I am updating this article mainly because since I first wrote it, I now have a much more impartial search engine to use than Google. I now have DuckDuckGo to use for my more sensitive searches. So I am going to try and answer the question once and for all, is Soros out to destroy our country and is he a tool of China and the globalists?

Is Soros Destroying this Country?

Social media users have been sharing an image online that makes several disparaging and false claims about George Soros. Some of these claims include Soros being a former Nazi, Soros “swearing to destroy the U.S.A.”, Soros owning ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter, and Soros paying for protesters.George Soros is a billionaire philanthropist and founder of Open Society Foundations. He has been the target of multiple conspiracy theories and misinformation on social media.  Open Society Foundations told Reuters via email that the claims made toward Soros in these posts are “false” and “do a disservice to the very bedrock of our democracy, as enshrined in the First Amendment.”

(1) Soros is not a former Nazi: Reuters debunked a false claim that a photograph shows a young Soros in a Nazi uniform. During the time Nazis were active, Soros would not have met the age requirements to be in the Schutzstaffel. Soros and his family were Hungarian Jews who lived in Budapest during the war, disguising their identities for safety. In 1947 at the age of 17, Soros moved to London to attend university.  By the time Soros was 17, the fall of Nazi Germany had already happened. Soros could not possibly have been involved in the Nazi party which was active between 1920-1945. He is also a Hungarian Jew, further disproving this theory.

(2)Soros never swore to “destroy the USA”: Reuters found no evidence of Soros ever saying this. An older version of the quote attributes it to a Newsweek interview but there is no evidence Soros said this in their archive. One article quotes Steve Bannon comparing politics to war, saying, “They fight, look at [George] Soros and these other NGOs…they destroy you.” The article also states that, according to Bannon, Soros threatened to “destroy him personally.”

(3) George Soros does not “own” ANTIFA or Black Lives Matter: A spokesperson for Open Society Foundations told Reuters via email: “We proudly support organizations that promote civic engagement and champion the right of all Americans to petition their government for redress of grievances. Those protesting the death of Mr. Floyd and police brutality across the nation do so out of a deep and abiding concern for country; they don’t do so for pay from these foundations or any other, as some cynics claim.”

Black Lives Matter is a largely horizontal, grassroots, global organization. Its co-founders, Opal Tometi, Patrisse Cullors, and Alicia Garza started the movement in 2013, after the death of Trayvon Martin. The co-founders recently told the New Yorker that Black Lives Matter “has always been somewhat decentralized” and operates in a horizontal manner: “We have always said the power goes on in the local chapter because they know what is going on”.  The organization recently set up a $12 million grant to help organizations fighting institutional racism, after an upsurge in donations amid the current protests. Beyoncé and Prince are among the celebrities who have donated to Black Lives Matter in previous years. Open Society Foundations donates to groups worldwide. Some of their previous donations – including to Black Lives Matter and Planned Parenthood – have been subject to controversy in the U.S. It is unclear if the foundation has donated to Black Lives Matter again in the last month.  Antifa, short for “anti-fascist,” is an amorphous movement whose adherents oppose people or groups they consider authoritarian or racist, often using aggressive tactics, according to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which monitors extremists. Horizontal in nature and largely lacking official organization, it is unclear how Antifa is funded, if at all.

(4)Soros did not pay for protesters after Trump’s election: Following Trump’s 2016 election win, some far-right claims suggested actors including Soros funded the ‘Not My President’ protests. Open Society Foundations denied paying these protesters in any way. Soros has been mistakenly accused of sponsoring protests after Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court appointment and protests against racism in Ferguson, Missouri. Open Society Foundations recently explained in a tweet: “We do not pay protesters. Neither does our founder George Soros. Claims that we do serve to delegitimize those who are exercising their Constitutionally-protected right to protest peacefully and petition their government for redress of grievances.”

VERDICT

False. Conspiracy theories about George Soros visible in this post are unfounded. This article was produced by the Reuters Fact Check team. Read more about our work to fact-check social media posts.

They say George Soros hires protesters and rents buses to transport them. Some say he has people stash piles of bricks to be hurled into glass storefronts or at police. George Soros, the billionaire investor and philanthropist who has long been a target of conspiracy theories, is now being falsely accused of orchestrating and funding the protests over police killings of Black people that have roiled the United States. Amplified by a growing number of people on the far right, including some Republican leaders, online posts about Soros have skyrocketed in recent weeks.

They have been accompanied by online ads bought by conservative groups that call on authorities to “investigate George Soros for funding domestic terrorism and his decades-long corruption.” Soros, 89, has donated billions of dollars of his personal wealth to liberal and anti-authoritarian causes around the world, making him a favored target among many on the right. The Hungarian-American, who is Jewish, has also been the subject of anti-Semitic attacks and conspiracy theories for decades.

The new wave began as nationwide demonstrations emerged over George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police. Some insist Soros financed the protests, while others say he colluded with police to fake Floyd’s death last month. But all available evidence suggests the protests are what they seem: gatherings of thousands of Americans upset about police brutality and racial injustice. “I think partly it’s an attempt to distract from the real matters at hand — the pandemic, the protests or the Black Lives Matter movement,” Laura Silber, chief communications officer for Soros’ philanthropic Open Society Foundations, said of the theories. “It’s pretty demeaning to the people out there protesting when someone says they’re all paid. It’s insulting.”

A look at some of the claims:

— Soros pays protesters. No evidence has been presented to suggest demonstrators were paid by Soros or his organizations. It’s a new take on an old hoax: past versions claimed Soros paid for a long list of other events, including the 2017 Women’s March held just after President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

— Soros pays to transport protesters. Last week, a photo claiming to show two buses emblazoned with the words “Soros Riot Dance Squad” got widespread attention. The photo was cited as proof of Soros’ involvement in the protests, but it was bogus. The original photo showed two unmarked buses; someone later doctored it to add the language supposedly implicating Soros.

— Soros organizes stashing piles of bricks near protests. Several false claims involving stockpiles of bricks have been debunked, and no evidence has turned up showing they were purposefully placed.

Experts who study conspiracy theories say the new claims about Soros are a way to delegitimize the protests and the actual reasons behind them. Some see anti-Semitism, or a new spin on the age-old hoax that a shadowy cabal of rich men — whether it’s the Illuminati, the Rothschilds, the Rockefellers, Bill Gates or Soros — is manipulating world events.

The theories have had real-world consequences. In 2018, amid news of caravans of migrants making their way toward the U.S.-Mexico border, online misinformation about Soros was linked to violence. Cesar Sayoc, a Florida man who was obsessed with Trump, mentioned Soros dozens of times on social media before mailing pipe bombs to newsrooms, top Democrats and Soros himself.

Despite significant scrutiny, no evidence was ever found to tie the caravan to Soros. Trump, however, helped fan the flames when asked whether Soros was involved. “I wouldn’t be surprised. A lot of people say yes,” the president said. Still, some Republicans have begun pushing back on false claims of Soros’ connection to the protests and those spreading the rumors. After several Republican Party chair people in a Texas county shared posts claiming Soros was behind the demonstrations, the state party leader called on them to resign.

Experts say conspiracy theories can become a problem when they lead to threats of violence or cause people to lose trust in important institutions. They can fade into the background only to reemerge at times of crisis. “Conspiracy theories are like themselves viruses,” said Josh Introne, a Syracuse University information studies professor who researches conspiracy theories. “The characters may change a little, and the theory itself may mutate. But they stick around.” Billionaire philanthropist George Soros has been accused for years of directly funding and even orchestrating protests. This includes false claims that Soros financially supported the first national Women’s March and organized the Charlottesville, Va., protests and counter-protests in 2017. Open Society Foundations is a liberal grant-making network that is “the world’s largest private funder of independent groups working for justice, democratic governance, and human rights.” Their network funds programs in more than 120 countries, including work in the United States that “focuses on immigration and criminal justice reform, improving democratic participation, and supporting free and independent media.” The Open Society Foundations’ official Twitter account responded to her tweet that they “oppose all violence and do not pay people to protest” and that these were “baseless allegations.”

An Open Society Foundations representative told PolitiFact that the foundation “supports the First Amendment right of all Americans to make their voices heard and petition their government for redress of grievances.” However, when it comes to rioting, “George Soros and the foundations oppose violence in any and all forms,” they said. The foundation does give grants every one or two years to U.S. organizations that work to “advance racial justice and to make police forces more accountable to the communities they serve.” They then listed a few, including the Community Resource Hub for Safety and Accountability, a website that keeps a database of resources and grassroot organizations related to policing in the United States.

PolitiFact could find no evidence that Soros or the Open Society Foundations had contributed to any organization that financed street protests in Minneapolis. Owens also claimed that the Open Society Foundations gave $33 million to the Black Lives Matter movement. The claim that George Soros funded the Ferguson protests and Black Lives Matter was checked by Snopes in 2015, and it received a mixed rating. Snopes said that Open Society Foundations has donated $33 million to organizations that have worked with Black Lives Matter or worked to raise awareness during the Ferguson-related protests. However, they had never given money to groups for the express purpose of organizing protests with the movement. The representative from Open Society Foundations said that their grants are made to organizations to help them “support communities and advance policy change.”

We didn’t find any evidence that the foundation has given money directly to the Black Lives Matter movement. The most recent connection they have with the organization is their 2018 grant of $279,860 to Release Leads, a UK organization that mostly focuses on international drug use education and policy reform, but also organizes public speaking events that feature the Black Lives Matter movement in the UK.

Our ruling

Owens’ tweet that Soros was “funding the chaos” in Minneapolis through Open Society Foundations is unproven. She continued to claim that the foundation had paid protesters after Open Society Foundations denied it on Twitter. There is no evidence that Soros or the foundation had given any grants to organizations that funded and organized “the chaos” in Minneapolis. We rate this claim False.

(Updated 8/9/2021)

I continue to hear comments made about George Soros and his affects on the United States. So I am going to do more research to see if I can find out more information on the matter. In the addendum section I have posted information from two fox shows discussing the subject of George Soros.

9 Things You Need To Know About George Soros

While the high-profile politicians on the left receive most of the attention, people tend to forget that they are only able to push their agenda if they’ve got the money to do so. One of the major sources for that money: radical leftist billionaire George Soros, who is single-handedly funding many of the left’s progressive projects. Here are nine things you need to know about him.

2. Soros comes from an anti-Semitic Jewish family and was a Nazi collaborator. “My mother was quite anti-Semitic, and ashamed of being Jewish,” Soros said in an interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes. “Given the culture in which one lived, being Jewish was a clear-cut stigma, disadvantage, a handicap-and, therefore, there was always the desire to transcend it, to escape it.”

Soros later said in the interview that he did not feel any remorse “about confiscating property from Jews as a teenager.”

“I don’t deny the Jews their right to a national existence–but I don’t want to be part of it,” Soros said.

Soros is a rabid anti-Israel advocate, and has compared Israel to the Nazis.

3. Soros basically funds the leftist mainstream media. The Media Research Center chronicled back in 2011 how Soros has ties to over 30 news outlets in the mainstream media. For instance, at the time of the MRC report, the Soros-funded Pro-Publica’s Journalism Advisory Board featured the following journalists:

Abramson, who has since been fired from the Times, is now a columnist for The GuardianTucker is no longer the editor at the AJC, but is a syndicated columnist and commentator.

The following members of the media have also been on the boards or advisory boards of Soros groups as well:

Amanpour is now the CNN’s chief international correspondent and host of Amanpour. Thompson is now the deputy editor of The Atlantic, Norris now works for the The Race Card ProjectBronstein has since left Hearst for a bigger role at Soros-funded Center for Investigative Reporting, and Boardman is now the Dean of the School of Media and Communication at Temple University.

Additionally, the CRI lists The Washington PostSalon, CNN and ABC News as “media partners.”

Soros also funds the Clinton-allied Media Matters organization, which numerous media outlets – including The Los Angeles Times and The New York Times – have used for content.

4. Soros created a “Shadow Party” of leftist organizations that basically have control of the Democrat Party. According to Discover the Networks, the McCain-Feingold law allowed for organizations called “527 committees,” defined as independent groups that could produce “issue-oriented ads, voter-education initiatives, get-out-the-vote drives, and other ‘party-building’ activities’” that moved the Democrat Party further to the left. Some of these organizations included MoveOn.org and Center for American Progress.

5. Soros is bankrolling Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Investor’s Business Daily reports that Soros gave $9 million to pro-Clinton Super PACs and “was able to dictate State Department policy in Albania.” Soros also recently had dinner with Clinton’s vice-president, Tim Kaine.

6. Soros is connected with Donald Trump. Soros funded the building of Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago to the tune $160 million. In fact, the two had a cozy relationship at one point, according to The Daily Beast.

In 2011, Trump even told conservatives to “forget Soros, leave him alone, he’s got enough problems.”

While Soros is committed to defeating Trump, he did help prop up Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) in the primary, siphoning off votes from Sen. Ted Cruz and paving the way for Trump to win. It’s not outside of the realm of possibility that Soros, believing his old buddy Trump wouldn’t stand a chance against Clinton, made sure that he would be the nominee over Cruz.

7. Soros’ Open Society Foundation says that Europe’s refugee crisis should be viewed as the “new normal.” A leaked memo from OSF states the following, via The Daily Caller:

“Accepting the current crisis as the new normal and moving beyond the need to react.”

“Observing our partners as they respond and adjust to the new reality in light of the crisis in Europe and the Mediterranean, we see little attention given to long-term planning or fundamentally new approaches to advocacy.” The conclusion also stresses the need to fight back against “growing intolerance toward migrants.”

For more on why the West shouldn’t be accepting Syrian refugees, read this.

8. Soros funds Black Lives Matter groups. According to a Washington Times analysis of the Soros-funded OSF’s tax returns, the organization gave at least $33 million to BLM groups in one year. The Daily Beast attempted to cover for Soros, but their story was based on OSF simply denying they fund BLM and trying to claim that it would be impossible to track the $33 million.

9. Soros’ funding has a tendency to benefit himself. The Washington Free Beacon reports:

While Soros has increased his multi-million dollar investments in both U.S. and foreign companies that extract shale oil and gas, the Obama administration has championed natural gas as a less carbon-intensive bridge fuel toward a “clean-energy future.” The administration’s proposal to offer incentives to companies that use trucks powered by natural gas would benefit Westport Innovations, a company that converts diesel engines for natural gas use and is partially owned by Soros’ hedge fund.

Soros’ political advocacy also tends to blend with his investments. He proposed in 2009 that developed countries create a “green fund” to combat climate change in developing countries by directing billions from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) toward forestry, land-use, and agricultural projects. Soros’ fund controls more than a $200 million stake in Adecoagro, a Luxembourg-based company that owns hundreds of thousands of acres of farmland in South America and would benefit from the IMF cash infusion.

11 Dark Evil Secrets of George Soros

When it comes to dark evil secrets, not many people have more than billionaire George Soros. This man of questionable character has become one of the most powerful and controversial figures in the world. For some people, his financial support of groups who supposedly promote democracy in Eastern Europe has made him a hero. Yet for others, they see his funding of far left social causes as an attempt to tear down their democracy.

Soros was tied to the Hillary Clinton Campaign in a big way – much more than just a major donor. He has allegedly been heavily involved in Barrack Obama’s SuperPAC as well and his fingerprints are present in many political events that we read about in the news.

It is also believed that he is a powerful member of the 7 Floor Shadow US government as revealed in the famous Wikileaks disclosure.

The dirty fingers of George Soros can be seen all over the politics of the world. Rather than leaving nations alone and letting them legislate, he feels the need to impose his own political beliefs on those who do not want them. This is especially true in the United States. This is why we must reveal these 11 Dark Evil Secrets of George Soros.

Soros Colluded with Major European Leaders to Incite a Refuge Crisis

After the Soros Foundation suffered a major computer hack in 2016, it was discovered that Soros was working with major leaders in Europe to promote the current refugee crisis. Using immense funding and the influence of European media, Soros pushed this narrative.

Not only did his group push the notion that immigration was the “new normal” in Europe, they also attacked and attempted to destroy their political opponents.

The negative impact was especially apparent in Germany as Angela Merkel has been forced to explain how her liberal decisions repeatedly about open borders. These reckless decisions have led to countless terrorist attacks and deaths among her people. Is there any question that she was one of the many leaders who did the bidding of George Soros?

The demented vision of George Soros regarding the refugee crisis was to establish a chaotic environment. This would provide “new opportunities” for Soros organizations to control immigration on a global scale – in other words, trading deaths for power. Nice guy, huh?

Soros Companies control Voting Machines in 16 US States

A voting technology company named Smartmatic which is located in the U.K. has very deep and direct ties to George Soros. This company has furnished voting technology to 16 states which include vital battleground states such as Nevada, Arizona, Florida, Colorado, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and even Virginia. Other states that have been affected are the District of Columbia, California, New Jersey, Illinois, Missouri, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Oregon, and Washington.

The company website features a flow-chart describing how it has assisted elections in the United States from the years 2006 through 2015 with “57,000 voting and counting machines deployed” and some “35 million voters assisted.”

Smartmatic was involved in controversy during the 2016 presidential contest. It offered online balloting during the Utah Republican caucus, and countless voters claimed that it was impossible to vote on their secure personal electronic devices.

Soros Funded Phoney Attacks on Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh

During the summer of 2018, Hillary Clinton campaign manager Brian Fallon openly admitted that they formed a group with the objective of delaying the confirmation of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominations. And George Soros happily funded this endeavor.

They began with a bevy of protestors in the congressional chambers trying to slow down and disrupt the process – all allegedly paid by Soros organizations. Protestors were even spotted getting paid outside afterward.

They later produced Christine Blasey Ford, who provided outlandish accusations to congress of an alleged sexual assault conducted against her by Kavanaugh that was decades old. Her accusations were just that – accusations – not one piece of real evidence was ever produced. Her own friends could not corroborate her story. Ford’s own family even refused to attend the hearings.

Prior to a confirmation vote, a shameless display from the spineless GOP Senator Jeff Flake being trapped in an elevator by sobbing victims of the metoo movement convinced him to ask for a delay to allow for an FBI investigation. These sobbing victims were identified as Soros employees.

It is estimated that George Soros spent almost a billion dollars trying to block the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation, but no one knows for sure. We only know that it was a despicable attempt to tarnish a man who has a sterling record – in the name of power and political gain.

Soros had Infinite Influence on the Obama White House

While this may sound like conspiracy talk, consider this story. In 2015, the United States brought charges against five major banks for actively manipulating exchange rates between euros and the US dollar.

These banks agreed to plead guilty and paid an estimated $5.8 billion dollars to the United States. The caveat here was that only corporations were charged and no individuals. Had they gone after individuals, they would’ve snared George Soros who earned billions of dollars from these currency manipulations. The fact is that Soros has been guilty of manipulating currencies all his adult life – and has been caught many times.

Obama refused to allow Attorney General Loretta Lynch to go after individuals in an attempt to protect Soros – who had opened up his checkbook during both of Obama’s presidential campaigns. The fact is that Soros has given the Obama White House billions of dollars over the years.

In the summer of 2016, the US Embassy in Ukraine strongly encouraged Ukrainian authorities to drop a legal probe into a known Soros-funded political action group. They were actually provided with a list of names that were “not to be prosecuted”. Obama once again protected his golden goose. Obama operatives still receive funding from Soros for combined political activities.

Soros Broke the Bank of England

On September 16, 1992, the British pound crashed with a thud that was heard around the world. When the dust cleared, some £3.3 billion was gone from the coffers of the British government, adding fuel to an existing recession. British authorities were humiliated, the pound had been severely weakened, and the livelihoods of citizens were destroyed. Who caused all this carnage? George Soros.

Soros was employed as a currency speculator at the time, for the Quantum Fund. He led a huge charge of those speculators who were attacking the pound, buying up lots and then selling them in a frenzy, only to buy them back at much lower prices. Yes, this was legal, but it was immoral as well. Soros later boasted how he had made he earned £1 billion in one day selling sterling he didn’t own.

The effects of this currency attack were so brutal that Soros is still despised by many Brits even today – some 25 years later.

Soros Fueled Malaysia’s Economic Crisis

If breaking the Bank of England wasn’t bad enough, then what about the disastrous Asian Financial Crisis of 1997? We saw the collapse of governments, we saw capitals get flooded with angry protests, and we saw millions of innocent people get caught in an economic death spiral. Do you wonder who was behind this mess? Yep – our dear friend, George Soros.

