back fast. You already owe 26 trillion, give them a couple of bucks. Let them live. Give them a couple of bucks. And some of the people here disagree with me on that, but I just say, “Look, you’ve got to let people live.”

And how does that play though? OK. Number one, it’s the right thing to do. But how does that play politically? I think it’s the primary reason, one of the primary reasons, the other was just pure cheating. That was the primary, super primary reason. But you can’t do that, you got to use your head.

As you know, the media has constantly asserted the outrageous lie that there was no evidence of widespread fraud. Have you ever seen these people? While there is no evidence of fraud. Oh, really? Well, I’m going to read you pages. I hope you don’t get bored listening to it. Promise? Don’t get bored listening to it, all those hundreds of thousands of people back there. Move them up, please, yeah.

All they, all these people, don’t get bored, don’t get angry at me because you’re going to get bored because it’s so much.

The American people do not believe the corrupt, fake news anymore. They have ruined their reputation. But you know, it used to be that they’d argue with me. I’d fight. So I’d fight, they’d fight, I’d fight, they’d fight. Pop pop. You’d believe me, you’d believe them. Somebody comes out. You know, they had their point of view, I had my point of view, but you’d have an argument.

Now what they do is they go silent. It’s called suppression and that’s what happens in a communist country. That’s what they do, they suppress. You don’t fight with them anymore. Unless it’s a bad story. They have a little bad story about me, they make it 10 times worse and it’s a major headline.

But Hunter Biden, they don’t talk about him. What happened to Hunter? Where’s Hunter? Where’s Hunter? They don’t talk about him. They’ll watch, all the sets will go off. Well, they can’t do that because they get good ratings. Their ratings are too good. Now, where’s Hunter? You know.

And how come Joe is allowed to give a billion dollars of money to get rid of the prosecutor in Ukraine? How does that happen? I’d ask you that question. How does that happen? Can you imagine if I said that? If I said that it would be a whole different ballgame.

And how come Hunter gets three and a half million dollars from the mayor of Moscow’s wife, and gets hundreds of thousands of dollars to sit on an energy board, even though he admits he has no knowledge of energy? And millions of dollars up front.

And how come they go into China and they leave with billions of dollars to manage. “Have you managed money before?” “No, I haven’t.” “Oh, that’s good. Here’s about 3 billion.” No, they don’t talk about that.

No, we have a corrupt media. They’ve gone silent. They’ve gone dead. I now realize how good it was if you go back 10 years, I realized how good, even though I didn’t necessarily love them, I realized how good. It was like a cleansing motion, right?

But we don’t have that anymore. We don’t have a fair media anymore. It’s suppression. And you have to be very careful with that and they’ve lost all credibility in this country.

We will not be intimidated into accepting the hoaxes and the lies that we’ve been forced to believe.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve amassed overwhelming evidence about a fake election. This is the presidential election. Last night was a little bit better because of the fact that we had a lot of eyes watching one specific state, but they cheated like hell anyway.

You have one of the dumbest governors in the United States. And you know when I endorsed him, and I didn’t know this guy, at the request of David Perdue, he said, “Friend of mine’s running for governor.” “What’s his name?” And you know the rest. He was in fourth place, fifth place. I don’t know, he was, he was doing poorly. I endorse him, he went like a rocket ship and he won.

And then I had to beat Stacey Abrams with this guy, Brian Kemp. I had to beat Stacey Abrams. And I had to beat Oprah, used to be a friend of mine. You know, I was on her last show, her last week, she picked the five outstanding people. I don’t think she thinks that any more. Once I ran for president, I didn’t notice there were too many calls coming in from Oprah. Believe it or not, she used to like me. But I was one of the five outstanding people.

And I had a campaign against Michelle Obama and Barack Hussein Obama, against Stacey.

And I had Brian Kemp, who weighs 130 pounds. He said he played offensive line in football. I’m trying to figure that out. I’m still trying to figure that out. He said that the other night, “I was an offensive lineman.” I’m saying: “Really? That must have been a very small team.” But I look at that and I look at what’s happened and he turned out to be a disaster. This stuff happens.

You know, look, I’m not happy with the Supreme Court. They love to rule against me. I picked three people. I fought like hell for them. One in particular, I fought. They all said, “Sir, cut him loose.” He’s killing the senators. You know, very loyal senators, they’re very loyal people, “Sir, cut him loose, he’s killing us, sir, cut him loose.” I must have gotten half of the senators.

I said: “No, I can’t do that, it’s unfair to him and it’s unfair to the family. He didn’t do anything wrong.” They made up stories, they’re all made-up stories. He didn’t do anything wrong. “Cut him loose, sir.” I said, “No, I won’t do that. We got him through.” And you know what, they couldn’t give a damn. They couldn’t give a damn. Let him rule the right way.

But it almost seems that they’re all going out of their way to hurt all of us and to hurt our country. To hurt our country.

You know, I read a story in one of the newspapers recently how I control the three Supreme Court justices. I control them. They’re puppets.

I read it about Bill Barr, that he’s my personal attorney. That he’ll do anything for me. And I said, “You know, it really is genius.” Because what they do is that, and it makes it really impossible for them to ever give you a victory, because all of a sudden Bill Barr changed. If you hadn’t noticed. I like Bill Barr, but he changed, because he didn’t want to be considered my personal attorney.

And the Supreme Court, they rule against me so much. You know why? Because the story is — I haven’t spoken to any of them, any of them, since virtually they got in — but the story is that they’re my puppets. Right? That they’re puppets.

And now the only way they can get out of that because they hate that it’s not good in the social circuit. And the only way they get out is to rule against Trump. So let’s rule against Trump. And they do that. So I want to congratulate them.