Each Asian country suffered from this crisis in a different way. However, Malaysia took the worst of it as their ringgit actually lost over 45% of its value in a single instant. We witnessed the evaporation of tens of billions of dollars from governmental coffers.

Even though Soros wasn’t the worst offender, he was among those speculators that led the charge using the same attacking strategy that broke the Bank of England. In fact, it got so bad that Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad, called out Soros publicly for wrecking the economy of his country, insisting that he was a modern-day villain.

Soros Broke the Bank of Thailand

During the Asian Crisis, Thailand was considered to be its epicenter. It was from this location that this financial contagion spread outward, inflicting great damage on the economies of South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Russia, and even Brazil. It also caused a very violent revolution within Indonesia that claimed the lives of 5,000 citizens. All this happened thanks to George Soros.

As he did in both Britain and Malaysia and Britain, Soros waged war on the Thai baht with his usual viciousness. His Quantum Fund hammered the currency hard, lowering its value by over 60%.

The failure of the baht earned Soros a ton of cash, but at what cost? Millions of Thailand citizens were left impoverished and unemployed. There were over 600,000 foreign workers that were literally forced to return to their homes. Basic industries such as finance, construction, and real estate all collapsed, ruining the lives of thousands of innocent people.

Soros tried to Destroy Hong Kong’s Economy

After not being satisfied with wrecking banks and economies in Asia and Latin America, George Soros set his sights on Hong Kong and China In 1998. If he had successfully pulled this off, he would’ve certainly created a global recession.

In the summer of ‘98, Soros was already outrageously wealthy from screwing over the rest of Asia. But Soros wanted even more. In August, he focused on the Hong Kong Dollar. But a shrewd Finance Secretary named Donald Tsang Yam-kuen saw it coming ahead of time.

Yam-kuen bought up a ton of stocks – spending HK$118 billion on stocks to block Soros’s attempts to manipulate their currency. While it damaged Hong Kong’s credibility among global financiers, it did protect his country’s economy from Soros.

Soros Illegally Overspent on Numerous Political Campaigns

During the last decade, there was literally a wave of some 527 groups that appeared out of nowhere. These were mostly advocacy groups that were attempting to influence and sway elections. They became famous for utilizing various loopholes to circumvent laws that governed campaign contributions. After the Federal Electoral Commission (FEC) got wise to them and cracked down, the worst offenders got very large fines. Among the biggest fines that were handed out was to one of Soros’ groups.

A group known as America Coming Together (ACT) was determined to get John Kerry into the White House in 2004 – at all costs. Initially founded in the year 2003, the group spent $137 million to “get out the vote”. While the group failed, it could’ve influenced the election’s outcome. This is very problematic, as most of these contributions violated the federal limits.

In the year 2007, the FEC eventually fined the group $775,000 for these illegal contributions, which was the third-largest fine in the history of the FEC.

Soros is a Tax Hypocrite

As a major donor to the Democratic party, Soros joins them in repeating over and over again that rich people do not pay enough taxes – as if he hadn’t looked in his bank account lately. But this really isn’t that unusual.

All of us have heard Warren Buffet also say that rich people do not pay enough taxes. While Buffet actually backs up his talk about paying more taxes, Soros built much of his entire fortune by seeking out and exploiting tax loopholes of every kind.

Soros did much of his tax avoidance by deferring taxes paid on his clients’ fees, which he reinvested, letting them grow until those taxes were due. Bloomberg has estimated that he has earned around $13.3 billion through these deferrals. While this is actually legal, it is considered deeply unfair, which is why the United States eventually closed this tax loophole and ordered George Soros to pay $6.7 billion. Soros then moved the cash in question to the country of Ireland.

What happened to “rich people don’t pay enough taxes”?

Soros Found Guilty of Insider Trading

During the year of 1988, George Soros earned big profits from the inside knowledge about a takeover of Societe Generale, which was a French bank. Even though profits were relatively small for him (around $2.3 million), this takeover was looked upon by the people of France as just more corruption under current president Francois Mitterrand. After Mitterrand stepped down in 1995, the French authorities charged Soros with insider trading. And in 2002, Soros was convicted.

Since that time, Soros has lost several appeals that were launched in both France’s highest court and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). He keeps denying any wrongdoing on his behalf and for years, he has delayed in paying the $2.3 million fine. This is in spite of the ECHR ruling that he knew exactly what he was doing when he broke the trading law.

Sad Conclusion

The sad thing is that we could’ve easily listed 50 dark secrets in this article, but we had to restrict it to just 11 dark evil secrets of George Soros.

The Big Picture of George Soros’s Statements About “Destroying America ” Alongside His Payments to “Destabilizing America & Defunding the police”

JUL24INTERNIST

668SHARESShareTweet

On May 14, Soros gave $1 million to Color Of Change PAC (defund the police) according to records filed with the Federal Election Commission. What will be the big picture if we put all of George Soros’s statements about “destroying America ” alongside his payments to ‘destabilizing America and defunding the police”?

In 2006, he says:

“The main obstacle to stable and just world order is the United States. This is a harsh — indeed, for me, painful — thing to say, but unfortunately I am convinced it is true.”

He says:

“Changing the attitude and policies of the United States remains my top priority.”

I cannot digest if Soros decides that America is the “main obstacle to a stable and just world order” then why should it be “painful” for him to destroy it? He is the architect of “America as an obstacle ideology” so, the “painful” sensationalism is just an incoherent statement to portray him as a human.

About himself, Soros says that he is “primarily interested in ideas” while he doesn’t “have much personal use for money”. But the money serves him to push his ideologies. He says: “But I hate to think what would have happened if I hadn’t made money: My ideas would not have gotten much play.”

Sometimes I feel tired writing about Soros. It seems I am obsessed with him, trying to portray him as an evil man in any way possible. Well, I am not. I would avoid looking at his face each time I am writing about him and save my stomach from turning. But, the truth is since 2008, he had changed the world using his money as a vehicle, and years after years of buying power, influence, and the bullhorns of the media, his moves became more and more significant to the point he dethrones the presidents and the international organizations like the United Nations, etc. In the process, the media and the Democratic party hide his role and paint him as a minor actor in the world of politics. They also portray him as a benefactor of hope and salvation for people of the world in different humanitarian causes.

Amid his interference, the Democratic party, the media, politicians, violent radical groups are either bought or founded, and the result is streets that are burning, criminals who are released without bail, surged crimes as previously serious crimes are now considered no-crime and the caravans of mixed migrants are intruding all American borders.

The functioning key in all the above activities has been buying the district attorneys. It is them who as the first local lines of defense of the Constitution can create a cause at the beginning and make it look like a crime. Kim Gardner is a good example of them.  As unconstitutional as it can be Gardner wants Mark and Patricia McCloskey in jail for defending their home by exercising their right to bear arms when they were threatened by rioters. But who cares? The couple continues to be on the headlines and subject to hate machines.

Or Foxx of Illinois who let actor Jussie Smollett escape prosecution when he pretended to be victim of a hoax (beaten up by two men who shouted “This is MAGA country.”)

Some of these district attorneys selected and backed by Soros are sons of convicted criminals, some others have ties to Hugo Chavez, and one of them whom Soros spend hard to get him elected is the one we face in Maricopa County and look how that county changed the course of the election. In that county, Soros spent $2,000,000 just on the sheriff race in Maricopa County, Arizona, to get Paul Penzone elected. Where these attorneys and judges are appointed, guilty pleas and verdicts in felony cases instantly decline and dropped or lost cases increase

In 2017, I warned about judicial elections in RING OF THE CABAL. Just the overview of what he was doing was so dangerous to raise the hair on the back of my neck. But when things are beyond the political horizon of the average man, they simply don’t care and look where we are today. The election is gone, and anyone and anything that had a role in it is tied to Soros. From Smartmatic voting machines and Dominion software to Maricopa county and the little men and women who changed and reduplicated the ballots, all worked for organizations related to Soros. Texas, Colorado, California, Oregon, Washington, Florida, and New York, as well as swing states such as Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Arizona are all infected with the Soros Virus.

I wrote:

RING OF THE CABAL, All Rights Are Reserved

“These results in having progressive judges who believe the Constitution should be interpreted through the filter of their personal desires. Wrong! The constitution should be defended as it’s “written.” We shouldn’t see phrases like “although the first amendment gives the freedom of speech, the freedom of speech is not limitless.” …What??

How did they conclude that freedom of speech is not limitless? They have a manufactured mentality shaped in “Forced Concentration Camps” of schools and universities. They react as of maxims. As Bezmenov said, even when you show the naked truth to the demoralized generation, they can’t accept it. What happens when a government starts to break down its own laws? A constitutional crisis is what happens. That’s what we are facing now in 2017, and what the mainstream media insists on volumizing and benefiting from it by pushing more and more the “Constitutional Crisis” Phrase in their selected trajectory; a path that does not target the judges’ misbehavior but the Constitution itself. This whole creepy underground movement aims to defend the “wrong” and condemn the victim. It’s quite like raping a woman and blaming her for provoking the rapist. We actually are seeing this. The illegal alien; Sanchez Milian’s defense, whom the 13-years-old teen in Rockville Maryland claims to be raped by him, was that “she wanted” and he got away with it and took just ONE MONTH in jail. And be sure that one month was for saving their faces to be able to claim there was a sentence.

Soros had influenced the selection of states’ Supreme Court justices all across America, Europe, and Australia. In America, he’s funding massive efforts to end judicial elections, state after state which should be elected based on merit. Instead, he wants to create laws to pick the judges by favoritism, and political interests of liberal attorneys who pick the judges. Not all, but many lawyers are paid liars who academically learn to lie. They don’t care about right or wrong. They care about the winning game. They are specialized in fraudulence and Soros works with these types of lawyers.

In this way, Soros is engineering a judicial revolution. He could install a judge after judge who views the Constitution as his toy or particularly as Soros interprets the constitution and we know he sees it as worthy as a toilet paper. His judges make Compelling statements asking Congress that the constitution as an old document is not good for a modern society and his Democratic Party immediately sends a bill to Congress to be confirmed and become law. So the judge’s decision, in that case, will comply with the new law. He has already spent over $65 million to change state procedures from electing judges to having them appointed. The man who said: “I do business, I don’t care about the consequences” is almost close to succeed in remaking the judiciary system and fundamentally change the way judges are selected in the United States forever. If that happens, believe me, we will be a few months distant from his world government as judges determine who, what, where and what to do.

Soros’s money is spent on “Justice at Stake,” an organization which its principal goal is to replace judicial elections with judges picked up by his attorneys. In this way, judges in all 50 states will never get elected, retained or rejected by voters. He actually says people understand nothing and somebody else, who is eligible should decide for them, so his professional liar attorneys will do so.

Soros’ money has gone to the American Constitution Society for Law & Policy, Georgetown University, Justice at Stake, Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund, Community Rights Council, ABA Fund for Justice & Education, William J. Brennan Center for Justice, People for the American Way, National Center for State Courts, League of Women Voters Education Fund, National Women’s Law Center, Committee for Economic Development, Alliance for Justice, National Partnership for Woman & Families, National Institute for Money in State Politics, Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund, Center for Investigative Reporting, all and all to push the elimination of voters in the process of selecting judges.

He is the self-claimed emperor, and all these fake organizations are his ministries. Through them, he is controlling the world and his throne is “the money throne.” He whines and condemns the positive, free and constructive, Capitalism system while he is reshaping the world with his own, negative downward, destructive, and demonic totalitarian state.

Former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor’s supported Soros, citing that voters are “too un-sophisticated to evaluate judges.” The notion was investigated and fortunately rejected for there was no evidence of such an opinion in a review of 30,000 court opinions. But with all these brainwashed new judges and attorneys it is not guaranteed to be blocked the next time it will be presented as the system is under extreme change imposed by Soros.”

……………………………………….

As I wrote with details in my book, Soros had used mass protests, chaos, violent street burners, and hateful mobs to change regimes all over the world. Now he has brought the fruit at home and is utilizing what he has experienced and the same tactics here in America.

In 2003 he said: “For the past 15 years I have focused my energies on fighting for these values abroad. Now I am doing it in the United States.” He is persuading the step-by-step blueprint that he followed in Slovakia, Croatia, Yugoslavia, and Georgia, bringing the squeezed results at home. His grapes are now wine.

Soros in 2003: “This is what we did in Slovakia at the time of Meciar, in Croatia at the time of Tudman, and in Yugoslavia at the time of Miloševic.”

……………………………………

Author’s note at the end of each post: -“Your biggest problem is so small for such a big God”-Ella Cruz” The Bible is the blueprint of Faith. The New Testament has given us God’s kind of faith and the authority to perform miracles through faith and the name of Jesus. No matter what level of cancer you are; you can be healed by your faith and the word of God. Jesus did not care in what stage of death were the three people whom he raised from the dead. He just called life on them. Let see how He did it. “The first time he invaded the realm of death it was for the daughter of Jairus; an official in Jerusalem. She was “just” dead. The second time it was the son of a widow in Nain who was “one day” dead, and the third time it was Lazarus; brother of Mary and Martha in Bethany who was “very” dead after three days. HE raised them “all.” It doesn’t matter how big is your problem, and how hopeless you are because Jesus is the resurrection and the light.”-Ella Cruz World’s events are happening so fast. Putting Global Governance 2015, Agenda 2030, Agenda 2050, Antarctica, Mars, CERN, G5, The United Nations, The European Union, the Club of Rome, and the false prophets of the Vatican all together, we see that the satanic global government is imminent and it shall come to pass. The mark of the beast will be obligatory. You are either a Christian and believe this because this is what was predicted 2000 years ago in the Bible, or you are not a Christian but you read all these articles and connect the dots to notice that the satanic world government is their agenda and with President Trump, we had 4 years and this was God’s mercy on us. Their Global Governance 2025 is terribly close. Their Green New Deal’s 12 years matches the agenda 2030. The immigration and devouring of America and Europe all go according to the blueprint of one world satanic government. We have a short time to prepare ourselves. Why are we, born-again Christians happy and calm? Why do we joyfully dedicate ourselves to the nation, knowing that we will be chased and prosecuted for NOT taking the mark of the beast? Because we are dedicated to the Kingdom. “Your kingdom come, Your will be done.” 1- We believe Jesus Christ is the son of the Living God. 2- We believe the Bible is the word of God. 3-We believe God had so much loved us that HE sent his only begotten son to die on the cross for our sins. Through his blood, all our sins are washed away and forgiven. 4- We believe the price of our salvation, health, prosperity, happiness, and eternal life is paid by the blood of Jesus. We have all these gifts in us when we are born again by GRACE. By his stripes, we are healed 2000 years ago. 5-We believe by accepting Jesus Christ as our savior, we open our hearts to the Holy Spirit. We are baptized by the Holy Spirit who will dwell in us and will reveal Himself through dreams, visions, speeches, videos, books to communicate with us, immediately after our Salvation. 6- We believe Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We believe born-again believers receive the same DNA as Jesus Christ with the same miraculous abilities through faith. Just as the Apostles performed the same signs and wonders as our Lord Jesus did. They did it through “faith,” and The Lord will accomplish the same miracles through us after we accept him as our savior. 7-We condemn the religion and many fake prophets of the Vatican (not all of our Catholic brothers and sisters) who deceived Christians for centuries and hid the true message of the Bible and the Good News from people to keep themselves in power. We welcome all denominations. 8- We believe that a born-again Christian never dies and the moment his life on earth is terminated, he is promoted to heaven. There is no death for us. We just transit to our new dimension which is filled with immerse, joy, love, peace, and glory of God. All people who have met Jesus in a visit, vision, dream, or have died for a short time, left their body and came back, know how does this experience feel. It is a divine relief and joy. Therefore, to answer the above question (why are we happy?), our answer is, we can happily die right now. In fact, we would love to die yesterday and go home but each one of us has a mission and purpose that the Holy Spirit has revealed to us after our born-again experience. For the sake of that mission, although we know our day of prosecution will come, we are joyful and relaxed in the spirit. Because we save people by preaching the Gospel and bringing them to Jesus. To be born again, you just need to say: Lord Jesus, I accept you as my personal savior, Come to my heart, Forgive my sins, Wash me away, Make me a new person, And live inside of me. In the Name of Jesus from Nazareth, Amen. And that’s it. You are saved. He will reveal himself to you. Your life will dramatically change. Your marriage, your health (especially addiction), your finances, and all areas of your life will experience this extraordinary change. And never look back. In Jesus Almighty name.

Why Aren’t We Allowed To Talk About George Soros’s Plan To Remake America?

Since 2015, George Soros has pumped tens of millions of dollars into local races in Texas, Colorado, California, Oregon, Washington, Florida, and New York, as well as swing states.

Since 2015, George Soros has been executing a plan to reshape the country through local district attorney elections by pumping unprecedented amounts of money into races that typically only see candidates spend in the low five figures.

Here’s why he has an interest in these local races. Soros is exploiting the reality that all politics are local in some way. To transform America, you have to transform the way towns and cities operate.

A recent exchange on Fox News involving former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Fox News host Harris Faulkner, Democrat commentator Marie Harf, and Fox commentator Melissa A. Francis made the hair on my arms stand up because I realized how many people were either unaware of what Soros is doing or have been silenced by the idea that it’s somehow antisemitic to criticize Soros’s political activity.

Criticizing People’s Political Actions Isn’t Racist

Before we dive into what Soros has done, we need to put the antisemitism argument to bed. Criticizing how an enormously wealthy individual uses his money to change a nation is not in any way related to criticism of that person’s ethnicity or religious beliefs. It’s simply an exercise of civic engagement, which is essential for any self-governing people.

The left’s assumption that questioning someone’s political spending is equivalent to questioning his dignity as a person is itself a deeply bigoted assumption, designed solely to silence dissent and shut down debate.

In the segment I referred to earlier, Gingrich brought up the indisputable fact that Soros has been spending what can only be described as unprecedented amounts of money on local races in recent years, with a goal of flipping DA races to far-left “progressive” candidates who will implement soft-on-crime policies that inevitably result in skyrocketing crime rates and violent criminals walking free.

In response, Harf and Francis objected: “George Soros doesn’t need to be a part of this conversation.” Harf went so far as to deny that Soros is buying these races, and Faulkner did not step in to correct her. The segment ends in awkward silence as a disappointed Gingrich remarks that it’s apparently “verboten” to speak about Soros on Fox News now.

Buying Prosecutors Who Are Soft on Crime

Since 2015, Soros has pumped tens of millions of dollars into local races in Texas, Colorado, California, Oregon, Washington, Florida, and New York, as well as swing states such as Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Arizona. In 2016, Soros spent $2,000,000 on a single sheriff race in Maricopa County, Arizona, helping the leftist candidate, Paul Penzone, win.

In Philadelphia, Soros spent an insane $1,700,000 to elect Larry Krasner DA. Soros has also given millions of dollars in grants to candidates in other states. These enormous contributions have a correspondingly enormous impact.

Although his efforts haven’t been universally successful, the vast majority of Soros-backed candidates have won with Soros donations pushing them across the finish line. Here are just a few examples:

That’s just a partial list, but it surely corroborates Gingrich’s point that Soros “paid for” the outcomes of those elections, notwithstanding Harf’s unsubstantiated denial. In 2018 The Los Angeles Times reported that Soros spent $2,700,000 on California DA races alone, and another $16 million on 17 DA races in other states.

Look How Crazy These DAs Are

San Francisco’s new DA, Chesa Boudin, is a perfect example of the ideological temperament of the candidates Soros has been backing. Boudin is a former translator for the late Venezuelan socialist dictator Hugo Chavez.

He’s also the son of two Weather Underground domestic terrorists who were convicted of murder for their roles in a Brink’s armored car robbery that resulted in the killings of three people. Due to the incarceration of his parents, Boudin was raised by former Weather Underground leader Bill Ayers.

Huge contributions from the deep-pocketed Soros have made it nearly impossible for anyone to compete against his chosen candidates because DA elections rarely involve campaign war chests in excess of a few tens of thousands of dollars. Soros’s millions allow his candidates to bombard voters with propaganda, including commercials that smear Republicans as racists for fighting crime.

What Soros’s DAs Have Done In Office

Now let’s talk about what happens after Election Day, when the Soros-backed candidates start wielding their newfound power. Many of the following names will likely be familiar.

Foxx is well known as the DA who let actor Jussie Smollett escape prosecution after he hoaxed the nation by pretending he was beaten up by two men who allegedly shouted “This is MAGA country” in deep-blue Chicago, Illinois. A special prosecutor assigned to examine Foxx’s conduct in the case said there was “substantial abuses of discretion and operational failures” and determined she was guilty of “making false and/or misleading statements to the public.”

A recent report from the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund, moreover, found a 13 percent decline in guilty pleas or verdicts in felony cases and a 39 percent increase in dropped or lost cases after Foxx took office.

If you’ve had the misfortune of hearing Kim Gardner’s name, it’s probably because she’s trying to throw Mark and Patricia McCloskey in jail for defending their home by exercising their right to bear arms when they were threatened by rioters. Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner, along with Baltimore DA Maryln Mosby, threatened in an op-ed to have federal officers arrested if these prosecutors feel they overstep their authority in his district.

Boudin is one of the DAs on this list who refuses to prosecute what he calls “quality-of-life crimes” such as camping in the streets, offering or soliciting sex, public urination, and more. He also recently questioned whether spending money on law enforcement is “the most effective” use of tax dollars. He has also said that policing and incarceration “are tremendously expensive and are failed responses to what we are trying to deal with.”

Diane Becton of Contra Costa County, Calif. filed hate crime charges against David Nelson and Nichole Anderson for painting over a Black Lives Matter mural. Suffolk County, Mass. DA Rachael Rollins, along with Krasner and Boudin, is part of the also-Soros-backed “Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation Commissions” that team up with far-left activist Shaun King’s “Grassroots Law Project” to advocate for defunding the police. Yes, that’s the same Shaun King who recently called for people to destroy statues and stained glass windows that depict Jesus as white.

Before going on his spending spree in DA races, Soros also made a $50 million donation to the American Civil Liberties Union’s “Campaign to End Mass Incarceration” through his Open Society Foundation in 2014. Much of this money trickled down to local progressive groups who back these types of radical candidates as well.

Without Law and Order, You Don’t Have a Country

After watching the Fox News exchange involving Gingrich, Francis, Harf, and Faulkner, I wondered how anyone who works in the news business could be so uninformed about what Soros has been up to. The left-wing billionaire’s plan clearly operates on the understanding that all politics are local and takes advantage of small-ball local DA races to remake the American justice system — and, by extension, remake all of America into the far-left world of his dreams.

That leap from remaking our justice system to remaking America may seem like a long jump to some, but law and order is the core of America’s existence. Without law and order, you don’t have a country.

If you want to know what the next step is for Soros, it’s a continued expansion of funding for DA races, but also so much more. His recent pledge of $1 billion to endow a network of universities across the nation is part and parcel with his broader effort to promote his far-left ideology among impressionable young people.

Soros calls this initiative “the most important project of my life.” That should deeply concern ordinary Americans everywhere, and perhaps even inspire a backlash of small-dollar donations to fight Soros’s pernicious influence.

I believe that maintaining our freedoms and preserving the Constitution are two pillars of keeping America great, along with upholding the rule of law and properly educating our youth. Soros has a plan to systematically tear down those pillars, and we’re not supposed to talk about it. But we must, and we will.

George Soros and China’s Active Plan to Use Biden-Harris to Take Over America is Now Exposed

George Soros and his Open Society  fellow Democracy Alliance billion-millionaire partners directly funded the corrupt campaign of Joe Biden and the Democrats more than any other entities.

He is the largest single contributor to Antifa, Black Lives Matter and District Attorneys across the United States. He literally controls many Democrat and Republican politicians. His tentacles even reach some liberal minded judges.

Soros alone spent millions in tipping point swing states in an attempt prevent President Donald J. Trump’s reelection. Things didn’t work out on election night and “Plan B” was sloppily enacted: bring in the manufactured votes, count ballots multiple times and destroy Trump ballots.

It was Soros’ son Alex Soros who met with and selected Kamala Harris to be Biden’s running mate last summer.

This week, George Soros appointed Mark Malloch-Brown, the chairman of SGO, which owns the Smartmatic voting software company, to be the new president of his global Open Society Foundations.

The plan is to use the United Nations to pressure the United States into a New World Order to be controlled by Communist China as the supreme controlling country on Earth. We saw evidence of it during the Obama-Biden Administration. Both of their families and associates became directly and indirectly rich because of it.

Malloch-Brown
From Wikipedia

Soros and Malloch-Brown have been successful in turning around numerous European and African countries by stealing elections, financing military type uprisings and buying political control.

According to attorney Sidney Powell, via her lawsuits, Smartmatic is the other company, with Dominion Voter Systems, used to perpetuate the  massive and treasonous voter fraud of the 2020 election.

Malloch-Brown was a former UN secretary-general and United Kingdom minister. Currently on Soros’ Foundations’ Global Board, he takes over as chairman on January 1, 2020.

Many of Soros’ picked disciples are finding their way on Biden’s planned White House Administration.

Hillary Clinton and Neera Tanden

Neera Tanden, a radical leftist over Soros-funded Center of American Progress, is Biden’s nominee for the White House Office of Management and Budget.

“They think this is their moment. George Soros and his colleagues who have broken many countries around the world . . . are now instituting a revolution here in the United States,” wrote  Richard Poe, co-author with David Horowitz of The Shadow Party, an in-depth examination of Soros’ far-reaching influence. “And they believe that it can work this time. This is their big moment to overthrow our lawful government, to destroy our culture, to destroy our customs, to destroy our Constitution, to destroy our people, to destroy everything that is important in our lives.”

Poe warned BEFORE the 2020 election what Soros and Open Society planned to do when he said Soros “has a whole crack team of experts, the top experts in the world…. And they are absolutely trying to steal this election.”

Having used mass protests, even mob violence, to force regime change overseas, Soros is obsessed with destroying the United States.

“I believe in the values of an open society,” the ultra-rich Leftist said in 2003.

Hillary Clinton’s mentor and Barack Obama’s hero, Saul Alinsky wrote a book, the origins of today’s Democratic playbook, in which he said:

“The very first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.”

The Silent Majority cannot be silent anymore. Patriotic Americans not only have inalienable rights, we have the solemn duty to protect those rights.

Our natural rights and freedoms are guaranteed and recognized by the American Constitution, and the government cannot violate them under any circumstances.

George Soros Has 200 Organizations To Attack America

It’s almost too mind boggling to grasp the fact that

George Soros

funds almost 200 organizations to attack America!

George Soros

is a globalist that has the goal of bringing America down. Why?

Because his plans for control of America is just another part of his world (along with the other elites) domination efforts. He’s responsible for over throwing and destabilizing countries all over the world.

With nearly 200 organizations that have launched attacks on Trump and/or conservatives, the chaos and anarchy we see all over the country probably won’t stop anytime soon.

Dr. Rich Swier has published the entire list of organizations that

Soros

funds, and if he’s funding it, you can be sure there’s globalist, leftist, and socialist motives behind it.

The list published on Proud Conservative website is just astounding, showing you all the money and effort George Soros is willing to exert in order to destroy America and President Trump.

He veils himself in nobel causes and activism, but the truth behind his almost 200 organizations is to “control the narrative” for his advantage. That’s why he donates to myriads of politicians on both sides.

If you only looked at his website, you might say, “This is a really great philanthropist. But, in reality, this man is a person that turned his own Jewish people in to the Nazi’s during World War 2.

You see the quote prominently displayed on his website, “A full and fair discussion is essential to democracy.”

But, the efforts of his diabolical plans are so far removed from that narrative that you’d have to be blind NOT to see the reality of what he says and what he actually does!

There was one man at the financial center of the Ferguson protest movement. No,it wasn’t Michael Brown, Officer Darren Wilson or even Al Sharpton, despite his ubiquitous campaign on TV and the streets.

It was billionaire George Soros, who has built a business empire that dominates across the ocean in Europe while forging a political machine powered by nonprofit foundations that impacts American politics and policy.

Just like what he did with MoveOn.org.

George Soros spurred the Ferguson protest movement through years of funding and mobilizing groups across the U.S., according to interviews with key players and financial records reviewed by The Washington Times.

George Soros gave at least $33 million in one year to support already established groups that emboldened grass-roots, activists in Ferguson, according to recent tax filings of his nonprofit Open Society Foundations.

The financial connections from Mr. Soros to the activist groups gave rise to a combustible protest movement that transformed a one-day criminal event in Missouri into a 24-hour-a-day national cause.

George Soros also created the European refugee crisis. George Soros is trading again.

The 85-year-old political activist and philanthropist hit the headlines post-Brexit saying, “the event had “unleashed” a financial-market crisis.” Not for him though.

He was once again on the right side of the trade, taking a short position in troubled Deutsche Bank and betting against the S&P with a 2.1-million-share put option on the SPDR S&P 500 ETF.

George Soros then took out a $264 million position in Barrick Gold, whose share price has jumped over 14% since Brexit. He sells his positions in many of his traditional holdings when he knows what’s coming.

Since the 1980s, Soros has actively been pursuing a globalist agenda; he advances this agenda through his Open Society Foundations (OSF).

George’s father, Tivadar, a Jewish lawyer who was a strong proponent of Esperanto.

Esperanto is a language created in 1887 by L.L. Zamenhof, a Polish eye doctor, for the purpose of “transcending national borders” and “overcoming the natural indifference of mankind.”

He taught George Esperanto and forced him to speak it at home. In 1936, when Hitler was hosting the Olympic Games in Berlin, Tivadar changed the family name from Schwartz to Soros. (an Esperanto word meaning “will soar.”)

George Soros, who was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, benefited greatly from his father’s decision.

In 1944, 14-year-old George Soros went to work for the invading Nazis. It’s reported that he worked with a government official, helping him confiscate property from the local Jewish population, until the end of the war in 1945.

Almost 20 years ago in an interview with 60 Minutes, Soros said, “the year of German occupation was “the happiest time in my life.”

When the war ended, he moved to London and in 1947 enrolled in the London School of Economics where he studied under Karl Popper, the Austrian-British philosopher who was one of the first proponents of an globalist “Open Society.”

George Soros then worked at several merchant banks in London and then moved to New York in 1963.

In 1970, he started the Soros Fund Management and in 1973 he created the Quantum Fund along with investor Jim Rogers.

They made annual returns of over 30%, solidifying Soros’s reputation and putting him in a position of power, one he utilizes to this day to advance the same agenda of his mentors.

George Soros’s net worth is about $23 billion, although it could even be more.

Soros’s relationship with the Clintons goes back to 1993, and they’re close friends.Their relationship goes well beyond donor status.

Hillary Clinton introduced him at a conference where he spoke saying, “We need people like George Soros, who is fearless and willing to step up when it counts.”

Soros supported Hillary Clinton’s presidential run in 2013, taking a senior role in the “Ready for Hillary” group. He’s donated over $15 million to pro-Clinton groups and Super PACs.

George Soros has given more than $33 million to the Black Lives Matter group, which has been involved in outbreaks of social unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, and Baltimore.

Both of these incidents contributed to a worsening of race relations across America. He’s also made huge contributions to the Democratic Party and its most prominent members, like Joe Biden and Barack Obama.

The same group that went after Democratic contender Bernie Sanders for his alleged support of racial inequality. Another way he could assist in removing the threat of one of Hillary Clinton’s most ardent challenges.

George Soros usually gets what he wants. And now, he wants to erase all national borders and create the sort of globalist nightmare represented by the European Union. No sovereignty of any nation.

Soros has turned his attention back to Europe and you can see the economic and social disarray that they’re in right now.

There’s no doubt that Soros has had great influence on US foreign policy. He bragged about it in an interview with Charlie Rose, he said, “I do now have access to US Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott.
We actually work together on Eastern European policy.”

Soros’s meddling in the Russia-Ukraine conflict was again obvious. Soros admitted he was responsible for establishing a foundation in the Ukraine that led to the overthrow of the country’s elected leader and the installation of a junta handpicked by the US State Department. Headed by none other than his good friend Hillary Clinton.

That war ripped through the Ukrainian region of Donbass and resulted in over 10,000 people being killed and the displacement of over 1.4 million people.

Let’s also not forget a Malaysia Airlines passenger jet that was shot down, killing all 298 on board.

George Soros was there again to profit from the chaos he created. His reward in Ukraine was the state-owned energy monopoly, Naftogaz.

Soros again had his paid off US cronies, Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew and US consulting company McKinsey, advise the puppet government of Ukraine to privatize Naftogaz.

The deaths of human life would be almost unbelievable to calculate that have died needlessly because of one of the most evil men to live in our generation.

He uses the cover of philanthropy to carry out his globalist “one world government” plans and policies. He’ll pay off government officials in any country to get what he wants.

Soros’ fingerprints are all over anti-trump lawsuits and the billionaire leftist has teamed up with democrat attorney generals to bury the Trump administration in legal challenges.

George Soros and his hundreds of “destabilizing organizations” under the guise of philanthropy and continuing efforts to destabilize may be the biggest challenge to President Trump, America and the world.

What you need to know about George Soros, the Jewish philanthropist (still) at the center of right-wing conspiracy theories

A Republican congressional candidate, Marjorie Taylor Greene, has repeatedly called George Soros an “enemy of the people.”

Rudy Giuliani said Soros is “intent on destroying our government for some sick reason of his that goes back to his sick background.”

A Chicago Tribune columnist was demoted after blaming recent protests and riots on Soros.

At one point, there were 500,000 negative tweets about Soros in one day.

And that’s just the past several months.

Soros, who turned 90 last month, has given billions of dollars to an array of progressive causes, becoming a bogeyman for Republicans and conservatives in the United States and across the globe. He’s also become perhaps the leading target of those who have used Soros as a stand-in for the age-old anti-Semitic trope of the rich Jewish financier who pulls the strings of politicians and political movements from behind the scenes.

But conspiracy theories about Soros and his control have not stopped at the fringes. The past few years have seen conspiracies about Soros pushed by public figures like President Donald Trump, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Yair Netanyahu, son of the Israeli prime minister.

Here are some basics on Soros, his philanthropy, why some people don’t like him and the sometimes blurry line between legitimate criticism  and anti-Semitism.

George Soros is a Hungarian-American Jewish financier who survived the Holocaust.

Soros is best known as a financier who has made billions through investments and currency speculation, and a philanthropist who has tried to spread his vision of a liberal “open society” internationally.

Born in Hungary in 1930 to a Jewish family, Soros was 13 when the Holocaust came to his hometown of Budapest. Soros survived the genocide in hiding and moved to London and then New York, where he embarked on a successful Wall Street career as a hedge fund owner. In finance, he is known particularly for what is called Black Wednesday, when he successfully bet against, or shorted, the British pound in 1992.

Soros’ work in finance is often cited in anti-Semitic invective against him, while another conspiracy theory about him falsely posits that he was a collaborator with the Nazis rather than a child survivor. For more detail on those theories, see below.

Soros has poured billions of dollars into funding pro-democracy efforts, liberal causes worldwide and left-wing groups in Israel.

In 1979, Soros founded his charity, which has become the Open Society Foundations. He first donated to efforts against apartheid in South Africa. Later he gave to a organizations in Hungary and elsewhere in the communist bloc, promoting democracy, free speech and free markets. He founded Central European University in Hungary, a well-regarded school, and offered scholarships to promising students from repressive countries (including Orban, his future nemesis).

More recent, Soros has promoted left-wing causes in the United States. Beginning in the 2004 presidential election, he became a leading funder of Democratic politicians — though by no means the biggest. In the 2016 campaign, for example, he was the 12th-largest political donor to either party in the United States, according to the OpenSecrets database, and the fifth-largest donor to Hillary Clinton. This year, so far, he’s the 23rd-biggest donor to either party in the country.

He has also funded progressive candidates for district attorney across the United States, hoping to advance the cause of reforming the criminal justice system and anti-drug policies after concluding that U.S. officials should treat addiction as a sickness rather than a crime.

Soros also has donated to a number of left-wing Israeli and Palestinian human rights groups that oppose Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and, in some cases, endorse the movement to boycott Israel known as BDS. In addition, beginning in 2008, he donated approximately $750,000 to J Street, the American liberal Israel lobby.

Conservatives have criticized Soros’ activism for decades — and he’s stirred controversy among American Jews.

Because he is a noteworthy progressive philanthropist, Soros has become a bete noire for conservatives. Just as many liberals will criticize Sheldon Adelson or Charles Koch for their mega-philanthropy to Republicans, conservatives have called out Soros’ contributions to Democrats.

Soros has also drawn pointed criticism from American Jewish leaders for his views on Jewish affairs. Aside from his foundation’s philanthropy to left-wing Israeli groups, Soros rarely donates to Jewish organizations, and he’s departed from the American Jewish consensus on core issues like Israel and anti-Semitism.

In 2007, Soros wrote, “I am not a Zionist, nor am I am a practicing Jew, but I have a great deal of sympathy for my fellow Jews and a deep concern for the survival of Israel.” In that same essay he criticized the “pervasive influence of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee,” charging the pro-Israel lobby with being “closely allied with the neocons” and “an enthusiastic supporter of the invasion of Iraq” — and claiming the group’s behavior lent “some credence” to the anti-Semitic belief in an “all-powerful Zionist conspiracy.”

Four years earlier, he spoke at a meeting of the Jewish Funders Network and said there was “a resurgence of anti-Semitism in Europe. The policies of the Bush administration and the [Ariel] Sharon administration [in Israel] contribute to that.”

The 2003 comments elicited outrage. Abraham Foxman, then the national director of the Anti-Defamation League, called them “a simplistic, counterproductive, biased and bigoted perception of what’s out there. It’s blaming the victim for all of Israel’s and the Jewish people’s ills.”

By 2008, when the liberal Israel lobby J Street received financial backing from Soros, the group did not disclose his involvement due to the controversy sparked by Soros’ prior activism, J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami said in 2010.

“It was his view that the attacks against him from certain parts of the community would undercut support for us,” Ben-Ami told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency at the time. “He was concerned that his involvement would be used by others to attack the effort.”

Lately, a lot of criticism of Soros has sounded anti-Semitic.

In recent years, criticism of Soros has increasingly veered into anti-Semitism, suggesting that Soros runs shadowy, conspiratorial efforts to control people or accusing him, without evidence, of being the hidden force behind progressive causes. The accusations evoke an age-old Jewish conspiracy about Jews masterminding an international conspiracy to secretly rule the world through money.

In 2010, right-wing commentator Glenn Beck aired a series of segments on Fox News accusing Soros of being a “puppet master.” President Donald Trump has also engaged in this kind of messaging, suggesting without evidence, for example, that Soros was paying for protests against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

“The oldest stereotype of anti-Semitism is about Jews and money,” Foxman said. “It goes all the way back to Jesus being sold out for 30 pieces of silver. It’s there, it’s deep, it’s broad, it’s universal. What has happened in recent years is that Soros has been made the poster boy of this stereotype of the international Jew. He’s become an icon.”

Sometimes those accusations come along with memes showing Soros’ purported control that evoke anti-Semitic stereotypes. One, used by Beck, shows Soros with the handle of a marionette. Another shows Soros controlling people with octopus tentacles.

Another conspiracy theory falsely claims that Soros was a Nazi collaborator. In reality he was in hiding under a fake name with a Hungarian bureaucrat, and was once taken along with him on a survey of Jewish property under the Nazi occupation. He was a child at the time and is a survivor of the Holocaust, not a perpetrator.

Sometimes it’s difficult to tell when the criticism is legitimate or bigoted.

The distinction between legitimate critique of Soros’ activism and anti-Semitic invective is not always clear. Republican officials have sparked backlash from liberal groups by calling out Soros and other Jewish donors for financing Democratic campaigns.

The officials, House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, do not have histories of anti-Semitism and did not identify the donors as Jews. The donors in question are in fact among the leading funders of Democratic campaigns. But critics said the statements nonetheless evoked the anti-Semitic trope of rich Jews using their money to control politicians.

In October 2018, McCarthy tweeted, “We cannot allow Soros, Steyer and Bloomberg to BUY this election!” Michael Bloomberg is also Jewish, and Tom Steyer is of Jewish descent. The tweet also displayed a grainy, black-and-white photo of Soros. Steyer and Bloomberg were the top two Democratic donors in the 2018 cycle, while Soros was the fifth largest, according to the OpenSecrets campaign finance database.

McCarthy deleted the tweet days later because it had come days before a pipe bomb was mailed to the Soros home. The California lawmaker defended the tweet by saying it “had nothing to do about faith” and “All I was pointing out was money that Republicans and Democrats were spending to defeat one another.”

Last month, Collins ran into a similar issue when she accused the Senate’s Democratic leader, Chuck Schumer of New York, of being “motivated by power,” and called out two donors to her opponent’s campaign, Donald Sussman and George Soros. Sussman, Soros and Schumer are all Jewish.