But it shows you the media’s genius. In fact, probably if I was the media, I’d do it the same way. I hate to say it. But we got to get them straightened out.

Today, for the sake of our democracy, for the sake of our Constitution, and for the sake of our children, we lay out the case for the entire world to hear. You want to hear it?

(Audience responds: “Yeah”)

In every single swing state, local officials, state officials, almost all Democrats, made illegal and unconstitutional changes to election procedures without the mandated approvals by the state legislatures.

That these changes paved a way for fraud on a scale never seen before. I think we go a long way outside of our country when I say that.

So, just in a nutshell, you can’t make a change or voting for a federal election unless the state legislature approves it. No judge can do it. Nobody can do it. Only a legislature.

So as an example, in Pennsylvania, or whatever, you have a Republican legislature, you have a Democrat mayor, and you have a lot of Democrats all over the place. They go to the legislature. The legislature laughs at them, says we’re not going to do that. They say, thank you very much and they go and make the changes themselves, they do it anyway. And that’s totally illegal. That’s totally illegal. You can’t do that.

In Pennsylvania, the Democrat secretary of state and the Democrat state Supreme Court justices illegally abolished the signature verification requirements just 11 days prior to the election.

So think of what they did. No longer is there signature verification. Oh, that’s OK. We want voter ID by the way. But no longer is there a signature verification. Eleven days before the election they say we don’t want it. You know why they don’t want to? Because they want to cheat. That’s the only reason.

Who would even think of that? We don’t want to verify a signature?

There were over 205,000 more ballots counted in Pennsylvania. Think of this, you had 205,000 more ballots than you had voters. That means you had two. Where did they come from? You know where they came from? Somebody’s imagination, whatever they needed.

So in Pennsylvania, you had 205,000 more votes than you had voters. And the number is actually much greater than that now. That was as of a week ago. And this is a mathematical impossibility unless you want to say it’s a total fraud.

So Pennsylvania was defrauded. Over 8,000 ballots in Pennsylvania were cast by people whose names and dates of birth match individuals who died in 2020 and prior to the election. Think of that. Dead people, lots of dead people, thousands. And some dead people actually requested an application. That bothers me even more.

Not only are they voting, they want an application to vote. One of them was 29 years ago, died. It’s incredible. Over 14,000 ballots were cast by out-of-state voters, so these are voters that don’t live in this state.

And by the way, these numbers are what they call outcome-determinative, meaning these numbers far surpass. I lost by a very little bit. These numbers are massive, massive.

More than 10,000 votes in Pennsylvania were illegally counted, even though they were received after Election Day. In other words, they were received after Election Day. Let’s count them anyway.

And what they did in many cases is, they did fraud. They took the date and they moved it back so that it no longer is after Election Day. And more than 60,000 ballots in Pennsylvania were reported received back. They got back before they were ever supposedly mailed out. In other words, you got the ballot back before you mailed it, which is also logically and logistically impossible, right?

Think of that one. You got the ballot back. Let’s send the ballots. Oh, they’ve already been sent. But we got the ballot back before they were sent. I don’t think that’s too good, right?

Twenty-five thousand ballots in Pennsylvania were requested by nursing home residents, all in a single giant batch, not legal, indicating an enormous, illegal ballot harvesting operation. You’re not allowed to do it, it’s against the law.

The day before the election, the state of Pennsylvania reported the number of absentee ballots that had been sent out. Yet this number was suddenly and drastically increased by 400,000 people. It was increased, nobody knows where it came from, by 400,000 ballots, one day after the election.

It remains totally unexplained. They said, “Well, ah, we can’t figure that.” Now, that’s many, many times what it would take to overthrow the state. Just that one element. Four hundred thousand ballots appeared from nowhere right after the election.

By the way, Pennsylvania has now seen all of this. They didn’t know because it was so quick. They had a vote. They voted. But now they see all this stuff, it’s all come to light. Doesn’t happen that fast. And they want to recertify their votes. They want to recertify. But the only way that can happen is if Mike Pence agrees to send it back. Mike Pence has to agree to send it back.

(Audience chants: “Send it back.”)

And many people in Congress want it sent back.

And think of what you’re doing. Let’s say you don’t do it. Somebody says, “Well, we have to obey the Constitution.” And you are, because you’re protecting our country and you’re protecting the Constitution. So you are.

But think of what happens. Let’s say they’re stiffs and they’re stupid people, and they say, well, we really have no choice. Even though Pennsylvania and other states want to redo their votes. They want to see the numbers. They already have the numbers. Go very quickly. And they want to redo their legislature because many of these votes were taken, as I said, because it wasn’t approved by their legislature. You know, that, in itself, is legal. And then you have the scam, and that’s all of the things that we’re talking about.

But think of this. If you don’t do that, that means you will have a president of the United States for four years, with his wonderful son. You will have a president who lost all of these states. Or you will have a president, to put it another way, who was voted on by a bunch of stupid people who lost all of these states.

You will have an illegitimate president. That’s what you’ll have. And we can’t let that happen.

These are the facts that you won’t hear from the fake news media. It’s all part of the suppression effort. They don’t want to talk about it. They don’t want to talk about it. In fact, when I started talking about that, I guarantee you, a lot of the television sets and a lot of those cameras went off. And that’s a lot of cameras back there. But a lot of them went off.

But these are the things you don’t hear about. You don’t hear what you just heard. I’m going to go over a few more states. But you don’t hear it by the people who want to deceive you and demoralize you and control you. Big tech, media.

Just like the suppression polls that said we’re going lose Wisconsin by 17 points. Well, we won Wisconsin. They don’t have it that way because they lost just by a little sliver. But they had me down the day before, Washington Post/ABC poll, down 17 points.

I called up a real pollster. I said, “What is that?” “Sir, that’s called a suppression poll. I think you’re going to win Wisconsin, sir.”