“If you’re going to say that Soros contributed to a certain cause, be it Palestinian rights or be it criminal justice reform, that is not anti-Semitic, that is something that’s happening,” said Emily Tamkin, author of “The Influence of Soros,” a recent book on Soros’ philanthropy and the conspiracy theories surrounding him.

But when Soros is accused of things like hijacking American democracy, Tamkin said, it crosses the line into anti-Semitism.

“You are stripping agency from the people who are actually doing work in those spaces and making them sound like they’re Soros stooges, which is insulting to them and also anti-Semitic because it’s like [Soros] is a puppeteer,” she said.

A Soros-inflected conspiracy about immigration has led to violence.

The far-right obsession with Soros appears to have accelerated with Orban, the right-wing nationalist Hungarian leader who has made Soros a target of his campaigns. Orban has blamed Soros for spurring refugees to enter the country and taken action against his projects. In 2018, Orban’s government forced Central European University out of Hungary through a protracted court battle.

In 2017, Orban erected a series of billboards throughout Hungary emblazoned with Soros’ grinning face that read, “Let’s not allow Soros to have the last laugh.” The billboards were frequently defaced with anti-Semitic graffiti, and the Hungarian Jewish community decried them.

For some on the far right in the United States, Soros has become the personification of an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory called the Great Replacement, which accuses Jews of bringing immigrants into white countries in order to weaken and replace white people.

In late 2018, it was a man obsessed with hurting the perceived enemies of Trump who mailed the pipe bomb to Soros’ home. Days later, a gunman entered a synagogue in Pittsburgh and killed 11 Jews, blaming them for bringing immigrants into the United States. He had also demonized Soros on social media.

George Soros and His War Against Jews

The truth about George Soros’ hatred of his own people is finally revealed by Daniel Greenfield.

I’m very glad that a Jew revealed the truth about this monster; otherwise, we’d be hearing cries of anti-Semitism from the Left.

I have written numerous articles through the years about Soros. The Leftwing media love to spin the stories of his life. They turn on anyone who speaks of Soros’ life during WWII, and how he was used by the Nazis to round up his fellow Jews – ushering them onto the death trains headed for concentration camps.

Soros’ War Against the Jews

The shame, hatred and megalomania driving the world’s wealthiest anti-Semite.

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism.

When George Soros hit middle age, he began seeing a shrink.

The ruthless financier’s problem was that he was burdened with an “oversized” sense of shame over a “guilty secret.” That guilty, shameful secret which sent Soros to a psychoanalyst was “Jewishness.”

Soros’ Jewish problem was generational. He grew up in, in his own words, a “Jewish, anti-Semitic home.”

He had adopted his father Tivadar’s worldview, that God was a human invention. It was Tivadar who forged and sold documents to Jews trying to escape the Holocaust, charging “wealthy clients,” as he put it, “whatever the market would bear.” And it was Tidavar who found his teenage son a place with a Hungarian fascist official who was confiscating Jewish property.

In his biography, Tivadar later described the trip to confiscate Jewish property as a move by the “kind-hearted” Nazi collaborator to “cheer the unhappy lad up” where, after a dose of watching the persecution of Jews, “he quickly regained his spirits.” Soros would later describe this, a period that most Jews remember as a time of utter horror, as “the most exciting time of my life” or an “adventure.”

Tivadar’s amorality thoroughly infected his son. In an infamous 60 Minutes interview, which the Soros network and his media allies have worked hard to spin, Soros coolly agreed that he had “helped in the confiscation of property from the Jews.” Then he denied any feelings of guilt. “It’s just like in the markets — that if I weren’t there — of course, I wasn’t doing it, but somebody else would,” he observed.

It echoed his response to allegations of hurting the British economy. “When you speculate in the financial markets, you are free of most of the moral concerns that confront an ordinary businessman.”

The father had profited from selling forged documents to wealthy Jews, and the son had enjoyed being part of confiscating the property of a wealthy Jewish family. Neither father nor son, to whom the God of the Bible was a human invention and Jewish kinship was mere “tribalism,” felt any guilt over it.

They had no moral or ethnic allegiances. They were not Jews, either ethnically or religiously.

Indeed, the name Soros was taken to cover up the Jewish origins of the family. Even before the war, Erzebet, Soros’ mother, had wanted to change their name so that her sons would not be stigmatized as Jews. If Tivadar was merely amoral, Erzebet actively despised Jews. “My mother was quite anti-Semitic and ashamed of being Jewish,” he told an interviewer. Erzebet had opposed circumcising Paul, George’s brother. Like other members of the Soros clan, Erzebet eventually converted to Christianity. But her son could not believe in either Judaism or Christianity. He had only one faith. In his own godhood.

“George did not convert,” Soros: The Life and Times of a Messianic Billionaire notes; “What sense would conversion make for someone who was an atheist?”

The grandson of a schizophrenic, the son of a glib financial manipulator and a neurotic mystic, George Soros would fuse the conflicted legacy of his parents by becoming his own moneyed god.

In a New Yorker interview, he discussed his sense of being a superhuman philanthropist. “God in the Old Testament has a number of attributes, you know. Like invisible– I was pretty invisible. Benevolent– I was pretty benevolent. All-seeing– I tried to be all-seeing. So I was playing it out.”

If God was merely a human invention, as George and his father believed, why couldn’t he be a god? The more wealth and power Soros amassed, the more he could play god in his godless world.

Or, as Soros put it on another occasion, “I carried some rather potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood which I felt I had to control, otherwise they might get me into trouble. But when I had made my way in the world, I wanted to indulge my fantasies to the extent that I could afford.”

As one of the wealthiest men around, George Soros could afford to indulge them a whole lot. And by becoming his own god, Soros could escape his shame and suppress his sense of inferiority; gods have no shame, no guilt and no morality. But George wasn’t a god. He was a man hiding from God by playing god. His shameful secret lay in the God and His people whom he had sinned against.

The family’s Jewish origins were Soros’ secret shame. Schwartz, a Jewish family, were dead. They had been replaced by the Soros clan. George, who had once had a Bar Mitzvah, had been reborn a Nazi collaborator. And then, after the excitement of the war, he washed up as just another refugee in the UK.

It wasn’t the Holocaust that had traumatized Soros. But the aftermath of being a nobody.

The Holocaust had been the most exciting time in his life. After the war, he became a refugee in England, dependent on the charity of British Jewish organizations funded by the sorts of people he and his father had, not that long ago, been taking to the cleaners. He callously defrauded a Jewish charity meant to help the unfortunate and would go on fuming and bragging about that act decades later.

Over the decades, George Soros became very wealthy and very hollow. “I have lived with a double personality all my life,” he later wrote. He was neither a Jew nor a Nazi. He belonged to no nation and no religion. He had made a fortune, but his existence had no purpose except his delusions of grandeur.

Once upon a time, Soros had been convinced that he would be “some kind of god or an economic reformer like Keynes, or, even better, like Einstein.” But outside the financial world, he was a mediocrity.

George Soros dashed off 15 books and endless scribbled thoughts. He has tried to develop a philosophical system. And all of it is so trite that not even his political allies bother to care. His inferiority is real. He’s never had a single thought outside finance that anyone would care about without being paid for it. His only skill is cold-blooded financial manipulation bolstered by a vast informational network.

His only way to overcome his inferiority complex and validate his convictions of godhood was by using his money to tear apart the countries and the people, including the Jews, he had never felt part of.

“I went to England in 1947 and then to the United States in 1956. But I never quite became an American. I had left Hungary behind, and my Jewishness did not express itself in a sense of tribal loyalty that would have led me to support Israel,” he would later write. He married a second time, but his mother, the “typical Jewish anti-Semite” turned Catholic, hated his second wife for being “too Jewish.”

This marriage would also eventually fall apart.

“Being Jewish was a clear-cut stigma,” Soros recounted. “There was always the desire to transcend it, to escape it.”

“The assimilationist Jews of Hungary had a deep sense of inferiority, and it took me a long time to work through that,” he has said. “This whole interest in universal ideas is a typical means to escape from the particular.”

And he was “escaping the particular” by “espousing this universal concept of open society.”

The universalism of his Open Society Foundation was, like its Marxist forebears, a means of transcending the secret Jewish shame.

“I don’t think that you can ever overcome anti-Semitism if you behave as a tribe,” he declared. “The only way you can overcome it is if you give up the tribalness.”

Soros hates the Schwartzes for his secret shame, the existence of anti-Semitism. If there were no more Jews, there would be no more anti-Semitism. And his secret shame would finally be expunged.

Like his father and mother, Soros tried to overcome the “tribalness” of being Jewish, the shame and inferiority, by loathing those Jews who, unlike him and his parents, remained Jewish, the ‘Schwartzes’ who didn’t become ‘Soroses,’ the Jews who stood there and watched their property being confiscated by his “kind-hearted” Nazi collaborators, and worst of all, those who became ‘Samsons’ and fought back.

George Soros hates the Jews of Israel who became neither collaborators nor victims, but fought and won, above all else. The existence of Israel is a shameful reminder of his treachery and cowardice.

“Attitudes toward Israel are influenced by Israel’s policies, and attitudes toward the Jewish community are influenced by the pro-Israel lobby’s success in suppressing divergent views,” he has claimed.

He blamed the “resurgence of anti-Semitism in Europe” on Israel and insisted that, “If we change that direction, then anti-Semitism also will diminish.”

In Soros’ twisted mind, Jews are to blame for anti-Semitism.

Soros does not want to be Jewish. He is deeply ashamed of his Jewish roots. He blames Jews for anti-Semitism. And while he avoids Jewish events and organizations, occasionally he makes an exception.

A Hungarian Jewish cultural event with Hungarian dancers, musicians, and traditional foods, lured Soros out to present an award to a writer. Instead, Soros was booed for a rant in which he compared Israelis to the Nazis in front of an audience of Holocaust survivors.

“I heard what happened. If I had been there,” Elie Wiesel later said. “I would have walked out.”

While Soros compared Israel to the Nazis, he has defended Islamic terrorists who murder Jews.

“America and Israel must open the door to Hamas,” Soros urged in a Financial Times editorial. “Neither Hamas nor Hezbollah can be treated merely as targets in the war on terror because both have deep roots in their societies,” he argued in another editorial. “AIPAC must bear its share of responsibility for aiding and abetting policies such as Israel’s heavy-handed response to Hezbollah last summer and its insistence on treating Hamas only as a terrorist organization,” he ranted in a rambling essay.

The media has falsely claimed that criticism of George Soros is an anti-Semitic trope. And yet Soros has defended the use of anti-Semitic tropes. “The fact that constructive critics of Israel say things that, when taken out of context or paraphrased in provocative ways, can be made to sound similar to the comments of anti-Semites does not make them anti-Semitic,” he had insisted.

After defending anti-Semitic tropes aimed against Israel, Soros is playing the victim.

George Soros is a sponsor of numerous groups who say things in “provocative ways.” He’s the godfather of the anti-Israel lobby in America, spreading his money across the spectrum from NIAC to J Street, funding conventional anti-Israel BDS groups and providing stealth money to trojan-horse organizations like J Street that are meant to co-opt American Jews into undermining the Jewish State.

The beneficiaries of Soros cash have included Al-Haq, an anti-Israel group whose executive director has been described as a senior leader in the PFLP terrorist organization.

To transcend the secret shame of his Jewish origins, the world’s wealthiest anti-Semite has funded a widespread war against the Jews. Only in a world with no Jews, can Soros finally believe he is god.

“It is a sort of disease when you consider yourself some kind of god, the creator of everything, but I feel comfortable about it now since I began to live it out,” the billionaire once quipped.

Instead of curing Soros, therapy made him a megalomaniac, escaping his shame by becoming a god.

But, as the Austrian painter who also decided he was god realized, that requires getting rid of the Jews.

The Soros final solution to anti-Semitism is the familiar Marxist formula of getting rid of anti-Semitism by getting rid of the Jews. When there are no more Jews, then Soros will be cured of his secret shame.

All it will take is another Holocaust.

This despicable man has wreaked more havoc geopolitically than any other person in history. He funnels his billions of dollars to the various Leftist NGO’s he either created or simply supports.

He is pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel. He supports the hatred of Jews on college campuses. But even the Jews in Israel are duped by this maniac.

Why is George Soros Buying District Attorneys?

The effort to turn Texas Blue failed in spectacular fashion. For weeks, the Democrat party believed they would be able to turn out more primary voters in Texas than Republicans. The leading Democrat to challenge Sen. Ted Cruz (R) in the general election believed he would come close to or equal the primary numbers of Cruz. When the election was over it was a slaughter, but a local District Attorney race in Bexar County, county with San Antonio, is the most interesting race in the state. Why is George Soros buying District Attorneys around the country?

Over the last few years, progressive billionaire George Soros has dumped millions of dollars into district attorney races around the country. Soros has used his considerable finances and political clout to challenge district attorneys that do not fit into his progressive ideological agenda.

  1. 2015, Scott Colom and Robert Shuler Smith, $400,000
  2. 2016, Andrew Warren, Hillsborough County, Fla.
  3. 2016, Kim Foxx, Cook County, Ill.
  4. 2016, Kim Ogg, Harris County, Texas $600,000
  5. 2016, Aramis Ayala, Orlando, Fla., $1.4 million
  6. 2017, Larry Krasner Philadelphia, Pa., $1.45 million
  7. 2018, Joe Gonzales Bexar County, Texas, $958,000

There is a noticeable pattern in the races. The Soros groups come in and dump large amounts of money in the final moments of the campaign. The link between the Soros funds and the candidate are only discovered after the election is held.

Another pattern is the noticeable politics of the elected officials. These are not law and order politicians. Not only are they Democrats, but they are also hard left progressives. Soros contributes the funds through his Open Society Foundation and the over 100 organizations his money controls:

These are just a few of the more high-profile organizations, but they all have similar missions. They want open borders, amnesty for all illegal immigrants in the U.S., and want to free criminals from prison in the shape of prison reform. None of the positions are very popular, which is why officials do not campaign on them and the Soros money comes in late in the game. By the time people realize Soros is backing their official, the election has already happened.

If you want to know how the communities are doing that are under the thumb of Soros controlled politicians there are examples all around the nation:

And let us not forget California, a state wholly owned by Soros, was just named the state with the worst quality of life by U.S. News. Sounds like wonderful communities to live in don’t they.

District Attorney races do not usually garner much national attention, but the Republican National Committee should start paying attention. George Soros is spending millions to destroy the U.S. justice system. If he cannot do it through Congress or the Presidency, he will do it through local law enforcement. His bought and paid for politicians are releasing criminal illegal immigrants onto the streets to continue targeting innocents. They are turning cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles into open sewers of human feces and drug paraphernalia. George Soros and his organizations may be the most dangerous non-governmental entities in the world.

George Soros, 89, Is Still on a Quest to Destroy America

(Update 8/9/2021)

George Soros is 89 years old, but by gosh, before he dies, he’s going to see to the internal destruction of America.

At least that’s how it seems.

How else can we listen to his words in Davos, Switzerland, track his funding of American political races and pay attention to what he says about President Donald Trump, capitalism, and the leftist causes he backs and the leftist Open Society Foundations he runs, and come to any other conclusion?

In the last few years, Soros has taken to trying to take over local law enforcement agencies by pumping massive amounts of money into candidates he favors in key district attorney races.

“George Soros’ quiet overhaul of the US justice system,” Politico reported, way back in August of 2016.

It continues in present day.

“PAC funded by George Soros pumps nearly $1 million into local races for prosecutor,” The Washington Post reported in June, about the money from the Justice and Public Safety PAC that went to the left-leaners of both Arlington County, Virginia, and Fairfax County, Virginia, commonwealth’s attorney races.’

“Soros Adds Intrigue and $800,000 to D.A. Race, Backing Progressive,” The New York Times reported in November.

The district attorney’s office is one of the first local lines of defense of the Constitution and the rule of law. That means the potential for immediate progressive impact is huge — and it’s an impact that can be had without all that costly political fighting over, say, a senator’s seat, or a Supreme Court slot.

Buying D.A. seats gives you good bang for the buck, in other words. And oftentimes, quietly, unbeknownst to those who might oppose.

That doesn’t mean Soros isn’t busily buying into congressional races, too. or the media. Or — and this, particularly in recent months — the grassroots.

Democracy Alliance, a nonprofit founded in 2005 to advance a progressive vision throughout America, and funded by wealthy elites, recently shifted its charitable giving strategy from think tanks in high-powered Washington, D.C., to small, mostly unknown groups in various communities. Why?

Call it — once again — under-the-radar influence.

Politico in 2018 described the process: “Kevin Rodriguez, a 19-year-old aspiring singer in tight jeans and gray-and-white Nike high tops, had never heard of the powerful progressive donor group Democracy Alliance. But he is a key part of the secretive billionaire club’s plot to flip the Sun Belt. The donor clique, which counts George Soros and Tom Steyer among its members, is quietly giving funds to a handful of local grassroots groups like Rodriguez’s employer, Living United for Change in Arizona.”

It’s a strategy aimed at quietly taking down President Donald Trump, one “new voter in rapidly diversifying states across the southern U.S.” at a time, as Politico wrote.

It’s a strategy that skirts the enemy’s knowledge, and therefore, oftentimes, the enemy’s win.

And it’s a strategy that takes full advantage of dark money-type donations that are difficult to track and even more difficult to thwart.

It’s one thing for Soros to take his hatred of this president and his disdain for free market America to the public stage — as he just did in Davos, when he criticized Trump as a “con man” whose “narcissism” has turned “into a malignant disease,” as CNBC reported.

It’s another for Soros to slide, on the sly, his anti-American influences deep into America’s politics and culture. And now: education.

In Davos, he announced the infusion of $1 billion into a new Open Society University Network to fund schools around the world — to “educate against nationalism,” is how the Financial Times reported it.

In other words: to train the next generation in the evils of sovereignty — to teach the emerging youth how to become good obedient citizens of the world.

Soros calls it his “most important and enduring project” ever. No wonder. It truly could be. If successful, it could mean the collapse of borders, the implementation of world government, the end of America as we know it.

If children are the hope of the future, America’s children must be educated on the greatness of America — before it becomes too late and America, as a sovereign nation, hasn’t any future at all.

Soros: He Exists to Destroy the United States

(Update 1/23/2022)

If any of my readers think that George Soros has all but faded away in our world – THINK AGAIN. His strategy to disparage anyone who speaks ill of him is to play the “Anti-Semitic” card. Many journalists have backed off from the Satanically inspired Soros for this very reason.

This writer will never back off. I am a Jew. I love my people. George Soros is a self-hating Jew. His despicable actions during WWII against his own people helped to mold his character – or lack thereof.

I have posted this interview with Soros from years ago many times. But if you missed it, please watch. You will be shocked:

Soros Interview

And just for the record, I do believe that this man is a Sociopath and a Malignant Narcissist.

I believe that when you read the content within the very credible Conservative news site, coupled with the interview, you will be convinced that this man is not only evil, but may very well be demon- possessed.

I dare anyone to even insinuate that I am an anti-Semite! I am a “Jew born anew” as Marty Goetz has said many times!

Why Aren’t We Allowed to Talk About George Soros’s Plan to Remake America?

Since 2015, George Soros has pumped tens of millions of dollars into local races in Texas, Colorado, California, Oregon, Washington, Florida, and New York, as well as swing states.

Since 2015, George Soros has been executing a plan to reshape the country through local district attorney elections by pumping unprecedented amounts of money into races that typically only see candidates spend in the low-five figures.

Here’s why he has an interest in these local races: Soros is exploiting the reality that all politics are local in some way.

Kim Foxx is well known as the DA who let actor Jussie Smollett escape prosecution after he hoaxed the nation by pretending he was beaten up by two men who allegedly shouted “This is MAGA country” in deep-blue Chicago, Illinois.

Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner, along with Baltimore DA Marilyn Mosby, threatened in an op-ed to have federal officers arrested if these prosecutors feel they overstep their authority in his district.

Diane Becton of Contra Costa County, Calif., filed hate crime charges against David Nelson and Nichole Anderson for painting over a Black Lives Matter mural. Suffolk County, Mass., DA Rachael Rollins, along with Krasner and Boudin, is part of the also-Soros-backed “Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation Commissions” that team up with far-left activist Shaun King’s “Grassroots Law Project” to advocate for defunding the police. Yes, that’s the same Shaun King who recently called for people to destroy statues and stained-glass windows that depict Jesus as white.

Giuliani: Soros wants to destroy America because of his ‘sick background’

(Update 1/23/2022)

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani stepped up his criticism of George Soros on Monday, saying in a Fox News Channel interview that the billionaire financier and political megadonor “is intent on destroying our government, for some sick reason of his that goes back to his sick background.”

It is is unclear what exactly Giuliani meant by Soros’ “sick background,” though Soros, who is a Holocaust survivor, has long been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories, including false claims that he collaborated with the Nazis.

The Anti-Defamation League has said that some anti-Soros conspiracy theories, particularly coming from the political right, have devolved into antisemitism.

Giuliani’s previous criticism of Soros has also been accused of bordering on antisemitism, which the former mayor has denied. In 2018, the former mayor called the Jewish philanthropist “the antichrist.”

“Don’t tell me I’m anti-Semitic if I oppose him,” Giuliani said in a December interview with New York Mag’s Olivia Nuzzi. “Soros is hardly a Jew. I’m more of a Jew than Soros is, … He doesn’t belong to a synagogue, he doesn’t support Israel, he’s an enemy of Israel.” Giuliani then went on to accuse Soros of controlling the U.S. media and diplomatic corps.

Why Aren’t We Allowed To Talk About George Soros’s Plan To Remake America?

(Update 1/23/2022)

The Six Stage Plan To Destroy America Has Just Entered Stage Two

(Update 1/23/2022)

Based upon years of research, analyzing historical parallels and forming cohesive models of revolution, I began to formulate the notion that America was headed for a date with destiny. I called it the TET Offensive and I predicted, as long as 7 years ago, that this would be our undoing.

We are following in the pattern of so many regime change schemes that have operated with great success in places like the Bolshevik Revolution.

This article analyzes the plot presently in play designed to destroy America and everyone in it.

The following model is based upon 6 overlapping stages that most iillegal regime schemes follow.

Stage One: Destroy the Economy

An economic collapse event almost always predates regime change. Out of chaos comes order typifies the thinking. The populace has to be rendered helpless. Essential resources must be in short supply in order to make the people dependent upon the new ruling class. Recently, a number of the preconditions have been introduced into the United States. The COVID-19 lockdown destroyed the economy. It significantly diminished the ability of the military to maintain a long-term fight against a numerically superior opponent such as Communist China. We have lost the ability transition our peace time industries into wartime production because the peacetime industries are largely in ruin due to the “overkill” lockdown.

Further, it is clear that the revolutionary regime is going to use artificially generated food scarcity as a weapon. The CSS has doumented how 19 food processing plants have been rendered inactive by using COVID-19 infections as the excuse. There has been no attempt to keep these critical plants open so food could reach our tables. This is deliberate. Consequently, farmers and ranchers have been forced to destroy millions of cattle, poultry and are dumping large volumes of milk because they can get the products to market. In addition, the Wuhan Flu destroyed the food chain supplies. We are now eating yesterday’s harvest.  All across the country, we are beginning to see the effects of food inflation, supply purchase limitations and outright shortages. Extreme famine and food dependency upon the government is in our immediate future, by design.

Let’s not forget our debt has skyrocketed over $10 trillion. One-third of the country is unemployed. Five million mortgage payments will not be paid this month. This will profoundly destabilize the banks. How long can the Federal Reserve continue to infuse cash into the Stock Market before it crashes?

Stage One has achieved its goal of creating extreme economing instability which makes our present ruling authority as well as the people vulnerable. “Viva la Revolution, come raise hell and get yourself some. Welcome to the creation of the looting mentality”. This is typical George Soros and his strategy of regime change in which the plan is getting the poor to buy into getting something for nothing is key to producing the numbers needed to effect regime change.

Stage Two: Plunge the Country Into Total Chaos

As Stage One has somewhat relaxed its grip, it is time to introduce Stage Two in which an ongoing total state of chaos is introduced in order to maintain and worsen the impact of Stage One. In this instance, the race card got played. Domestic terrorists were organized by Soros and awaited the right event and George Floyd’s tragic death provided the excuse to roll out domestic terrorists under the control of George Soros. This event, in America, is reminiscent of what Soros did in the Arab Spring of 2011 in which he toppled one government after another following this plan.

The strategy of this stage is divide and conquer. In this instance, it is black vs. white. Also, this gives the government the opportunity to regain control that they were beginning to lose from theloosening of COVID restrictions. The mostly Democratic governors prevent the police from arresting looters and then this let the chaos spread. Then the governors impose martial law and regain control over all the people while most of the looters run free.

Stage Three: Death Squads and Mass Casualty events

There has never been a reovolution that did not use death squads. False flag attacks become the strategy of the day as well. These events drive a stake into the heart of the economy and render a comeback impossible. We are about ready to find out why the Democrats wanted totally open borders as opposed to implementing reasonable immigration policies.

There are an estimated 1.3 million terrrorists in America. These sleeper cells have been awaiting the activation call. As the race war of Stage Two begins to fade in intensity, it will be time to drive up the intensity. In Pre-Nazi Germany, that mean burning down the Reichstag. In America, all targets are on the table.

According to my Border Patrol sources, MS-13 was let into this country in 2014-15 during the height of the last immigration crisis. MS-13, in Central America, plays the exclusive role of assassins for public figures who do not bend to the will of the cartels. They were brought here for the same reason. We will soon see political hits on media figures, corporate executives and key opposition politicians. At this point, living in America will be a lot like living through the hell of the Bosnian Civil War. Most Americans cannot fathom how bad it will get.

Hamas, ISIS and all the other terrorist groups are here in great numbers. These forces were jointly trained at paramilitary base camps in El Salvador and Honduras in paramilitary and terrorist tactics prior to coming the United States. This event has been covered from multiple perspectives on the CSS. This means that soon, we will see IED’s on federal buildings in the spirit of the Oklahoma City bombings. It will mean mass execution of white people in malls and at sporting events as well concerts as they happen. Paul Preston had an embedded source at the CALEXIT meetings in which this was discussed and planned.

The net effect of this stage is to promote the conflict necessary in order to give the United Nations the justification to enter American soil with foreign troops, under the Kigali Principles, and subjugate our government. We are already seeing this in Stage One as the UN has repeatedly warned the US about the killing of unarmed black Americans. The UN is already posturing. Obama signed the US into the Kigali Principles in the lame duck period of December of 2016. This plan has been in effect for sometime.

It will be at the time of the UN forced intervention, we will find out about the loyalties of the various branches to the Republic or the globalist regime. In today’s climate I would say that the Army and Air Force and all the intelligence agencies would side with the UN. The Marines and the Navy, especially the nuclear submarine fleet will likely protect the American people. This will be the beginning of the true civil war. Your personal M-16 will make no difference. Armies will decide the fate of this country.

Stage Four: CHICOM Genocide

If the Civil War is not effective in producing an overthrow of the government and I have strong reasons to believe that the UN and their allies will fail. A weakened America will face the possiblity of a bioweapons attack with race-specific agents. Last July, I wrote a 5 part series on these plans as the last 3 Chinese Defense Ministers, the last being Wei Fenghe, bragged about doing this very thing.

No bioweapon attack will be totally successful. However, only a shell of America will remain.

Stage Five: The Red Dawn Invasion

The CHICOM led Red Dawn invasion will commence. The CHICOMS and their Latin American allies will enact genocide on the American people. As Wei Fenghe has stated, “we are not interested in joint occupancy of the United States. We need the Americans resources and we will not share with any Americans.” Wei Fenghe stated that race-specific bioweapons are needed and will be employed and this will make the military occupation have an easy time of subjugating the United States. Did I mention that the CHICOMS will not be taking prisoners?

Stage Six: Contingency Plans

By some miracle if the United States were to survive, the next phase includes adopting a domestic terror approach to killing Americans by a “death of 1000 cuts”. We will never know peace again. The Democratic leadership is on board with every aspect of this. I believe at this point a world war will be started to wipe out America once and for all.

George Soros – Bringing Down America

(Update 1/23/2022)

George Soros is probably one of the most dangerous human beings on the planet. He has brought down economies and has caused his share of revolutions, and now has his sights on the United States of America. George Soros’s plan is to help achieve a “New World Order” or “NWO”. His power has touched over 60 countries using his “Open Society Institute” which is said to spend some $600 million per year to advance his agenda.

The International Banksters are the other side to this coin. They want the same things, but are just more quite about it. Their goals are for a “One World Currency” and a “New World Order”.

George Soros’ agenda include European style socialism, population control, and the famous “Green Agenda” which has generated much corruption around the world starting with the “Global Warming” myth. The “Carbon Credit” fraud is all part of this garbage as well. He recruited Al Gore into this fraud in which big Al Gore generated millions for himself, cheating and conning anybody that would listen.

George Soros’ “Big Brother” one world government, will undoubtedly ruin the United States of America by completely bypassing the United States Constitution; killing any chance of remaining under the freedoms that our original forefathers fought for.

The Banking Elite and George Soros are both members of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission also known as the Bilderberg Group. Two organizations scheming to manufacture the “One World Order”, the “One World Government” and the “One World Currency”.

Currently, Soros is trying to figure out how to achieve “an orderly decline” of the US dollar, important to introducing a “New World Currency” the important step for the “ New World Order”.

I suggest that all Patriotic Americans, who believe in the Constitution of the United States, and want to remain under the articles that are forefathers fought for some 235 years ago, study up on George Soros, and understand how dangerous this man really is, and how his ties to the International Banksters correlate with each other. You will start to understand the evil that America is up against.

The only way to beat this scourge is to fight and I mean the kind of fight that our forefathers had to do to achieve our freedoms, the only kind of fight that our enemy’s will understand. We must stand together or we are finished.

Biden’s Disinformation Board Co-Chair Formerly Worked for George Soros

(Update 5/7/2022)

A top Biden administration official in the Department of Homeland Security’s new Disinformation Governance Board has strong connections to controversial anti-American billionaire George Soros.

Disinformation Governance Board leader Jennifer Paskal has three connections to the controversial Soros, according to the Media Research CenterSoros is known for backing left-wing causes in the United States and Europe.

Before being chosen to serve in the Disinformation Governance Board — dubbed by critics as the Biden administration’s “Ministry of Truth” — the Homeland Security Deputy General Counsel (Cyber and Technology) had served as an Open Society Institute fellow, according to the report.

The Soros-founded and chaired grantmaking network claims to back civil society groups worldwide with the intent of promoting justice, independent media, justice, education and public health.

The organization is known for supporting leftist movements like Defund the Police and Black Lives Matter.

Paskal has also served as the senior counterterrorism counsel at Human Rights Watch, a human rights organization funded by the billionaire. According to Media Research Center, Soros gave the organization $32,106,746 between 2000 and 2014.

The Brown University and Harvard Law School graduate had also worked as the founding editor of Just Security, an online publication also funded by Soros, which focuses on national security, foreign policy and human rights analysis.

Soros gave Just Security, an NYU Reiss Center on Law and Security project, $675,000 in grants between 2017 and 2019, according to the Media Research Center.

Soros and many of his funding recipients are actively involved in fact-checking programs wherein an organization assumes the role of being the arbiter of truth, dismissing alternative perspectives as misinformation and fake news and calling for censorship of opposing viewpoints.

Most notable so-called fact-checking organizations backed by Soros include the left-leaning Poynter Institute’s International Fact-Checking Network and U.K.-based Full Fact.

The Poynter Institute in January published an open letter from fact-checkers to YouTube, calling for more censorship of the platform, claiming it is used by “unscrupulous actors to manipulate and exploit others, and to organize and fundraise themselves.”

The Soros-backed Britain-based fact-checker Full Fact in 2020 denied the validity of the lab-leak theory in explaining the origins of COVID-19, only to be faced later by major outlets acknowledging the possibility of a lab leak later on during the course of the pandemic.

“The fact that Soros has one of his former fellows leading Biden’s government-sanctioned Ministry of Truth should concern every American citizen,” the Media Research Center said.

The Biden administration’s Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas revealed in late April that the Department of Homeland Security had formed a Disinformation Governance Board headed by Nina Jankowicz, who once deemed news of the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop to be part of a Russian disinformation campaign. Virtually all news outlets now acknowledge the laptop and its contents to be authentic.

Conclusion

This is the second time I have checked up on George Soros, and both times I was not able to find any truth to the allegations made against Soros, about his complicity in antifa and BLM. I have included the findings from three reputable internet fact checkers, Reuters, Snopes and politifact. They were not able to find any truth to the accusations either. So as I was about to lay this matter to rest, more information came to light about Soros funding the campaigns of District Attorneys. So I am going to add the information to the addendum section, and I will let you be the judge. Newt Gingrich and Tucker Carlson brought up the subject on two different shows on the Fox news channel.

I have after listening to much ado about something, have decided to make a third foiree into the world of George Soros, in the hopes to finally come to a definitive conclusion about him. I have spent several hours and have researched several sites on the internet. I have added multiple sections to this posting. What was different in this investigation, is that I had access to another more unbiased search engine. Several months ago I started using DuckDuckGo. Since I started using this search engine, many new sites and articles have become visible. So after having access to this new and powerful investigative tool, I am prepared to change my views on the matter. I have included several copies of his actual words, including an interview on his role in helping the Nazis during WWII. I guess that I could never fathom how a Jew could not only hate America, but Israel as well. Only God and Soros himself knows why he feels the way he does. While there is a lot of false information on the Internet, especially about Soros, I believe I have been able to shift through all the crap and hopefully have been able to only post truthful information.

As the old saying goes, “freedom is not free.” The main agent that has allowed for the pre-positioning of these forces has come directly from the open borders approach of the Democrats (eg Pelosi, Schumer, Feinstein, etc).  The American people allowed this to happen. The only remaining question is whether, or not, we have the resilience to meet fire with fire. The jury is out on this because we have become such a soft nation.

I know firmly believe that George Soros means both Israel and the US ill. While he has spent billions of dollars in philanthropic endeavors, I believe this is only a smoke screen for his ultimate plot the destruction of the US and Israel.

Addendum:

Soros and DA’s:

Democrats and the US mainstream media have insisted that tales of George Soros’ malign influence on US politics are conservative conspiracies. Americans targeted by prosecutors whose elections he financed can testify otherwise.

Take the case of two Californians who are facing ‘hate crime’ charges for painting over a Black Lives Matter mural outside the Contra Costa County courthouse during the Independence Day weekend.

Nichole Anderson and David Nelson are being prosecuted by District Attorney Diana Becton, who described BLM as “an important civil rights cause that deserves all of our attention,” (emphasis added) and insisted that “we must address the root and byproduct of systemic racism in our country.”

A former judge with no prosecutorial experience and dogged by accusations of plagiarism, Becton was elected in 2018 thanks in no small part to $275,000 poured into her campaign by Soros.

The Hungarian-born Democrat mega-donor became obscenely wealthy through currency speculation, before turning his eye towards influencing politics. In addition to funding various Democrats in state and congressional races, Soros invested heavily in local elections, where his money could make a much bigger difference.

He specifically targeted district attorneys, who in the US make all the prosecutorial decisions on a local level. In 2018, he invested more than $2.7 million in DA races in California, according to the Los Angeles Times. This was on top of the more-than $16 million he spent since 2014 on 17 district attorney races across the US, with his candidates winning 13 of them.

One of those candidates is Kim Gardner, the circuit attorney in St. Louis, Missouri since 2017. She returned the favor almost immediately, playing a key role in the prosecution of Republican Governor Eric Greitens over alleged invasion of privacy. The case eventually imploded, but not before it served its purpose in forcing Greitens to resign. Given Gardner’s history, it should not have come as a shock when she released every single person arrested during the George Floyd riots at the end of May, which claimed the life of retired police Captain David Dorn.

Nor should it be a surprise that Gardner is currently trying to find a way to press charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the St. Louis couple who defended their house with a rifle and a handgun after a crowd of ‘peaceful’ Black Lives Matter protesters demolished the gate of their community last month.

The McCloskeys have already been vilified in the media as racist, for daring to stand up for their property against the mob that threatened to kill them, and they have had to board up the house due to repeated violent demonstrations outside. To make the irony even greater, Mark is a lawyer who has represented victims of police brutality. None of it matters to Gardner, of course – the Narrative must be served.

Kim Foxx of Cook County, Illinois is another Soros-funded DA. She infamously tried to cover for actor Jussie Smollett after he staged a hate crime against himself in February 2019. Though Foxx dropped the charges, Smollett is now facing a special prosecutor.

Even in races where Soros did not get directly involved, Democrats who won embraced his policy of ‘criminal justice reform’. While it sounds lofty in theory, in practice it has mainly consisted of refusing to prosecute most offenses committed by minorities in the name of ‘racial justice’.

For years, Democrats have denounced ‘big money’ in politics. That rhetoric suddenly stopped once Soros became openly involved. Any time anyone brings this up, they denounce it as a “right-wing conspiracy theory” and even anti-Semitism – though the Israeli government begs to differ. Yet the proof of the pudding is in selective prosecutions, driven by racial grievance-mongering and intended to send a message to Americans that some people are, actually, above the law.

Back in the day, district attorneys sought to throw the book at criminals, but thanks to progressive mega-donors like George Soros, today’s prosecutors look increasingly like San Francisco’s Chesa Boudin. Mr. Boudin, a former Hugo Chavez translator and the son of Weather Underground radicals, doesn’t believe in charging offenders for any number of “quality of life” crimes, including prostitution, public urination, defecating on sidewalks, and “public camping.” His upset victory last week over Democratic establishment candidate Suzy Loftus alarmed San Francisco police officers like Sgt. Tony Montoya, who worried that the election will make the city safer for criminals and more perilous for law-abiding tourists and residents.

Also prevailing in the Nov. 5 election was Democrat Jack Stollsteimer, who edged Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun Copeland in the Philadelphia suburbs, thanks in part to a $1 million donation from Mr. Soros to his pro-Stollsteimer Pennsylvania Justice & Public Safety PAC. The playbook was similar to the one Mr. Soros used to help elect progressive prosecutors such as Kim Foxx in Chicago, Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, and Rachael Rollins in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. All three endorsed Mr. Boudin.

Overwhelming the opposition with cash doesn’t always work, especially now that other candidates have been forewarned about the Soros onslaught. In May 2018, prosecutor Kevin Barton beat back a challenge from Soros-funded candidate Max Wall in Washington County, Oregon, in part because Mr. Barton was able to counter the funding surge with support from local donors like Nike’s Phil Knight, as reported by Oregon Public Broadcasting. In June, three of four Soros-backed candidates in California lost their bids to upend incumbent prosecutors who loudly denounced the effort to usher in DAs “bought and paid for by a billionaire with no ties to our community,” as Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert put it.

Michele Hanisee, president of the Association of Deputy District Attorneys in Los Angeles County, has been outspoken about the out-of-state interference, accusing Mr. Soros of attempting to “bypass the legislative process” with candidates who support his “political agenda and social views.” “A staple of these candidates is the promise not to enforce laws with which they disagree,” said Ms. Hanisee in a 2018 op-ed headlined, “The Ongoing Attempt to Buy the Criminal Justice System.” Mr. Soros isn’t working alone. He donated $50 million in 2014 to the ACLU to “support its nationwide campaign to end mass incarceration,” while other groups have stepped in to campaign to seat progressive district attorneys.

Case in point is Mr. Boudin, who was the race’s top fundraiser at $623,000 despite no obvious Soros fingerprints. He received a high-profile endorsement from Sen. Bernie Sanders, and support from the SEIU and the Real Justice PAC, co-founded by activist Shaun King and former Sanders campaign staffers. The PAC’s biggest funder is the Open Philanthropy Project’s Cari Tuna, wife of Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Meanwhile, Ms. Loftus lost despite the overwhelming support of the Democratic power base in California, including Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, as well as Gov. Gavin Newsom. Mr. Soros is one of the party’s biggest donors.

“Even though you may not have seen the Soros money directly attached to this, you saw people connected to Soros making the donations,” said Sgt. Montoya. “I think that the Bernie Sanders last-minute endorsement kind of energized his movement. Bernie Sanders is an influential person, and it didn’t hurt his campaign any, that’s for sure.” The police association and other law-enforcement groups put up the fiercest resistance to Mr. Boudin, whose platform included ending cash bail, prosecuting ICE agents who “break California law,” and review past convictions of immigrants facing deportation. At his victory party, San Francisco Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer led the crowd in chants of “F– the POA,” as shown on video, prompting the Police Officers Association to demand an apology. Mr. Boudin did not attend.