I said, “But why don’t they make it four or five points?” Because then people vote. But when you’re down 17, they say, “Hey, I’m not going to waste my time. I love the president, but there’s no way.”

Despite that, despite that, we won Wisconsin. It’s going to see. I mean, you’ll see. But that’s called suppression because a lot of people when they see that. It’s very interesting. This pollster said, “Sir, if you’re down three, four, or five people vote. When you go down 17, they say, ‘Let’s save. Let’s go and have dinner and let’s watch the presidential defeat tonight on television, darling.'”

And just like the radical left tries to blacklist you on social media. Every time I put out a tweet, that’s, even if it’s totally correct, totally correct, I get a flag. I get a flag.

And they also don’t let you get out. You know, on Twitter, it’s very hard to come onto my account. It’s very hard to get out a message. They don’t let the message get out nearly like they should. But I’ve had many people say, “I can’t get on your Twitter.” I don’t care about Twitter. Twitter’s bad news. They’re all bad news.

But you know what, if you want to, if you want to get out a message and if you want to go through Big tech, social media, they are really, if you’re a conservative, if you’re a Republican, if you have a big voice, I guess they call it shadow banned, right? Shadow banned. They shadow ban you, and it should be illegal.

I’ve been telling these Republicans, get rid of Section 230. And for some reason, Mitch and the group, they don’t want to put it in there and they don’t realize that that’s going to be the end of the Republican Party as we know it, but it’s never going to be the end of us. Never. Let them get out. Let, let the weak ones get out. This is a time for strength.

They also want to indoctrinate your children in school by teaching them things that aren’t so. They want to indoctrinate your children. It’s all part of the comprehensive assault on our democracy, and the American people are finally standing up and saying no. This crowd is, again, a testament to it.

I did no advertising, I did nothing. You do have some groups that are big supporters. I want to thank that, Amy, and everybody. We have some incredible supporters, incredible. But we didn’t do anything. This just happened. Two months ago, we had a massive crowd come down to Washington. I said, “What are they there for?” “Sir, they’re there for you.”

We have nothing to do with it. These groups are for, they’re forming all over the United States. And we got to remember, in a year from now, you’re going to start working on Congress and we got to get rid of the weak Congress, people, the ones that aren’t any good, the Liz Cheneys of the world. We got to get rid of them. We got to get rid.

You know, she never wants a soldier brought home — I brought a lot of our soldiers home. I don’t know, somewhat like it. They’re in countries that nobody even knows the name, nobody knows where they are. They’re dying. They’re great, but they’re dying. They’re losing their arms, their legs, their face. I brought them back home, largely back home. Afghanistan, Iraq.

Remember, I used to say in the old days: “Don’t go in Iraq. But if you go in, keep the oil.” We didn’t keep the oil. So stupid. So stupid these people. And Iraq has billions and billions of dollars now in the bank. And what did we do? We got nothing. We never get. But we do actually, we kept the oil here or we get, we did good.

We got rid of the ISIS caliphate. We got rid of plenty of different things that everybody knows and the rebuilding of our military in three years. People said it couldn’t be done. And it was all made in the USA, all made in the USA, best equipment in the world.

In Wisconsin, corrupt Democrat-run cities deployed more than 500 illegal, unmanned, unsecured drop boxes, which collected a minimum of 91,000 unlawful votes. It was razor-thin, the loss. This one thing alone is much more than we would need. But there are many things.

They have these lockboxes. And, you know, they’d pick them up and they disappear for two days. People would say where’s that box? They disappeared. Nobody even knew where the hell it was.

In addition, over 170,000 absentee votes were counted in Wisconsin without a valid absentee ballot application. So they had a vote, but they had no application, and that’s illegal in Wisconsin. Meaning those votes were blatantly done in opposition to state law and they came 100% from Democrat areas such as Milwaukee and Madison, 100%.

In Madison, 17,000 votes were deposited in so-called human drop boxes. You know what that is, right? Where operatives stuff thousands of unsecured ballots into duffle bags on park benches across the city, in complete defiance of cease-and-desist letters from state legislature.

Your state legislatures said don’t do it. They’re the only ones that can approve it. They gave tens of thousands of votes. They came in in duffle bags. Where the hell did they come from?

According to eyewitness testimony, Postal Service workers in Wisconsin were also instructed to illegally backdate approximately 100,000 ballots. The margin of difference in Wisconsin was less than 20,000 votes. Each one of these things alone wins us the state. Great state. We love the state. We won the state.

In Georgia, your secretary of state who, I can’t believe this guy’s a Republican. He loves recording telephone conversations. You know, that was? I thought it was a great conversation personally. So did a lot of other. People love that conversation because it says what’s going on.

These people are crooked. They’re 100%, in my opinion, one of the most corrupt, between your governor and your secretary of state. And now you have it again last night. Just take a look at what happened. What a mess.

And the Democrat Party operatives entered into an illegal and unconstitution — unconstitutional settlement agreement that drastically weakened signature verification and other election security procedures.

Stacey Abrams. She took them to lunch. And I beat her two years ago with a bad candidate, Brian Kemp. But they took, the Democrats took the Republicans to lunch because the secretary of state had no clue what the hell was happening. Unless he did have a clue. That’s interesting. Maybe he was with the other side.

But we’ve been trying to get verifications of signatures in Fulton County, they won’t let us do it. The only reason they won’t is because we’ll find things in the hundreds of thousands. Why wouldn’t they let us verify signatures in Fulton County, which is known for being very corrupt. They won’t do it. They go to some other county where you would live.

I said, “That’s not the problem.” The problem is Fulton County, home of Stacey Abrams. She did a good job, I congratulate her. But it was done in such a way that we can’t let this stuff happen. We won’t have a country if it happens.

As a result, Georgia’s absentee ballot rejection rate was more than 10 times lower than previous levels because the criteria was so off.

Forty-eight counties in Georgia, with thousands and thousands of votes, rejected zero ballots. There wasn’t one ballot. In other words, in a year in which more mail-in ballots were sent than ever before, and more people were voting by mail for the first time, the rejection rate was drastically lower than it had ever been before.

The only way this can be explained is if tens of thousands of illegitimate votes were added to the tally. That’s the only way you could explain it.

By the way, you’re talking about tens of thousands. If Georgia had merely rejected the same number of unlawful ballots as in other years, they should have been approximately 45,000 ballots rejected. Far more than what we needed to win, just over 11,000. They should find those votes. They should absolutely find that. Just over 11,000 votes, that’s all we need. They defrauded us out of a win in Georgia, and we’re not going to forget it.

There’s only one reason the Democrats could possibly want to eliminate signature matching, opposed voter ID, and stop citizenship confirmation. “Are you a citizenship?” You’re not allowed to ask that question, because they want to steal the election.

The radical left knows exactly what they’re doing. They’re ruthless and it’s time that somebody did something about it. And Mike Pence, I hope you’re going to stand up for the good of our Constitution and for the good of our country. And if you’re not, I’m going to be very disappointed in you. I will tell you right now. I’m not hearing good stories.

In Fulton County, Republican poll watchers were ejected, in some cases, physically from the room under the false pretense of a pipe burst. Water main burst, everybody leave. Which we now know was a total lie.

Then election officials pull boxes, Democrats, and suitcases of ballots out from under a table. You all saw it on television, totally fraudulent. And illegally scanned them for nearly two hours, totally unsupervised. Tens of thousands of votes. This act coincided with a mysterious vote dump of up to 100,000 votes for Joe Biden, almost none for Trump. Oh, that sounds fair. That was at 1:34 a.m.

The Georgia secretary of state and pathetic governor of Georgia, have reached, although he says I’m a great president. You know, I sort of maybe have to change. He said the other day, “Yes, I do. I disagree with president, but he’s been a great president.” Good, thanks. Thank you very much.

Because of him and others, you have Brian Kemp. Vote him the hell out of office, please. Well, his rates are so low. You know, his approval rating now, I think it just reached a record low.

They’ve rejected five separate appeals for an independent and comprehensive audit of signatures in Fulton County. Even without an audit, the number of fraudulent ballots that we’ve identified across the state is staggering.

Over 10,300 ballots in Georgia were cast by individuals whose names and dates of birth match Georgia residents who died in 2020 and prior to the election.

More than 2,500 ballots were cast by individuals whose names and dates of birth match incarcerated felons in Georgia prison. People who are not allowed to vote.

More than 4,500 illegal ballots were cast by individuals who do not appear on the state’s own voter rolls.

Over 18,000 illegal ballots were cast by individuals who registered to vote using an address listed as vacant, according to the Postal Service.

At least 88,000 ballots in Georgia were cast by people whose registrations were illegally backdated.

Sixty-six thousand votes, each one of these is far more than we need. Sixty-six thousand votes in Georgia were cast by individuals under the legal voting age.

And at least 15,000 ballots were cast by individuals who moved out of the state prior to November 3 election. They say they moved right back. They moved right back. Oh, they moved out, they moved right back. OK. They missed Georgia that much. I do. I love Georgia, but it’s a corrupt system.

Despite all of this, the margin in Georgia is only 11,779 votes.

Each and every one of these issues is enough to give us a victory in Georgia, a big beautiful victory. Make no mistake, this election was stolen from you, from me and from the country.

And not a single swing state has conducted a comprehensive audit to remove the illegal ballots. This should absolutely occur in every single contested state before the election is certified.

In the state of Arizona, over 36,000 ballots were illegally cast by non-citizens. Two thousand ballots were returned with no address. More than 22,000 ballots were returned before they were ever supposedly mailed out. They returned, but we haven’t mailed them yet.

Eleven thousand six hundred more ballots and votes were counted, more than there were actual voters. You see that? So you have more votes again than you have voters.

One hundred and fifty thousand people registered in Maricopa County after the registration deadline. One hundred and three thousand ballots in the county were sent for electronic adjudication with no Republican observers.

In Clark County, Nevada, the accuracy settings on signature verification machines were purposely lowered before they were used to count over 130,000 ballots.

If you signed your name as Santa Claus, it would go through.

There were also more than 42,000 double votes in Nevada. Over 150,000 people were hurt so badly by what took place. And 1,500 ballots were cast by individuals whose names and dates of birth match Nevada residents who died in 2020 prior to November 3 election. More than 8,000 votes were cast by individuals who had no address and probably didn’t live there.

The margin in Nevada is down at a very low number, any of these things would have taken care of the situation. We would have won Nevada, also. Every one of these we’re going over, we win.

In Michigan, quickly, the secretary of state, a real great one, flooded the state with unsolicited mail-in ballot applications sent to every person on the rolls in direct violation of state law.

More than 17,000 Michigan ballots were cast by individuals whose names and dates of birth match people who were deceased.

In Wayne County, that’s a great one. That’s Detroit. One hundred and seventy-four thousand ballots were counted without being tied to an actual registered voter. Nobody knows where they came from.

Also, in Wayne County, poll watchers observed canvassers rescanning batches of ballots over and over again, up to three or four or five times.

In Detroit, turnout was 139% of registered voters. Think of that. So you had 139% of the people in Detroit voting. This is in Michigan. Detroit, Michigan.

A career employee of the Detroit, City of Detroit, testified under penalty of perjury that she witnessed city workers coaching voters to vote straight Democrat while accompanying them to watch who they voted for. When a Republican came in, they wouldn’t talk to him.