Most district attorneys don’t have parents serving prison time for murder, but Mr. Boudin’s campaign was able to turn the candidate’s past to his advantage. In an ad, he talks about how his parents’ incarceration framed his views on criminal justice. “Growing up, I had to go through a metal detector and steel gates just to give my parents a hug,” said Mr. Boudin in the video, adding that “prison visits teach hard lessons. I learned that our criminal justice system is broken. It’s a system of mass incarceration, plagued by radical disparities.” His parents were sentenced for their roles as getaway drivers in the 1981 Brink’s robbery that resulted in the murders of two officers and a security guard. He was raised by their friends, radicals Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. His mother, Kathy Boudin, was paroled in 2003, while his father, David Gilbert, remains in prison.

“This is not about, everyone goes to prison for the rest of their lives, but if we’re going to be doing any kind of reforming, let’s be thoughtful,” said Sgt. Montoya. “But this criminal-before-the-victim-type policy from a public safety standpoint is very dangerous.” Despite his mixed success in California, Mr. Soros may be unable to resist the 2020 race for Los Angeles County District Attorney. Former San Francisco DA George Gascon recently moved to Los Angeles with the goal of unseating DA Jackie Lacey in the March 2020 primary. Meanwhile, the Real Justice PAC has endorsed two Texas progressives running for DA, Jose Garza in Travis County (Austin) and Audia Jones in Harris County (Houston). The election is March 3.

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

“PAC funded by George Soros pumps nearly $1 million into local races for prosecutor,” The Washington Post reported in June, about the money from the Justice and Public Safety PAC that went to the left-leaners of both Arlington County, Virginia, and Fairfax County, Virginia, commonwealth’s attorney races.’ “Soros Adds Intrigue and $800,000 to D.A.

So I am going to wrap up this addendum section with a snopes rebuttal on the DA campaign funding claims. It is only fair that I do so. Though I am beginning to wonder about some of these fact checking sites. It is evident that the actions of District Attorneys across the is suspect. There is no denying that there is a reticence among DA’s to prosecute rioters in this country.

Origin

Billionaire political activist George Soros has long been the target of inaccurate and misleading reporting by hyperpartisan right-wing web sites.

During the summer of 2018, a number of those sites posted identically-worded articles with headlines asserting that Soros could “officially go to prison for years” as a result of $1.8 billion of his money being “intercepted” by unnamed entities (presumably law enforcement agencies). For example, the following excerpt was taken from a 4 July 2018 blog post on viralitythings.us:

BREAKING: $1.8 BIL Of Soros’ Money Just Intercepted — He Could Officially Go To Prison For Years

George Soros is at it again throwing his money around and trying to manipulate political races. This time he’s trying to reshape the nation’s criminal justice system.

Soros thinks he can do this by dumping $1.8 billion into four of the 56 district attorney positions in California up for grabs June 5th. This is the same kind of tactic he used to grab control of attorney generals in varying states.

Soros isn’t the only one either. Wealthy progressive liberal donors are also pouring millions of dollars into these races.

Liberal groups are offering their support to would-be prosecutors who favor lower incarceration rates, crackdowns on police misconduct and changes in a bail system that they argue discriminates against the poor, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“These people who want to create their own social policy are not worthy of the office,” former Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley told the newspaper. “If they win in San Diego or Sacramento, L.A. is next.

You mean the city where the Mexican mafia runs the prisons? That city? Soros headlines a consortium of private funders, the American Civil Liberties Union and other social justice groups and Democratic activists who are willing to put their money where their Marxism is.

Notwithstanding its headline, nowhere in the body of the post did it actually state that Soros’s money was “intercepted,” much less detail when, where, why, or by whom. Nor did it state that Soros was faceing prison time for contributing to election campaigns.

Moreover, neither of those allegations could be found in the 23 May 2018 Los Angeles Times story the blog post cited as the main source of its claims. The Times‘ coverage focused on the unprecedented amount of money flowing from wealthy liberal donors into local, nonpartisan district attorney election campaigns around the country. Soros wasn’t the only contributor of such funding (but he was the largest). Although the article raised questions about the wisdom and propriety of injecting partisan cash into these elections, it imputed no illegality to Soros’s actions.

Besides fabricating claims about Soros’ going to jail, the blog post distorted the total dollar amount the billionaire contributed to district attorney campaigns: $18.97 million as of May 2018 (according to the Times), not $1.8 billion as claimed. We have not found the higher figure cited in any legitimate news reports.

In short, the author of the widely aggregated blog post fudged the facts and added fabricated claims to transform legitimate reporting on George Soros’s localized campaign contributions into a political smear. Who was that author? Although the majority of reproductions of the post included no byline, we did find one listed on what appears to be the original post, which was published on a web site called Right Wing News on 25 May 2018. It was authored by Terresa Monroe-Hamilton, whose byline appears on many other articles on that site as well as on other far-right web publications.

We note, however, that two major revisions were made after Monroe-Hamilton’s post was originally published. First, the headline was changed from “BREAKING: $1.8 BIL Of Soros’ Money Just Intercepted – He Could Officially Go To Prison For Years” to “OPINION: $1.8 Million Of Soros’ Money Just Intercepted – He Should Officially Go To Prison For Years.” Second, the sentence “Soros thinks he can do this by dumping $1.8 billion into four of the 56 district attorney positions in California…” was changed to “Soros thinks he can do this by dumping $1.5 Million into four of the 56 district attorney positions in California …”

WHO IS GEORGE SOROS AND WHY HE HATES AMERICA

INTRODUCING GEORGE SOROS

New York hedge fund manager George Soros is one of the most politically powerful individuals on earth. Since the mid-1980s in particular, he has used his immense influence to help reconfigure the political landscapes of several countries around the world—in some cases playing a key role in toppling regimes that had held the reins of government for years, even decades. Vis à vis the United States, a strong case can be made for the claim that Soros today affects American politics and culture more profoundly that any other living person.

Much of Soros’s influence derives from his multi-billion-dollar personal fortune, which is further leveraged by at least another $25 billion in investor assets controlled by his firm, Soros Fund Management. An equally significant source of Soros’s power, however, is his passionate messianic zeal. Soros views himself as a missionary with something of a divine mandate to transform the world and its institutions into something better—as he sees it.

Over the years, Soros has given voice to this sense of grandiosity many times and in a variety of different ways. In his 1987 book The Alchemy of Finance, for instance, he wrote: “I admit that I have always harbored an exaggerated view of self-importance—to put it bluntly, I fancied myself as some kind of god or an economic reformer like Keynes or, even better, a scientist like Einstein.” Expanding on this theme in his 1991 book Underwriting Democracy, Soros said: “If truth be known, I carried some rather potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood,” fantasies which “I wanted to indulge … to the extent that I could afford.”4 In a June 1993 interview with The Independent, Soros, who is an atheist, said he saw himself as “some kind of god, the creator of everything.” In an interview two years later, he portrayed himself as someone who shared numerous attributes with “God in the Old Testament” — “You know, like invisible. I was pretty invisible. Benevolent. I was pretty benevolent. All-seeing. I tried to be all-seeing.” Soros told his biographer Michael Kaufman that his “goal” was nothing less ambitious than “to become the conscience of the world” by using his charitable foundations, which will be discussed at length in this pamphlet, to bankroll organizations and causes that he deems worthwhile

“I realized [as a young man] that it’s money that makes the world go round,” says Soros, “so I might as well make money.… But having made it, I could then indulge my social concerns.” Invariably, those concerns center around a desire to change the world generally—and America particularly—into something new, something consistent with his vision of “social justice.” Claiming to be “driven” by “illusions, or perhaps delusions, of grandeur,” Soros has humorously described himself as “a kind of nut who wants to have an impact” on the workings of the world. The billionaire’s longtime friend Byron Wien, currently the vice chairman of Blackstone Advisory Services, offers this insight: “You must understand [Soros] thinks he’s been anointed by God to solve insoluble problems. The proof is that he has been so successful at making so much [money]. He therefore thinks he has a responsibility to give money away”—to causes that are consistent with his values and agendas.

GEORGE SOROS’S ROOTS AND DEVELOPMENT

George Soros was born to Tividar and Erzebat Schwartz, non-practicing Jews, in Budapest, Hungary on August 12, 1930. Tivadar was an attorney by profession, but the consuming passion of his life was the promotion of Esperanto—an artificial, “universal” language created during the 1880s in hopes that people worldwide might be persuaded to drop their native tongues and speak Esperanto instead—thereby, in theory at least, minimizing their nationalist impulses while advancing intercultural harmony. In 1936, Tivadar changed his family surname to Soros—a future-tense Esperanto verb meaning “will soar.”

When the Nazis occupied Budapest in 1944, Tivadar decided to split up his family so as to minimize the chance that all its members would be killed together. For each of them—his wife and two sons—he purchased forged papers identifying them as Christians; paid government officials to conceal his family’s Jewish heritage from the German and Hungarian fascists; and bribed Gentile families to take them into their homes. As for George in particular, the father paid a Hungarian government official named Baumbach to claim George as his Christian godson, “Sandor Kiss,” and to let the boy live with him in Budapest. One of Baumbach’s duties was to deliver deportation notices to Hungary’s Jews, confiscating their property and turning it over to Germany. Young George Soros sometimes accompanied the official on his rounds.14 Many years later, in December 1998, a CBS interviewer would ask Soros whether he had ever felt any guilt about his association with Baumbach during that period. Soros replied: “… I was only a spectator … I had no role in taking away that property. So I had no sense of guilt.”

Soros today recalls the German occupation of Hungary as “probably the happiest year of my life.” “For me,” he elaborates, “it was a very positive experience. It’s a strange thing because you see incredible suffering around you and the fact you are in considerable danger yourself. But you’re fourteen years old and you don’t believe that it can actually touch you. You have a belief in yourself. You have a belief in your father. It’s a very happy-making, exhilarating experience.”

In 1947 the Soros family relocated from Hungary to England, where George attended the London School of Economics (LSE). There, he was exposed to the works of the Viennese-born philosopher Karl Popper, who taught at LSE and whom Soros would later call his “spiritual mentor.” Though Soros never studied directly under Popper, he read the latter’s works and submitted some essays to him for review and comment. Most notably, Popper’s 1945 book The Open Society and Its Enemies introduced Soros to the concept of an “open society,” a theme that would play a central role in Soros’s thought and activities for the rest of his life.

The term “open society” was originally coined in 1932 by the French philosopher Henri Louis Bergson, to describe societies whose moral codes were founded upon “universal” principles seeking to enhance the welfare of all mankind—as opposed to “closed” societies that placed self-interest above any concern for other nations and cultures. Popper readily embraced this concept and expanded upon it. In his view, the open society was a place that permitted its citizens the right to criticize and change its institutions as they saw fit; he rejected the imposed intellectual conformity, central planning, and historical determinism of Marxist doctrine. By Popper’s reckoning, a society was “closed”—and thus undesirable—if it assumed that it was in any way superior to other societies. Likewise, any belief system or individual claiming to be in possession of “ultimate truth” was an “enemy” of the open society as well. Popper viewed all knowledge as conjectural rather than certain, as evolving rather than fixed.

Thus, by logical extension, Popper did not share the American founders’ confident assertion that certain truths were “self-evident,” and that certain rights—such as the right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” as referenced in the Declaration of Independence—were “unalienable” and thus not subject to doubt, because they had been granted to mankind by the ultimate authority, the “Creator.” We shall see that George Soros, as he grew to maturity, would likewise reject the founders’ premise. Indeed Soros would harbor great disdain for modern-day American political figures who displayed unshakable confidence in their own culture’s nobility, and who embraced the tenets of the Declaration and the U.S. Constitution as timeless, immutable truths. To Soros, “Popper’s greatest contribution to philosophy” was his teaching that “the ultimate truth remains permanently beyond our reach.”

After graduating in 1952 from LSE, Soros joined the London brokerage firm Singer and Friedlander, where he became proficient in international arbitrage, which he defines as “buying securities in one country and selling them in another.” Four years later, he relocated to New York to work as a stock trader on Wall Street. Because Soros “did not particularly care for” the “commercial, crass” United States, he had no intention of settling permanently in America. Rather, he had devised a “five-year plan” to save some $500,000 and then return to Europe. His plan changed, however, when he found work as a portfolio manager at the investment bank Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder Inc., where his career—as if to fulfill the prophecy embedded in the family surname his father had adopted two decades earlier—soared to new height.

In 1959 Soros moved to Greenwich Village, New York, where early stirrings of the Sixties counterculture were already being felt. In September 1960 he married Annaliese Witschak, who would be his wife until the couple divorced 23 years later. In 1961 Soros became a U.S. citizen, and two years later he and Annaliese had their first child, a son. In the Village, it is likely that Soros was exposed to the ideas of the prominent socialist Michael Harrington, who mingled with fellow radicals and socialists almost nightly at a tavern situated barely a stone’s throw from Soros’s residence. In 1962 Harrington wrote The Other America, a book lamenting the fact that a substantial “invisible” underclass continued to exist even as the country at large prospered, and suggesting that a “war on poverty” was needed to rectify this. President Lyndon Johnson read and admired the book, and its ideas greatly influenced his Great Society policies of government-imposed redistribution of wealth.

Another prominent Village personality of the era—the poet, New Left radical, and psychedelic-drug guru Allen Ginsberg—would eventually become a “lifelong friend” of Soros. Though Soros may not have formally met Ginsberg until around 1980—long after his years in the Village—the billionaire today credits Ginsberg for having opened his eyes to the benefits of drug legalization, which has been one of Soros’s pet projects throughout his philanthropic career.

In 1969 Soros established the “Double Eagle Fund” for Bleichroeder with $4 million in capital, including $250,000 of his own money. Four years later, Soros and his assistant at Bleichroeder, Jim Rogers, set up a private partnership called Soros Fund Management. They subsequently changed the Double Eagle Fund’s name to The Soros Fund. In 1979 they renamed it again—The Quantum Fund; its value grew to $381 million by 1980, and more than $1 billion by 1985.

SOROS THE PHILANTHROPIST

It was in 1979 that Soros began testing the proverbial waters of philanthropy. Five years later he launched, in the country of his birth, the first of his many Open Society Foundations—named after the concept advanced by Karl Popper—to help “build vibrant and tolerant democracies whose governments are accountable to their citizens.” But it was not until 1987, the year he opened his Moscow office, that Soros began to disseminate truly large amounts of money to various groups and causes. “My spending rose from $3 million in 1987 to more than $300 million a year by 1992,” he said. During this period, Soros established a series of foundations throughout Eastern Europe and Central Asia. He happily observed that because of his extraordinary wealth, major political figures “suddenly became very interested in seeing me…. [M]y influence increased.” Today Soros’s Open Society Foundations are active in more than 70 countries around the world.

In 1993 Soros established the flagship of the Soros foundation network—the New York City-based Open Society Foundations (OSF), which went by the name of the Open Society Institute until 2010. While OSF’s philanthropy extends to a number of nations around the world, it is chiefly devoted to injecting capital into American groups and causes. In his book Open Society: Reforming Global Capitalism, Soros explains that the “open society” which he seeks to advance by means of philanthropy, “stands for freedom, democracy, rule of law, human rights, social justice, and social responsibility as a universal idea.”34 But of course, abstract concepts like these, draped in vestments of lofty rhetoric, can mean radically different things to different people.

Entrusted with the task of defining the foregoing terms for the OSF, and for articulating OSF’s agendas from the outset, was Aryeh Neier, whom Soros appointed to serve as president not only of OSF, but of the entire Soros Foundation Network. Thirty-four years earlier, Neier had created the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), which became the largest and most important radical group of the 1960s. SDS aspired to overthrow America’s democratic institutions, remake its government in a Marxist image, and undermine the nation’s war efforts in Vietnam. (A particularly militant faction of SDS would later break away to form the Weather Underground, a notorious domestic terror organization with a Marxist-Leninist agenda.) Following his stint with SDS, Neier worked fifteen years for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)—including eight years as its national executive director. After that, he spent twelve years as executive director of Human Rights Watch (HRW), an organization he founded in 1978.

THE SOROS AGENDAS

Both the ACLU and HRW have long promoted one of the central contentions of Soros’s Open Society Foundations: the notion that America is institutionally an oppressive nation and a habitual violator of human rights both at home and abroad—indeed, the very antithesis of the type of “open society” Soros reveres. Consider first the ACLU, whose advisory board once included the former Weather Underground terrorist Bernardine Dohrn. The ACLU has opposed virtually all post-9/11 national security measures enacted by the U.S. government, depicting those measures not only as excessively harsh and invasive generally, but also as discriminatory against Muslims in particular. Moreover, the organization has filed numerous lawsuits seeking to limit the government’s ability to locate, monitor, and apprehend terrorist operatives. It consistently depicts American society as one that is rife with intractable racial injustice. And it works tirelessly to protect illegal immigrants against “governmental abuse and discrimination.” These (and many other) ACLU activities and policy positions are entirely consistent with those of Aryeh Neier and George Soros, as evidenced by the fact that between 1999 and 2008, OSF awarded $8.69 million in grants to the ACLU Foundation.

Neier’s other training ground, Human Rights Watch, has a long history of pointing an accusatory finger at America’s allegedly numerous transgressions. Most notably, HRW has derided the U.S. war on terror as a foolhardy endeavor rooted in blindness to the realization that terrorism stems, in large measure, from America’s failure “to promote fundamental rights around the world.”40 In a March 2007 speech, HRW executive director Kenneth Roth charged that the United States, by routinely “using torture and inhumane treatment” to deal with its foes, had “severely damaged its credibility when it comes to promoting human rights” in other nations.41 Between 2000 and 2008, the Open Society Foundations awarded grants and other contributions to HRW that collectively totaled $6,386,477.42 Then, in September 2010, Soros announced that he would soon be giving HRW another $100 million.43 Notably, Soros himself once served on HRW’s Europe and Central Asia Advisory Committee.

OSF’s total assets today exceed $1.9 billion. Each year, the Foundations award scores of millions of dollars in grants to organizations that—like the ACLU and HRW—promote worldviews and objectives accordant with those of George Soros. Following is a sampling of the major agendas advanced by groups that Soros and OSF support financially. Listed under each category heading are a few OSF donees fitting that description. Organizations that accuse America of violating the civil rights and liberties of many of its residents.

Organizations that depict America as a nation whose enduring racism must be counterbalanced by racial and ethnic preferences in favor of nonwhites:

Organizations that specifically portray the American criminal-justice system as racist and inequitable:

Organizations that call for massive social change, and for the recruitment and training of activist leaders to help foment that change:

Organizations that disparage capitalism while promoting a dramatic expansion of social-welfare programs funded by ever-escalating taxes:

Organizations that support socialized medicine in the United States:

Organizations that strive to move American politics to the left by promoting the election of progressive political candidates:

Organizations that promote leftist ideals and worldviews in the media and the arts:

In May 2011, the Media Research Center reported that from 2003-2011, Soros had spent more than $48 million “funding media properties, including the infrastructure of news — journalism schools, investigative journalism and even industry organizations.” Among the beneficiaries of Soros’s money were such entities as: ABC, The American Prospect Inc. (the owner and publisher of The American Prospect magazine), the Center for Public Integrity, the Center for Investigative Reporting, the Columbia Journalism Review, the Columbia School of Journalism, the Committee to Protect Journalists, Free Press, the Independent Media Center, the Independent Media InstituteThe Lens, the Media FundMedia Matters For America, the Nation Institute, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the National Federation of Community Broadcasters, National Public Radio, NBC, the Organization of News Ombudsmen, the New York Times, the Pacifica FoundationProPublica, and the Washington Post, . Below are some brief descriptions of a few of these organizations:

Organizations that seek to inject the American judicial system with leftist values:

Organizations that advance leftist agendas by infiltrating churches and religious congregations:

Think tanks that promote leftist policies:

Organizations that promote open borders, mass immigration, a watering down of current immigration laws, increased rights and benefits for illegal aliens, and ultimately amnesty:

Organizations that oppose virtually all post-9/11 national-security measures enacted by the U.S. government:

Organizations that defend suspected anti-American terrorists and their abetters:

Organizations that depict virtually all American military actions as unwarranted and immoral:

Organizations that advocate America’s unilateral disarmament and/or a steep reduction in its military spending:

Organizations that promote radical environmentalism:

Groups in this category typically oppose mining and logging initiatives, commercial fishing enterprises, development and construction in wilderness areas, the use of coal, the use of pesticides, and oil and gas exploration in “environmentally sensitive” locations. Moreover, they claim that human industrial activity leads to excessive carbon-dioxide emissions which, in turn, cause a potentially cataclysmic phenomenon called “global warming.” Examples of such Soros donees include the Alliance for Climate ProtectionEarthjustice, the Earth Island InstituteFriends of the EarthGreen For All, and the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Another major recipient of Soros money is the Tides Foundation, which receives cash from all manner of donors—individuals, groups, and other foundations—and then funnels it to designated left-wing recipients. Having given more than $400 million to “progressive nonprofit organizations” since 2000, Tides is a heavy backer of environmental organizations, though its philanthropy extends also into many other areas.