The same worker was instructed not to ask for any voter ID and not to attempt to validate any signatures if they were Democrats. She also told to illegally, and was told, backdate ballots received after the deadline and reports that thousands and thousands of ballots were improperly backdated. That’s Michigan.

Four witnesses have testified under penalty of perjury that after officials in Detroit announced the last votes had been counted, tens of thousands of additional ballots arrived without required envelopes. Every single one was for a Democrat. I got no votes.

At 6:31 a.m. in the early morning hours after voting had ended, Michigan suddenly reported 147,000 votes. An astounding 94% went to Joe Biden, who campaigned brilliantly from his basement. Only a couple of percentage points went to Trump.

Such gigantic and one-sided vote dumps were only observed in a few swing states and they were observed in the states where it was necessary.

You know what’s interesting? President Obama beat Biden in every state other than the swing states where Biden killed them, but the swing states were the ones that mattered.

They’re always just enough to push Joe Biden barely into the lead. We were ahead by a lot and within a number of hours we were losing by a little.

In addition, there is the highly troubling matter of Dominion Voting Systems. In one Michigan county alone, 6,000 votes were switched from Trump to Biden and the same systems are used in the majority of states in our country.

Senator William Ligon, a great gentleman, chairman of Georgia’s senate judiciary subcommittee. Senator Ligon, highly respected, on elections has written a letter describing his concerns with Dominion in Georgia.

He wrote, and I quote, The Dominion Voting Machines employed in Fulton County had an astronomical and astounding 93.67% error rate. It’s only wrong 93% of the time in the scanning of ballots requiring a review panel to adjudicate or determine the voter’s interest in over 106,000 ballots out of a total of 113,000.

Think of it. You go in and you vote and then they tell people who you supposed to be voting for. They make up whatever they want. Nobody’s ever even heard.

They adjudicate your vote. They say, Well, we don’t think Trump wants to vote for Trump. We think he wants to vote for Biden. Put it down for Biden.

The national average for such an error rate is far less than 1% and yet you’re at 93%. The source of this astronomical error rate must be identified to determine if these machines were set up or destroyed to allow for a third party to disregard the actual ballot cast by the registered voter.

The letter continues. There is clear evidence that tens of thousands of votes were switched from President Trump to former Vice President Biden in several counties in Georgia.

For example, in Bibb County, President Trump was reported to have 29,391 votes at 9:11 p.m. Eastern time, while simultaneously Vice President Joe Biden was reported to have 17,213. Minutes later, just minutes, at the next update, these vote numbers switched with President Trump going way down to 17,000 and Biden going way up to 29,391. And that was very quick, a 12,000 vote switch all in Mr. Biden’s favor.

So, I mean, I could go on and on about this fraud that took place in every state, and all of these legislatures want this back. I don’t want to do it to you because I love you and it’s freezing out here. But I could just go on forever. I can tell you this.

(Audience chants: “We love you.”)

So when you hear, when you hear, while there is no evidence to prove any wrongdoing, this is the most fraudulent thing anybody has, this is a criminal enterprise. This is a criminal enterprise. And the press will say, and I’m sure they won’t put any of that on there, because that’s no good. And you ever see, while there is no evidence to back President Trump’s assertion.

I could go on for another hour reading this stuff to you and telling you about it. There’s never been anything like it.

Think about it. Detroit had more votes than it had voters. Pennsylvania had 205,000 more votes than it had more. But you don’t have to go any. Between that, I think that’s almost better than dead people if you think, right? More votes than they had voters. And many other states also.

It’s a disgrace that the United States of America, tens of millions of people, are allowed to go vote without so much as even showing identification.

In no state is there any question or effort made to verify the identity, citizenship, residency or eligibility of the votes cast.

The Republicans have to get tougher. You’re not going to have a Republican Party if you don’t get tougher. They want to play so straight. They want to play so, sir, yes, the United States. The Constitution doesn’t allow me to send them back to the States. Well, I say, yes it does, because the Constitution says you have to protect our country and you have to protect our Constitution, and you can’t vote on fraud. And fraud breaks up everything, doesn’t it? When you catch somebody in a fraud, you’re allowed to go by very different rules.

So I hope Mike has the courage to do what he has to do. And I hope he doesn’t listen to the RINOs and the stupid people that he’s listening to.

It is also widely understood that the voter rolls are crammed full of non-citizens, felons and people who have moved out of state and individuals who are otherwise ineligible to vote. Yet Democrats oppose every effort to clean up their voter rolls. They don’t want to clean them up. They’re loaded.

And how many people here know other people, that when there are hundreds of thousands and then millions of ballots got sent out, got three, four, five, six, and I heard one, who got seven ballots. And then they say you didn’t quite make it, sir.

We won in a landslide. This was a landslide. They said it’s not American to challenge the election. This the most corrupt election in the history, maybe of the world.

You know, you could go third-world countries, but I don’t think they had hundreds of thousands of votes and they don’t have voters for them. I mean no matter where you go, nobody would think this.

In fact, it’s so egregious, it’s so bad that a lot of people don’t even believe it. It’s so crazy that people don’t even believe it. It can’t be true. So they don’t believe it.

This is not just a matter of domestic politics — this is a matter of national security.

So today, in addition to challenging the certification of the election, I’m calling on Congress and the state legislatures to quickly pass sweeping election reforms, and you better do it before we have no country left.

Today is not the end, it’s just the beginning.

With your help over the last four years, we built the greatest political movement in the history of our country and nobody even challenges that.

I say that over and over, and I never get challenged by the fakeness, and they challenge almost everything we say.

But our fight against the big donors, big media, big tech, and others is just getting started. This is the greatest in history. There’s never been a movement like that.

You look back there all the way to the Washington Monument. It’s hard to believe.

We must stop the steal and then we must ensure that such outrageous election fraud never happens again, can never be allowed to happen again.

But we’re going forward. We’ll take care of going forward. We’ve got to take care of going back. Don’t let them talk. OK, well, we promised. I’ve had a lot of people. Sir, you’re at 96% for four years. I said I’m not interested right now. I’m interested in right there.

With your help, we will finally pass powerful requirements for voter ID. You need an ID to cash a check. You need an ID to go to a bank, to buy alcohol, to drive a car. Every person should need to show an ID in order to cast your most important thing, a vote.

We will also require proof of American citizenship in order to vote in American elections. We just had a good victory in court on that one, actually.

We will ban ballot harvesting and prohibit the use of unsecured drop boxes to commit rampant fraud. These drop boxes are fraudulent. Therefore, they get disapp — they disappear, and then all of a sudden they show up. It’s fraudulent.

We will stop the practice of universal unsolicited mail-in balloting.

We will clean up the voter rolls that ensure that every single person who casts a vote is a citizen of our country, a resident of the state in which they vote and their vote is cast in a lawful and honest manner.

We will restore the vital civic tradition of in-person voting on Election Day so that voters can be fully informed when they make their choice.

We will finally hold big tech accountable. And if these people had courage and guts, they would get rid of Section 230, something that no other company, no other person in America, in the world has.

All of these tech monopolies are going to abuse their power and interfere in our elections, and it has to be stopped. And the Republicans have to get a lot tougher, and so should the Democrats. They should be regulated, investigated, and brought to justice under the fullest extent of the law. They’re totally breaking the law.

Together, we will drain the Washington swamp and we will clean up the corruption in our nation’s capital. We have done a big job on it, but you think it’s easy. It’s a dirty business. It’s a dirty business. You have a lot of bad people out there.

Despite everything we’ve been through, looking out all over this country and seeing fantastic crowds. Although this, I think, is our all-time record. I think you have 250,000 people. 250,000.

Looking out at all the amazing patriots here today, I have never been more confident in our nation’s future. Well, I have to say, we have to be a little bit careful. That’s a nice statement, but we have to be a little careful with that statement.

If we allow this group of people to illegally take over our country because it’s illegal when the votes are illegal when the way they got there is illegal when the states that vote are given false and fraudulent information.

We are the greatest country on Earth and we are headed and were headed in the right direction.

You know, the wall is built. We’re doing record numbers at the wall. Now, they want to take down the wall. Let’s let everyone flow in. Let’s let everybody flow in. We did a great job in the wall. Remember, the wall, they said it could never be done. One of the largest infrastructure projects we’ve ever had in this country, and it’s had a tremendous impact, that we got rid of catch and release. We got rid of all of this stuff that we had to live with.

But now, the caravans, I think Biden’s getting in, the caravans are forming again. They want to come in again and rip off our country. Can’t let it happen.

As this enormous crowd shows, we have truth and justice on our side. We have a deep and enduring love for America in our hearts. We love our country.

We have overwhelming pride in this great country and we have it deep in our souls. Together, we are determined to defend and preserve government of the people, by the people and for the people.

Our brightest days are before us. Our greatest achievements, still away.

I think one of our great achievements will be election security. Because nobody until I came along had any idea how corrupt our elections were.

And again, most people would stand there at 9 o’clock in the evening and say I want to thank you very much, and they go off to some other life. But I said something’s wrong here, something is really wrong, can have happened.

And we fight. We fight like hell. And if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.

Our exciting adventures and boldest endeavors have not yet begun. My fellow Americans, for our movement, for our children, and for our beloved country.

And I say this despite all that’s happened. The best is yet to come.

So we’re going to, we’re going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue. I love Pennsylvania Avenue. And we’re going to the Capitol, and we’re going to try and give.

The Democrats are hopeless — they never vote for anything. Not even one vote. But we’re going to try and give our Republicans, the weak ones because the strong ones don’t need any of our help. We’re going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.

So let’s walk down Pennsylvania Avenue.

A timeline of what Trump said before Jan. 6 Capitol riot

In the weeks leading up to the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol, President Donald Trump repeatedly said he wanted his supporters to fight Congress on accepting the electoral college results that showed Joe Biden won.

“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators, and congressmen and women,” Trump told his supporters shortly before the Capitol assault. “We’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.”

His supporters listened. Thousands of Trump supporters, waving Trump or Confederate flags and wearing MAGA gear, descended upon the Capitol. They overwhelmed law enforcement, pushed past police barricades, and temporarily stopped Congress from counting electoral votes. 

Trump’s supporters had gathered earlier in the day for the “Save America” rally organized by a group called “Women for America First.” Trump allies, including former campaign staffers, helped promote the event, ABC News reported. Trump’s White House schedule showed he was to speak at the rally that day.

Some of Trump’s fiercest allies also made incendiary statements at the rally. “Let’s have trial by combat,” said Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani, warming up the crowd for Trump. 

We looked closely at the words Trump used to urge his supporters to show up and “fight” on his behalf Jan. 6. With Trump’s Twitter account permanently suspended, we used archives of his tweets by Factba.se and the Trump Twitter archive. 

We contacted spokespersons for Trump and did not get a response.What Trump said before Jan. 6

For months before Election Day, Trump repeatedly told his supporters falsehoods about voting, including that Democrats had “rigged” the election. Trump ramped up the rhetoric after he lost the election, filing court challenges in battleground states trying to get judges to reverse the outcome. After he racked up defeats in court, Trump’s tactics turned toward ordering senators to “fight” for him.