George Soros presents himself as an environmentalist of the first order and is quick to condemn industrial corporations for allegedly trampling recklessly over the earth’s ecosystems in pursuit of the almighty dollar. But in fact, Soros himself has proven to be quite willing to despoil Mother Nature in exchange for profits of his own. Consider, for example, his involvement in the Argentine beef industry, which environmentalists claim is responsible for massive levels of water pollution and deforestation. Argentina’s biggest landowner is none other than George Soros, with some 500,000 hectares of land and 150,000 head of cattle to his name. Moreover, Soros is a part owner of Apex Silver Mines, which operates in a remote and ecologically sensitive region of Bolivia.

Organizations that oppose the death penalty in all circumstances:

In 2000 George Soros co-signed a letter to President Bill Clinton asking for a moratorium on the death penalty, on grounds that it tended to be implemented disproportionately against black and Hispanic offenders.

Consistent with the billionaire’s opposition to capital punishment, his Open Society Foundations have given millions of dollars to anti-death penalty organizations such as New Yorkers Against the Death Penalty, Witness to Innocence, Equal Justice USA, the Death Penalty Information Center, People of Faith against the Death Penalty, and the Fair Trial Initiative.

Organizations that promote modern-day feminism’s core tenetthat America is fundamentally a sexist society where discrimination and violence against women have reached epidemic proportions:

Organizations that promote not only women’s right to taxpayer-funded abortion on demand, but also political candidates who take that same position:

Organizations that favor global government which would bring American foreign policy under the control of the United Nations or other international bodies:

According to George Soros, “[W]e need some global system of political decision-making. In short, we need a global society to support our global economy.” Consistent with this perspective, the Open Society Foundations in 2008 gave $150,000 to the United Nations Foundation, which “works to broaden support for the UN through advocacy and public outreach.” Moreover, OSF is considered a “major” funder of the Coalition for an International Criminal Court, which aims to subordinate American criminal-justice procedures in certain cases to an international prosecutor who could initiate capricious or politically motivated prosecutions of U.S. officials and military officers.

Organizations that support drug legalization:

Dismissing the notion of “a drug-free America” as nothing more than “a utopian dream,” George Soros says that “the war on drugs” is “insane” and, “like the Vietnam War,” simply “cannot be won.”133 “I’ll tell you what I would do if it were up to me,” says Soros. “I would establish a strictly controlled distribution network through which I would make most drugs, excluding the most dangerous ones like crack, legally available.” In 1998 Soros was a signatory to a public letter addressed to United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, declaring that “the global war on drugs is now causing more harm than drug abuse itself.” The letter blamed the war on drugs for impeding such public health efforts as stemming the spread of HIV, hepatitis, and other infectious diseases, as well as human rights violations and the perpetration of environmental assaults. Other notable signers included Tammy BaldwinRev. William Sloan Coffin, Jr.Walter CronkiteMorton H. HalperinPeter LewisKweisi Mfume, and Cornel West.

Soros and his Open Society Foundations have given many millions of dollars to groups supporting drug-legalization and needle-exchange programs. In 1996, former Carter administration official Joseph Califano called Soros “the Daddy Warbucks of drug legalization.” According to a Capital Research Center publication, “It’s no exaggeration to say that without Soros there would be no serious lobby against the drug war.”

A leading recipient of Soros funding is the Drug Policy Alliance (DPA), which seeks to loosen narcotics laws, promotes “treatment-not-incarceration” policies for non-violent drug offenders, and advocates syringe-access programs “to help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.” Soros himself formerly sat on the DPA board of directors. As recently as 2010, Soros contributed $1 million to support a California ballot measure known as Proposition 19, which would have legalized personal marijuana use in the state; the measure, however, was rejected by voters on election day.

Peter Schweizer, author of Do As I Say (Not As I Do), speculates on the possible reasons underlying Soros’s support for drug legalization:

“One very possible answer is that he hopes to profit from them [drugs] once they become legal. He has been particularly active in South America, buying up large tracts of land and forging alliances with those in a position to mass-produce narcotics should they become legalized in the United States. He has also helped fund the Andean Council of Coca Leaf producers. Needless to say, this organization would stand to benefit enormously from the legalization of cocaine. He has also taken a 9 percent stake in Banco de Colombia, located in the Colombian drug capital of Cali. The Drug Enforcement Administration has speculated that the bank is being used to launder money and that Soros’s fellow shareholders may be members of a major drug cartel.”

Organizations that support euthanasia for the terminally ill:

Soros has long promoted the cause of physician-assisted suicide in an effort to change public attitudes about death. Toward that end, in 1994 he began giving money to the (now defunct) Project on Death in America (PDA), whose purpose was to provide “end-of-life” assistance for ailing people and to enact public policy that will “transform the culture and experience of dying and bereavement.” Over a 9-year period, the Open Society Foundations gave $45 million to PDA.

Notably, PDA’s mission was congruent with the goals of those who support government-run health care, which invariably features bureaucracies tasked with allocating scarce resources and thus determining who will, and who will not, be eligible for particular medications and treatments. Such bureaucracies generally make their calculations based upon cost-benefit analyses of a variety of possible treatments. Ultimately these decisions tend to disfavor the very old and the very sick, because whatever benefits they might gain from expensive interventions are likely to be of short duration, and thus are not judged to be worth the costs. Soros himself has suggested that “[a]ggressive, life-prolonging interventions, which may at times go against the patient’s wishes, are much more expensive than proper care for the dying.” Additional pro-euthanasia groups funded by Soros and OSF are the following:

Organizations that have pressured mortgage lenders to make loans to undercapitalized borrowers, a practice that helped spark the subprime mortgage crisis and housing-market collapse of 2008:

Organizations that exhort the U.S. and Israel to negotiate with, and to make concessions to, Arab terrorist groups and regimes that have pledged to destroy America and Israel alike:

SOROS’S POLITICAL CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS

Apart from the more than $5 billion that Soros’ foundation network has donated to leftist groups like those cited above, Soros personally has made campaign contributions to such notable political candidates as Joe BidenBarbara BoxerSherrod BrownBill ClintonHillary ClintonJon CorzineHoward DeanRichard DurbinLane EvansAl FrankenAl GoreTom HarkinMaurice HincheyJohn KerryDennis KucinichPatrick LeahyBarack ObamaCharles RangelHarry ReidKen SalazarCharles SchumerJoe Sestak, and Tom Udall. He also has given large sums of money to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Democratic National Committee Services Corporation, and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

SOROS MEETS THE CLINTONS

Around the time that George Soros initially launched his Manhattan-based Open Society Foundations, he established what would prove to be a warm and enduring relationship with Bill and Hillary Clinton, the new American President and First Lady. When the Clintons took office in early 1993, they faced the daunting task of helping the collapsed Soviet empire rise from its ruins and cultivate a harmonious relationship with the United States. To lead this endeavor, President Clinton appointed three men: Treasury Department official Lawrence Summers, Vice President Al Gore, and soon-to-be State Department official Strobe Talbott. Talbott in particular was given a large degree of authority, prompting some observers to dub him as Clinton’s “Russian policy czar.”150 It so happened that Talbot had an exceptionally high regard for the financial expertise of George Soros—describing him as “a national resource, indeed, a national treasure”—and thus he recruited the billionaire to serve as a key advisor on U.S.-Russian matters.

Soros, in turn, had connections with a young economist whom he had been funding—Jeffrey Sachs, director of the Harvard Institute for International Development. The U.S. Agency for International Development assigned Sachs’ Institute to oversee Russia’s transformation to a market economy after more than seven decades of communism. As a consequence of this assignment, Sachs and his team essentially represented the United States as official economic advisors to Russian President Boris Yeltsin. Soros worked closely with Sachs on this project, and the pair held enormous sway over Yeltsin. So great was their influence, in fact, that on one occasion Soros quipped that “the former Soviet Empire is now called the Soros Empire.” But before long, members of Sachs’s team became involved in massive corruption, exploiting for personal gain their access to Russia’s political and economic leaders. Their actions contributed to the collapse of the Russian economy and to the diversion of some $100 billion out of the country. Though Sachs himself was not accused of profiting personally from these activities, he resigned as director of the Harvard Institute in May 1999, under a dark cloud of scandal. The U.S. House Banking Committee investigated the matter and called Soros to testify. The billionaire denied culpability but admitted that he had used insider access in an illegal deal to acquire a large portion of Sidanko Oil. Soros further acknowledged in Congressional testimony that some of the missing Russian assets had made their way into his personal investment portfolio. House Banking Committee chairman Jim Leach characterized the entire sordid affair as “one of the greatest social robberies in human history.”

As the Nineties progressed, it became increasingly evident that Bill and Hillary Clinton embraced virtually all of the values and agendas that George Soros was funding through his Open Society Foundations. “I do now have great access in [the Clinton] administration,” said Soros in 1995. “There is no question about this. We actually work together as a team.”

Soros and Mrs. Clinton in particular held one another in the highest esteem. In November 1997, when Hillary was in Central Asia for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly built American University of Kyrgyzstan, she delivered a speech in which she lavished praise on Soros’s Open Society Foundations, which had financed the school’s construction.160 According to Center for American Democracy director Rachel Ehrenfeld, one source close to Mrs. Clinton’s inner circle reports that Soros visited Hillary at the White House during the Bill Clinton impeachment proceedings of 1998-99, when the First Lady was receiving only her most trusted confidantes.161 A few years later, at a June 2004 “Take Back America” conference in Washington, Mrs. Clinton introduced Soros as a courageous man who loved his country deeply. “[W]e need people like George Soros,” she said, “who is fearless, and willing to step up when it counts.” Soros, in turn, indicated that he was “very, very proud to be introduced” by someone for whom he had such “great, great admiration.” He described Hillary as someone who had been “more effective than most of our statesmen in propagating democracy, freedom, and open society.”

9/11, AND SOROS’S DEEPER IMMERSION INTO AMERICAN POLITICS

September 11, 2001 was a watershed moment not only in American history but also in George Soros’s philanthropic career. Soros viewed the 9/11 terrorist attacks as confirmation that U.S. foreign policy—particularly under President George W. Bush, who had taken office eight months earlier—was moving in a dangerous direction, giving rise to anti-American hatred in the hearts of people all across the globe. By Soros’s reckoning, Bush embodied the very antithesis of the “open society” ideal. Specifically, the billionaire detested what he viewed as the arrogance the President displayed when he publicly branded America’s enemies as “evil”; when he unapologetically expressed his faith in the exceptionalism of his own culture; and when he seemed disinclined to consider the possibility that the terrorists may have had something valuable to teach Americans about how the rest of the world perceived the United States. Moreover, Soros considered terrorism to be, in large measure, a consequence of economic inequity and the exploitation of poor countries by their wealthier counterparts.

Reasoning from these premises, Soros—while conceding that the retaliatory U.S. invasion of Afghanistan was justifiable163—maintained that the proper long-term response to 9/11 would be for America to launch a global war on poverty. Such an undertaking would be modeled on the Great Society programs which the Johnson administration had instituted in the 1960s—on the theory that by pouring rivers of taxpayer dollars into the nation’s violence-torn ghettos, the presumably justified rage of the rioters could be quelled. In a similar vein, Soros now held that the best way to fight international terrorism would be for the affluent USA to send massive amounts of aid to impoverished regions around the world where the phenomenon tended to originate. Indeed, he had long maintained that the “root causes” of terrorism were “poverty” and “ignorance.” Just eight days after 9/11, Soros gave a speech where he said that the “cornerstone” of his “plan” was to “address the social conditions that provide a fertile ground from which [terrorist] volunteers who are willing to sacrifice their lives can be recruited.” This plan would call on “rich countries” to boost their levels of “international assistance,” which—while unlikely to “prevent people like bin Laden from exercising their evil genius”—would “help to alleviate the grievances on which extremism of all kinds feeds.”

On subsequent occasions, Soros would reiterate his belief that terrorism was caused by a dearth of “international income redistribution” and a “growing inequality between rich and poor, both within countries and among countries.” “A global open society,” Soros stressed, “requires affirmative action on a global scale.” By contrast, Soros was largely silent on the issue of Islam’s longstanding tradition of jihad, which predated by many hundreds of years any potentially objectionable U.S. foreign-policy initiatives. Rather, he called for a “radical reordering” of American “priorities,” where “[i]nstead of devoting the bulk of the budget to military expenditures to implement the Bush doctrine, we would engage in preventive actions of a constructive nature.” “The United States cannot do whatever it wants,” he scolded. “… Our nation must concern itself with the well-being of the world.”

In Soros’s calculus, 9/11 represented “an unusual opportunity to rethink and reshape the world.” Observing that the recent attacks had “shocked” Americans “into realizing that others may regard them very differently from the way they see themselves,” Soros posited that his fellow countrymen were “more ready to reassess the world and the role the United States plays in it than in normal times.”170 And acknowledging that “[t]his awareness may not last long,” he said: “I am determined not to let the moment pass.”

The urgency which Soros felt with regard to seizing the moment was further heightened on the night of January 29, 2002, when George W. Bush delivered his State of the Union address. In that speech, the President made his first controversial reference to Iraq as part of an “axis of evil” that posed a potentially deadly threat to America. Bush intimated that he would soon turn his foreign-policy attention toward Saddam Hussein‘s regime, which continued to “flaunt its hostility toward America,” “support terror,” and violate its international agreements. As the President pledged not to “wait on events while dangers gather,” nor to “stand by as peril draws closer and closer,” speculation about a possible U.S. invasion of Iraq began to coalesce.. In Soros’s view, such an invasion would be yet another misguided and senseless endeavor, and he was determined to do whatever he could to prevent it

The very next month, Soros appointed former Clinton administration official Morton Halperin to the post of Open Society Foundations director. Halperin, whom some State Department officials suspected of being a communist agent, had been instrumental in derailing America’s war effort during the Vietnam era, when President Johnson put him in charge of compiling a classified history of U.S. involvement in Southeast Asia. Halperin’s labor ultimately bore fruit—in June 1971—with the publication of the notorious “Pentagon Papers.” Thereafter, Halperin went on to serve (from 1975-1992) as director of an ACLU project called the Center for National Security Studies, which sought to slash U.S. defense expenditures and undermine the nation’s intelligence capabilities. In Target America—James L. Tyson’s 1981 exposé of the Soviet Union’s elaborate “propaganda campaign designed to weaken and demoralize America from the inside”—the author stated

“Halperin … and his organizations have had a constant record of advocating the weakening of U.S. intelligence capabilities. His organizations are also notable for ignoring the activities of the KGB or any other foreign intelligence organization…. A balance sheet analysis of Halperin’s writings and testimonies … gives Halperin a score of 100% on the side of output favorable to the Communist line and 0% on any output opposed to the Communist line.”

Like Halperin, George Soros stridently counseled against military intervention in Iraq, warning that an invasion “would actually be a victory for the terrorists”—because the inevitable killing of “innocent civilians” would give groups like al Qaeda “the kind of radicalization that they are looking for” in order to justify “a vicious cycle of escalating violence.” “War is a false and misleading metaphor in the context of combating terrorism,” said Soros. “Treating the attacks of September 11 as crimes against humanity would have been more appropriate. Crimes require police work, not military action.” Moreover, Soros characterized the so-called “Bush doctrine” of preemptive military action against those who may pose a threat to the U.S. an “atrocious proposition.”

By the time the U.S. invaded Iraq in early 2003, Soros’s contempt for President Bush’s “imperialist vision” had reached a fever pitch. Accusing Bush of “deliberately foster[ing] fear because it helps to keep the nation lined up behind the president,” Soros added cynically: “Terrorism is the ideal enemy. It is invisible and therefore never disappears. An enemy that poses a genuine and recognized threat can effectively hold a nation together.” In August, Soros warned that the very “fate of the world depends on the United States, and President Bush is leading us in the wrong direction” with his “false and dangerous” doctrine. In the fall, Soros referred to Bush administration officials and Republicans generally as “extremists” who “don’t believe in the system of democracy as we know it”; and who embraced “a very dangerous ideology” which held that “the United States … should impose its power, impose its will and its interests on the world.”

Soros routinely condemned Bush for his “unabashed pursuit of self-interest”; for “equating]freedom with American values”; for holding the “simplistic view” that “[w]e are right and they are wrong”; and for harboring a “false sense of certitude” that Americans had “right on our side.” Each of these transgressions, Soros explained, violated the “principles of open society, which recognize that we may be wrong. “The supremacist ideology of the Bush administration,” he added, “is in contradiction with the principles of an open society because it claims possession of an ultimate truth.”

As the Iraq War took an increasing toll in terms of both American and Iraqi lives, Soros wrote that the U.S. military response to 9/11 had actually turned out to be a greater moral atrocity than the original “crime” that prompted it, because the war “has claimed more innocent civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq than have the attacks on the World Trade Center.” In short, Soros characterized the Bush administration’s “pursuit of American supremacy” as more dangerous than Islamist terror.

Not only did Soros believe that Bush was following a mindless and perilous policy, but he saw the President’s motives as wholly dishonorable. Soros repeatedly accused Bush of using intelligence that had been “exposed as exaggerated or even false” to justify the invasion of Iraq under “false pretenses.” He denounced “the exploitation of September 11 by the Bush administration to pursue its policy of dominating the world in the guise of fighting terrorism.” He expanded on this theme by accusing Bush of seeking “to justify repressive measures” on the home front while “establish[ing] a secure alternative to Saudi oil” in the Mideast. “The other important consideration,” Soros added, “was Israel.” He intimated that Bush, by flexing U.S. muscle in the Middle East, was signaling his readiness to intervene in affairs that could potentially affect America’s closest ally in the region. By so doing, said Soros, the President was catering to “the traditional pro-Israel lobby” which included “the evangelical right—and that is the core of the president’s constituency.”

As Soros saw things, the President’s arrogance and corruption had filtered down perceptibly into the ranks of the military personnel who were carrying out Bush’s mission. Thus Soros likened the conduct of American troops to that of communist and fascist thugs, asserting that “the picture of torture in Abu Ghraib” was proof that “the way President Bush conducted the war on terror converted us from victims into perpetrators.” Soros charged that not only had America “violated international law” by “invading Iraq … without a second UN Resolution,” but that it had “violated the Geneva Conventions” by “mistreating and even torturing prisoners.”

On numerous occasions, Soros drew parallels between the Bush administration and some of history’s most infamous totalitarian regimes. Bush’s view that “there is only one model of democracy,” said Soros, was “as false, and potentially as dangerous, as that of the Communists’ belief that there is only one way to organize society.” Soros further likened Bush’s “Orwellian” assertion that “you can have freedom as long as you do what we tell you to do,” to Soviet rhetoric about “people’s democracies.” “When I hear President Bush say, ‘You’re either with us or against us,’ it reminds me of the Germans,” Soros stated. “My experiences under Nazi and Soviet rule have sensitized me.”198 “Who would have thought sixty years ago,” asked Soros, “when Karl Popper wrote The Open Society and Its Enemies, that the United States itself could pose a threat to open society? Yet that is what is happening, both internally and internationally.”

In a September 29, 2003 interview with BBC radio, Soros said it was imperative that there be “a regime change in the United States”—meaning that President Bush must be “voted out of power.” In November, Soros said that because “America, under Bush, is a danger to the world,” the outcome of the forthcoming year’s presidential race had become “the central focus of my life.” “And I’m willing to put my money where my mouth is,” Soros added, declaring that he would willingly trade his entire multi-billion-dollar fortune if doing so could be “guaranteed” to unseat Bush. To his litany of grievances against the President, Soros now added the infamous Florida recount debacle of 2000 and called into question the very legitimacy of Bush’s election victory. “President Bush came to office without a clear mandate,” said Soros. “He was elected president by a single vote on the Supreme Court.”