“.@senatemajldr and Republican Senators have to get tougher, or you won’t have a Republican Party anymore. We won the Presidential Election, by a lot. FIGHT FOR IT. Don’t let them take it away!” he tweeted Dec. 18.

In December, Trump also issued a battle cry to his supporters broadly, encouraging them to gather on his behalf Jan. 6.

Dec. 12: On the day of pro-Trump rallies in Washington, D.C., Trump tweeted  “Wow! Thousands of people forming in Washington (D.C.) for Stop the Steal. Didn’t know about this, but I’ll be seeing them! #MAGA.” 

Dec. 12: “WE HAVE JUST BEGUN TO FIGHT!!!” Trump said in another tweet.

Dec. 19:  Trump tweeted his praise for a report by his adviser Peter Navarro alleging election fraud: “A great report by Peter. Statistically impossible to have lost the 2020 Election. Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!”

Dec. 26: Trump tweeted: “The ‘Justice’ Department and the FBI have done nothing about the 2020 Presidential Election Voter Fraud, the biggest SCAM in our nation’s history, despite overwhelming evidence. They should be ashamed. History will remember. Never give up. See everyone in D.C. on January 6th.”

Dec. 27: “See you in Washington, DC, on January 6th. Don’t miss it. Information to follow!” Trump tweeted.

Jan. 1: “The BIG Protest Rally in Washington, D.C., will take place at 11.00 A.M. on January 6th. Locational details to follow. StopTheSteal!” Trump tweeted.

Jan. 1: “January 6th. See you in D.C.” Trump tweeted.

Jan. 3: Trump retweeted @JenLawrence21, an organizer of a March for Trump bus tour: “Now we will bring it to DC on Jan 6 and PROUDLY stand beside you!”

Jan. 3: Trump retweeted Amy Kremer, another promoter of the march who said, “We are excited to announce the site of our January 6th event will be The Ellipse in the President’s Park, just steps from the White House!”

Jan. 3: Trump retweeted @CodeMonkeyZ: “If you are planning to attend peaceful protests in DC on the 6th, i recommend wearing a body camera. The more video angles of that day the better.”

Jan. 4: At a rally in Georgia the day before the Senate runoffs, Trump repeated his grievances about his own election. He spoke about a continued fight, both for himself and the Senate.

“If the liberal Democrats take the Senate and the White House — and they’re not taking this White House — we’re going to fight like hell, I’ll tell you right now,” Trump said.

“We’re going to take it back,” Trump said.What Trump said before the riot 

Trump’s final direction to supporters came during his “Save America” rally around noon Jan. 6, when he repeated his Pants on Fire claim that he won.

“Our country has had enough,” Trump told his supporters. “We will not take it anymore and that’s what this is all about. To use a favorite term that all of you people really came up with, we will stop the steal.”

The crowd later chanted: “Fight for Trump! Fight for Trump! Fight for Trump!” Trump thanked them.

Trump praised the crowd for traveling from across the nation and for “the extraordinary love.” 

“We’re gathered together in the heart of our nation’s capital for one very, very basic and simple reason: to save our democracy,” Trump said.

Trump repeatedly said there was a need to “fight.” After he bashed “weak” Republicans and Biden, he said: “Unbelievable, what we have to go through, what we have to go through and you have to get your people to fight. If they don’t fight, we have to primary the hell out of the ones that don’t fight. You primary them. We’re going to let you know who they are, I can already tell you, frankly.”

He continued with the fighting metaphors: “Republicans are constantly fighting like a boxer with his hands tied behind his back. It’s like a boxer, and we want to be so nice. We want to be so respectful of everybody, including bad people. We’re going to have to fight much harder, and Mike Pence is going to have to come through for us. And if he doesn’t, that will be a sad day for our country because you’re sworn to uphold our constitution. Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy.” 

Trump then invited the crowd to go to the Capitol.

“And after this, we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you. We’re going to walk down. We’re going to walk down any one you want, but I think right here. We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators, and congressmen and women. We’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them, because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.”

Trump used the word “peacefully” once at his rally:

“We have come to demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors who have been lawfully slated, lawfully slated. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard. Today we will see whether Republicans stand strong for integrity of our elections, but whether or not they stand strong for our country, our country. Our country has been under siege for a long time, far longer than this four-year period.”What Trump said during and after the riot

By the time Trump finished his speech, crowds had already started to gather outside the Capitol.

Trump never joined them, but did tweet during the afternoon and night and released a video statement.

“Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!” he tweeted at 2:38 p.m. By that point, the mob had already shattered windows as they pushed inside the building.

His video statement repeated false claims about the fraudulent election and said, “We have to have peace. So go home. We love you. You’re very special.”

He rehashed those themes in his final tweet of the night. It ended with these words: “Remember this day forever!”

IGNORED BY THE MEDIA ELITES AND FBI: List of 20 Individuals at the Capitol on January 6th – All Appear to be Connected to Antifa or Far Left Groups

For weeks the FBI, Democrats, and the fake news media have insisted there was no Antifa or far-left activist infiltration of the January 6th protests where activists stormed the US Capitol.

We already know this is false.  The individuals who entered the US Capitol and caused damage on January 6th were not all Trump supporters. 

Known members of Antifa were inside the Capitol and there was even an Antifa event called for that day at 11 AM nearby at the Washington Monument organized by John Sullivan that was closer to the US Capitol than the Ellipse where President Trump spoke to half a million supporters.

Recently The Gateway Pundit put together a list of 20 individuals who were at the Capitol on January 6th.  We are asking law enforcement and internet sleuths to help us identify these individuals who do not appear to be Trump supporters.  Some appear to be Antifa and others are known to be members of Antifa.

We looked at hours of video footage and created a list of some of the most violent individuals at the Capitol and others inciting violence and partaking in activities that Antifa is known for.  Many of these individuals appear to be related to Antifa and some have already been identified:

Persons of Interest Numbers 1 and 2

2 Individuals – 1 Adult Male (John Sullivan) & 1 Adult Female (Jade Sacker)

Approximately 20 Minutes Before Ashli Babbitt’s Murder – Inside Capitol Building

Inciting a Riot / Impersonating MAGA – John Sullivan arranged an Antifa event at the Capitol on January 6th and was there at the Capitol building to film the massive crowd of people. He was wearing a MAGA hat and mingling with the Trump supporters as one of them. He was accompanied by Jade Sacker who has connections to NPR and CNN who was also filming. When they breached the capitol building, John can be heard saying things like “We need to burn this B*&tch down!” and corralling people to go further into the building. When John and Jade were standing in the Rotunda, Jade exclaims “You were right, we did it!”, and John replied “I was trying to tell you… I couldn’t say much. You just have to watch my chat. Is this not going to be the best film you ever made in your life?” Clearly illustrating that they knew of and were part of a plan to breach the Capitol building.

John was also in the direct vicinity of the murder of Ashli Babbitt, and he was actively trying to convince the law enforcement officers to stand down and allow them through the closed doors. This ultimately ended with Ashli Babbitt being shot and killed by Capitol police from the other side of the closed door.  Because Sullivan was behind bringing in Antifa to the event he is likely responsible for the most violence inside the Capitol and a possible accomplice to the death of Ashli Babbitt.

2 Individuals – 2 Adult Males

At the time of Ashli Babbitt’s Murder – Inside Capitol Building

Inciting a Riot / Destruction of Federal Property – Individual wearing the red MAGA hat and yellow ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ flag draped around the front of his chest, in possession of a Kevlar helmet. He handed the Kevlar helmet to the individual wearing the fur hat and black t-shirt. Both individuals began aggressively hitting and kicking the glass door as officers stepped aside and watched. The individual wearing the fur hat removed his hat and began hitting the glass door with the Kevlar helmet. Ashli Babbitt attempted to climb through the door and she was shot and killed.  Then individual number 1 went down the stairs and changed his clothes standing next to the police.

Persons of Interest Numbers 5, 6 and 7

3 Individuals – 2 Adult Males & 1 Adult Female

4:15 PM – Near capitol steps, under tree cover

Acting suspicious – Attempting to conceal “MAGA” apparel. In possession of protective vests. Dressed in all black w/ black gear and black backpacks – similar to the attire of known Antifa agitators. The individual filming sneaks up behind them, says “Caught Em!” and then runs away from the three individuals. When the individuals realized they had been filmed, one or more of them chased the person filming demanding that he “Delete that!!”. It also appears as though the three individuals may have been inside the capitol at some point; on the ground near their belongings, there is a floor marker from inside the capitol.

Person of Interest Number 8

1 Individual – 1 Adult Male

12:53 PM – Near capitol perimeter fencing

Inciting a Riot – Individual aggressively throws the gate on the ground and breaches the perimeter of the restricted area. He proceeds to walk up and down the fence line yelling at the crowd of individuals on the other side of the gate, encouraging/demanding that they follow him toward the restricted area of the Capitol grounds. Dressed in black w/ combat style gear / protective vest – similar to the attire of known Antifa agitators. He appears to be alone.

Persons of Interest Numbers 9, 10 and 11

3 Individuals – 2 Adult Males / 1 Adult Female

Video Timestamp 02:06:00 – Outside of Capitol Building

Suspicious Activity / Inciting a Riot – Two male individuals were dressed in protective gear, carrying backpacks. They were inciting the riot and encouraging people to follow them to breach the capitol building. The female appears to be with the two men.

Person of Interest Number 12

1 Individual – 1 Adult Male or Female

Video Timestamp 02:26:00 – Outside of Capitol Building

Suspicious Activity – Individual dressed in protective gear with a backpack was pepper-sprayed. Their response was “Well at least we get $1,000.00 guys.”. This individual is also seen in the vicinity of Ashli Babbitt’s murder.

Person of Interest Number 13

1 Individual – Operative with “Red Cross tape on backpack.”

It is well-known that Antifa is highly organized and commonly appoints a “medic” role during their planned black bloc street violence. The “medic” typically has no medical training and is often seen assaulting their opposition whether it’s police or Trump supporters.

During the US Capitol protests, a “medic” is seen walking the halls before Ashli Babbit was shot dead by Capitol Hill police.

This is an Antifa tactic. When was the last time you saw an assigned “medic” at a Trump rally? Never-right? Because there is never violence at a Trump rally unlike the BLM or Antifa riots.

This man should be identified.

Suspicious Activities related to Inciting a Riot and Setting up Photo Shoots of people attacking the police: Individuals were setting up photoshoots and attacking police.  These two individuals were recognized from previous Portland riots.

5 Individuals – 5 Adult Males

Appear to be removing weapons from the Capitol Building:  As we reported previously these individuals appear to be removing weapons from the Capitol in a coordinated fashion.  Crowding around a small window so difficult to see what was going on.

This list of individuals appear to be coordinated.  They were attempting to incite the crowd.  They also were attempting to discredit Trump supporters at the Capital by wearing Trump gear.  Some if not all were involved in violent activities.  They all appear to be connected to Antifa.  Some are known to be connected to Antifa.

This is our initial list of agitators and individuals who appear to be related to Antifa who were at the Capitol on January 6th.  We ask law enforcement to identify and investigate these individuals who appear to be committing crimes and were involved in instigating a riot on that day.

UPDATE: We previously reported on the “pink hat lady” who was barking orders to activists inside the US Capitol. She is also seen smashing a window with a large pole.

The woman was identified and later arrested.
She is a mother of 8 children!