The types of changes America needed were crystal clear to Soros. Above all else, he wished to steer the country, politically and ideologically, in a direction that was consistent with the agendas of the groups that he had been funding for a decade through his Open Society Foundations. Those agendas could essentially be distilled down to three overriding themes: the diminution of American power, the subjugation of American sovereignty in favor of global governance, and the implementation of redistributive economic policies—both within the U.S. and across national borders. Toward these ends, Soros saw “the forthcoming elections” as “an excellent opportunity to deflate the bubble of American supremacy.” He would employ his wealth and his ideological fervor to capitalize on this opportunity, knowing that the best time to implement radical change is during times of upheaval and crisis—i.e., times like the aftermath of 9/11. “Usually it takes a crisis to prompt a meaningful change in direction,” Soros himself had written in his 2000 book Open Society: Reforming Global Capitalism.

SOROS’S PREVIOUS POLITICAL INTERVENTIONS AROUND THE WORLD

By no means was this the first time that Soros had aimed to engineer the fall of a government which he deemed oppressive. On several previous occasions, he had used his extraordinary wealth to bankroll popular movements seeking to undermine communist and authoritarian regimes in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Specifically, Soros had funded the training, organization and mobilization of many millions of demonstrators who took part in a series of bloodless political revolutions—commonly known as “velvet revolutions” or “color revolutions”—that ultimately brought down governments in those regions. Typically, these mobilizations consisted of massive street rallies (sometimes with hundreds of thousands of participants) and carefully coordinated acts of civil disobedience such as sit-ins and general strikes. In several instances, such Soros-funded protesters challenged the results of popular elections and accused incumbent leaders of election fraud—charges which were then echoed by Soros-funded exit pollsters and Soros-funded media outlets, thereby greatly amplifying the effect of the accusations. A brief survey of Soros’s most noteworthy foreign interventions will be useful at this point.

Soros helped bankroll “Charter 77,” a 1976 document demanding that the Czech government recognize some basic human rights—most notably the freedom to express religious beliefs or political opinions without fear of retributive discrimination—that were already guaranteed by the nation’s constitution. This Charter and the political movement that grew from it ultimately culminated in the velvet revolution that brought down Czechoslovakia’s Communist regime in late 1989.

Soros funding played a critical role in promoting other upheavals in the former Soviet bloc as well. “My foundations,” boasts Soros, “contributed to Democratic regime change in Slovakia in 1998, Croatia in 1999, and Yugoslavia in 2000, mobilizing civil society to get rid of Vladimir Meciar, Franjo Tudjman, and Slobodan Milosevic, respectively.”

Meciar, for his part, was a hardline nationalist whose authoritarian government—characterized by demagoguery, corruption, and hostility toward the Hungarian minority—brought instability and isolation to Slovakia in the mid-1990s. Croatian president Tudjman was likewise an autocrat infamous for his brutality, extreme nationalism, indifference to civil rights, and manipulation of electoral processes. And Milosevic, who served as president of Serbia and Yugoslavia in the 1990s, was an infamous architect of military aggressionwar crimes, and ethnic cleansing. British journalist Neil Clark reports that from 1991 to 2000, Soros and his Open Society Foundations methodically laid the groundwork for the movement that ultimately led to Milosevic’s resignation, “channeling more than $100m to the coffers of the anti-Milosevic opposition, funding political parties, publishing houses and ‘independent’ media…” In a 1996 speech, Croatian President Franjo Tudjman offered a profound insight into how Soros typically injected his influence into the political workings of a given nation by patiently and systematically infiltrating strategic organizations and governmental agencies:

“[Soros and his allies] have spread their tentacles throughout the whole of our society. Soros … had approval to … gather and distribute humanitarian aid.… However, we … allowed them to do almost whatever they wanted.… They have involved in their network … people of all ages and classes … trying to win them over by financial aid.… [Their aim is] control of all spheres of life … setting up a state within a state.…”

Soros also funded Soviet Georgia’s “Rose Revolution,” a popular movement that forced Georgian president Eduard Shevardnadze to resign in November 2003. According to Canada’s Globe and Mail, in February of that year Soros “began laying the brick work for the toppling” of Shevardnadze. “That month, funds from his Open Society Foundations sent a … [Georgian] activist … to Serbia to meet with members of the [resistance] movement and learn how they used street demonstrations to topple dictator Slobodan Milosevic.” That summer, Soros brought some of those Serbian activists to Georgia to train student activists there. Meanwhile, a Soros-funded television station aired weekly broadcasts of the documentary Bringing Down a Dictator, which presented a step-by-step account of the overthrow of Milosevic and played a crucial role in training Georgian insurgents. In the autumn months, Soros spent some $42 million preparing the overthrow movement to mobilize. Then, in mid-November, large-scale anti-government demonstrations spread like wildfire in most of Georgia’s major cities. Shevardnadze, able to read the proverbial writing on the wall, resigned within a matter of days. Soros later told the Los Angeles Times, “I’m delighted by what happened in Georgia, and I take great pride in having contributed to it.” In November 2003, the editor of an English-language daily based in Georgia said, “It’s generally accepted public opinion here that Mr. Soros is the person who planned Shevardnadze’s overthrow.” Notably, some people who worked for Soros’ organizations—including two of the Open Society Georgia Foundation’s former executive directors—later assumed influential positions in the new Georgian government.

Soros thereafter would go on to fund the “Orange Revolution,” a series of protests and political events that took place in Ukraine from late November 2004 to January 2005, ultimately forcing Moscow’s favored candidate, Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych, to lose a controversial and hotly contested presidential election. Also in early 2005, Soros helped finance the “Tulip Revolution”—a massive protest movement that led to the overthrow of President Askar Akayev and his government in the Central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan.

NEW TARGET FOR “REGIME CHANGE”: AMERICA

But right now, in 2003-04, Soros’s primary focus was on the United States, whose government he considered to be at least as dangerous and oppressive as those of the aforementioned communist and authoritarian regimes. “I believe deeply in the values of an open society,” Soros said. “For the past 15 years I have focused my energies on fighting for these values abroad. Now I am doing it in the United States.” Asserting that he could “do a lot more about the issues I care about by changing the government than by pushing the issues,” Soros set out to “puncture the bubble of American supremacy.” To accomplish this, he would create a political apparatus of extraordinary influence.

Soros had quietly laid the groundwork for this apparatus during the preceding eight years. Between 1994 and 2002, the billionaire had spent millions of dollars promoting the passage of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act—better known as the McCain-Feingold Act —which was signed into law in November 2002 by President Bush. Soros began working on this issue shortly after the 1994 midterm elections, when for the first time in nearly half a century, Republicans won strong majorities in both houses of Congress. Political analysts at the time attributed the huge Republican gains in large part to the effectiveness of television advertising—most notably the “Harry and Louise” series (which cost $14 million to produce and air) where a fictional suburban couple exposed the many hidden, and distasteful, details of Hillary Clinton’s proposals for a more socialized national health-care system. Indeed the 1994 election became, to a considerable degree, a referendum on this attempted government takeover of one-sixth of the U.S. economy—and on the Democratic President who had tacitly endorsed it. George Soros was angry that such advertisements were capable of overriding the influence of the major print and broadcast news media, which, because they were overwhelmingly sympathetic to Democrat agendas, had given Hillary’s plan a great deal of free, positive publicity for months. Three weeks after the 1994 elections, Soros announced that he intended to “do something” about “the distortion of our electoral process by the excessive use of TV advertising.” That “something” would be campaign-finance reform.

Starting in 1994, Soros’s Open Society Foundations and a few other leftist foundations began bankrolling front groups and so-called “experts” whose aim was to persuade Congress to swallow the fiction that millions of Americans were clamoring for “campaign-finance reform.” This deceptive strategy was the brainchild of Sean Treglia, a former program officer with the Pew Charitable Trusts. Between 1994 and 2004, some $140 million of foundation cash was used to promote campaign-finance reform. Nearly 90 percent of this amount derived from just eight foundations, one of which was the Open Society Foundations, which contributed $12.6 million to the cause. Among the major recipients of these OSF funds were such pro-reform organizations as the Alliance For Better Campaigns ($650,000); the Brennan Center for Justice (more than $3.3 million); the Center For Public Integrity ($1.7 million); the Center For Responsive Politics ($75,000); Common Cause ($625,000); Democracy 21 ($300,000); Public Campaign ($1.3 million); and Public Citizen ($275,000).

The “research” which these groups produced in order to make a case on behalf of campaign-finance reform was largely bogus and contrived. For instance, Brennan Center political scientist Jonathan Krasno had clearly admitted in his February 19, 1999 grant proposal to the Pew Charitable Trusts that the purpose of the proposed study was political, not scholarly, and that the project would be axed if it failed to yield the desired results:

“The purpose of our acquiring the data set is not simply to advance knowledge for its own sake, but to fuel a continuous multi-faceted campaign to propel campaign reform forward. Whether we proceed to phase two will depend on the judgment of whether the data provide a sufficiently powerful boost to the reform movement.”

The stated purpose of McCain-Feingold was to purge politics of corruption by: (a) putting restrictions on paid advertising during the weeks just prior to political elections, and (b) tightly regulating the amount of money that political parties and candidates could accept from donors. Vis à vis the former of those two provisions, the new legislation barred private organizations—including unions, corporations, and citizen activist groups—from advertising for or against any candidate for federal office on television or radio during the 60 days preceding an election, and during the 30 days preceding a primary. During these blackout periods, only official political parties would be permitted to engage in “express advocacy” advertising—i.e., political ads that expressly urged voters to “vote for” or “vote against” a specified candidate. Equally important, major media networks were exempted from McCain-Feingold’s constraints; thus they were free to speak about candidates in any manner they wished during their regular programming and news broadcasts. This would inevitably be a positive development for Democrats, who enjoyed the near-universal support of America’s leading media outlets.

In addition to its limits on pre-election political advertising, McCain-Feingold also placed onerous new restrictions on the types of donations which candidates, parties, and political action committees (PACs) could now accept. Previously, they had been permitted to take two types of contributions. One of these was “hard money,” which referred to funds earmarked for the purpose of express advocacy. Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations stipulated that in a single calendar year, no hard-money donor could give more than $1,000 to any particular candidate, no more than $5,000 to a PAC, and no more than $20,000 to any political party.

The other category of pre-McCain-Feingold donations was “soft-money,” which donors were permitted to give directly to a political party in amounts unlimited by law. But to qualify for designation as “soft money,” a donation could not be used to fund “express advocacy” ads on behalf of any particular candidate. Rather, it had to be used to pay for such things as “voter-education” ads or “issue-oriented” ads—political messages that carefully refrained from making explicit calls to “vote for” or “vote against” any specific candidate. So long as an ad steered clear of uttering such forbidden instructions, there was no limit as to how much soft money could be spent on its production and dissemination.

McCain-Feingold raised the per-donor maximum for certain hard-money donations: A donor could now give up to $2,000 to a candidate, $5,000 to a PAC, and $25,000 to a political party. But the new law banned soft-money contributions to political parties altogether.

Historically, Republicans had enjoyed a 2-1 advantage over Democrats in raising hard money from individual donors. Democrats had relied much more heavily on soft money from large institutions such as labor unions. Thus it seems counter-intuitive that Soros, who clearly favored Democrats over Republicans, would seek to push legislation whose net effect—the removal of soft money—would be unfavorable to Democratic Party fundraising effort.

But Soros’s motive becomes clear when we look at the types of organizations whose fundraising activities were left unaffected by McCain-Feingold. These were “527 committees”—nonprofits named after Section 527 of the IRS code—which, unlike ordinary PACS, were not required to register with the FEC. Run mostly by special-interest groups, these 527s were technically supposed to be independent of, and unaffiliated with, any party or candidate. As such, they were permitted to raise soft money—in amounts unbound by any legal limits—for all manner of political activities other than express advocacy. That is, so long as a 527’s soft money was not being used to pay for ads explicitly urging people to cast their ballots either for or against any particular candidate, the letter of the McCain-Feingold law technically was being followed. Practically speaking, of course, such things as “issue-oriented ads” and “voter-education” ads can easily be tailored to favor one party or candidate over another, while carefully steering clear of “express advocacy.”

Once McCain-Feingold was in place, Soros and his political allies collaborated to set up a network of “527 committees” ready to receive the soft money that individual donors and big labor unions normally would have given directly to the Democratic Party. These 527s could then use that money to fund issue-oriented ads, voter-education initiatives, get-out-the-vote drives, and other “party-building” activities—not only to help elect Democratic candidates in 2004, but more broadly to guide the Democratic Party ever-further leftward and to reject the “closed” society that Bush and the Republicans presumably favored. By helping to push McCain-Feingold through Congress, Soros had effectively cut off the Democrats’ soft-money supply and diverted it to the coffers of an alternative network of beneficiaries—which he personally controlled. As Byron York observed, “[T]he new campaign finance rules had actually increased the influence of big money in politics. By giving directly to ‘independent’ groups rather than to the party itself, big-ticket donors could influence campaign strategy and tactics more directly than they ever had previously…. And the power was concentrated in very few hands”—most notably Soros’s.

SOROS’S “SHADOW PARTY” TAKES SHAPE

While Soros’s 527s were clearly devoted to Democratic Party agendas and values, they publicly professed to be independent of any party affiliations. Their partisanship was somewhat shrouded in proverbial shadows. Gradually, a number of journalists began to make reference to the emergence of certain pro-Democrat “shadow organizations” that seemed geared toward circumventing McCain-Feingold’s soft-money ban. In time, the term “Shadow Party” came into use.

George Soros set in motion the wheels of this Shadow Party when he gathered a team of political strategists, activists, and Democrat donors at his Long Island beach house on July 17, 2003, to discuss how President Bush could be defeated in the 2004 election. Attendees included such luminaries as OSF director Morton HalperinEMILY’s List founder and abortion-rights activist Ellen Malcolm; former Clinton chief of staff John PodestaSierra Club executive director Carl Pope; labor leader and former Clinton advisor Steve Rosenthal; former Clinton speechwriters Jeremy Rosner and Robert Boorstin; and major Democrat donors such as Lewis and Dorothy Cullman, Robert GlaserPeter Lewis, and Robert McKay.

The consensus was that voter turnout—particularly in 17 “swing” or “battleground” states—would be the key to unseating President Bush. Steve Rosenthal and Ellen Malcolm—CEO and president, respectively, of a newly formed but poorly funded voter-registration group called America Coming Together (ACT)—suggested that voters in those swing states should be recruited and mobilized as soon as possible. Agreeing, Soros told the pair that he personally would give ACT $10 million to help maximize its effectiveness. A few other attendees also pledged to give the fledgling group large sums of money: Soros’s billionaire friend Peter Lewis, chairman of the Progressive Corporation, promised to give $10 million; Robert Glaser, founder and CEO of RealNetworks, promised $2 million; Rob McKay, president of the McKay Family Foundation, committed $1 million; and benefactors Lewis and Dorothy Cullman pledged $500,000.

By early 2004, the administrative core of George Soros’s Shadow Party was in place. It consisted of seven ostensibly “independent” nonprofit groups—all but one of which were headquartered in Washington, DC. In a number of cases, these groups shared one another’s finances, directors, and corporate officers; occasionally they even shared office space. The seven groups were:

1) America Coming Together (ACT): Jump-started by Soros’s $10 million grant, ACT in 2004 ran what it called “the largest voter-contact program in history,” with more than 1,400 full-time paid canvassers contacting potential voters door-to-door and by phone.

2) Center For American Progress (CAP): This entity was established to serve as a think tank promoting leftist ideas and policy initiatives. Soros, enthusiastic about the Center’s potential, pledged in July 2003 to donate up to $3 million to help get the project off the ground. From the outset, CAP’s leadership featured a host of former high-ranking officials from the Clinton administration. Hillary Clinton predicted that the organization would provide “some new intellectual capital” with which to “build the 21st-century policies that reflect the Democrat Party’s values.” George Soros and Morton Halperin together selected former Clinton chief of staff John Podesta to serve as president of CAP. Podesta said his goal was to develop CAP as a “think tank on steroids,” featuring “a message-oriented war room” that “will send out a daily briefing to refute the positions and arguments of the right.”

3) America Votes: This national coalition coordinated the efforts of many get-out-the-vote organizations and their thousands of contributing activists. Soros’s support for America Votes would continue well past 2004. Indeed he would donate $2.15 million to this coalition in the 2006 election cycle, another $1.25 million in advance of the 2008 elections, and yet another $1.25 million in 2010.

4) Media Fund: Describing itself as “the largest media-buying organization supporting a progressive message” in the United States, this group produced and strategically placed political ads in the print, broadcast, and electronic media.

5) Joint Victory Campaign 2004 (JVC): This fundraising entity focused on collecting contributions and then disbursing them chiefly to America Coming Together and the Media Fund. In 2004 alone, JVC channeled $19.4 million to the former, and $38.4 million to the latter. Soros personally gave JVC more than $12 million that year.

6) Thunder Road Group (TRG): This political consultancy coordinated strategy for the Media Fund, America Coming Together, and America Votes. Its duties included strategic planning, polling, opposition research, covert operations, and public relations.

7) MoveOn.org: This California-based entity was the only one of the Shadow Party’s core groups that was not a new startup operation. Launched in September 1998, MoveOn is a Web-based political network that organizes online activists around specific issues, raises money for Democratic candidates, generates political ads, and is very effective at recruiting young people to support Democrats. In November 2003, Soros pledged to give MoveOn $5 million to help its cause.

According to Ellen Malcolm of America Coming Together (ACT), the financial commitment which Soros made to these Shadow Party groups in 2003 “was a signal to potential donors that he had looked at what was going on and that this was pretty exciting, and that he was going to stand behind it, and it was the real deal.” As Byron York observed, “After Soros signed on, contributions started pouring in.” ACT and the Media Fund alone took in some $200 million—including $20 million from Soros alone. This type of money was unprecedented in American politics.

Harold Ickes, who served as White House deputy chief of staff in the Clinton White House, had a hand in creating every Shadow Party core group except MoveOn. He was also entrusted with the vital task of making these organizations function as a cohesive entity. In 2004, Democratic strategist Harold Wolfson suggested that outside of the official campaign of presidential candidate John Kerry, Ickes “is the most important person in the Democratic Party today.”

In addition to its seven core members, the Shadow Party also came to include at least another 30 well-established leftwing activist groups and labor unions that participated in the America Votes coalition. Among the better-known of these were ACORN; the AFL-CIO; the AFSCME; the American Federation of Teachers; the Association of Trial Lawyers of America; the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund; EMILY’s List; the Human Rights Campaign; the League of Conservation Voters; the NAACPNARAL Pro-Choice America; the National Education AssociationPeople for the American WayPlanned Parenthood; the Service Employees International Union; and the Sierra Club.

New Mexico’s then-governor, Democrat Bill Richardson, observed that “these groups” were “crucial” to the anti-Bush effort. “Now that campaign-finance reform is law,” he said, “organizations like these have become the replacement for the national Democratic Party.” And no donor was more heavily invested in these organizations—or in defeating President Bush—than George Soros, who contributed $27,080,105 to pro-Democrat 527s during the 2004 election cycle. The second leading donor was the billionaire insurance entrepreneur Peter Lewis ($23,997,220), followed by Hollywood producer Stephen Bing ($13,952,682) and Golden West Financial Corporation founders Herbert and Marion Sandler ($13,007,959).

FAILURE AND RESILIENCY: BIRTH OF THE DEMOCRACY ALLIANCE

When President Bush won re-election in 2004, George Soros was devastated; his massive financial investments and herculean organizing efforts had all gone for naught. Adding insult to injury, the hated Republicans had retained control of both houses of Congress. As Soros contemplated what course of action he ought to pursue next, the answer came to him—somewhat unexpectedly—in the form of Democrat political operative Rob Stein, former chief of staff to Commerce Secretary Ron Brown during the Clinton administration. For the preceding two years, Stein had been busy devising a strategy by which Democrats might reclaim supremacy in the executive and legislative branches of government. He began working on this strategy shortly after the Republicans had gained eight House seats and two Senate seats in the 2002 midterm elections. Lamenting that he was “living in a one-party [Republican] country,” Stein at that point resolved to study the conservative movement and determine why it was winning the political battle. After a year of analysis, he concluded that a few influential, wealthy family foundations—most notably Scaife, Bradley, Olin, and Coors—had spearheaded the creation of a $300 million network of politically influential organizations. Stein featured these facts in a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation—titled “The Conservative Message Machine Money Matrix”—which mapped out, in painstaking detail, the conservative movement’s networking strategies and funding sources.

Next, Stein set out to show his presentation—mostly in private meetings—to political leaders, activists, and prospective big-money donors of the left. He hoped to inspire them to join his crusade to build a new organization—a financial clearinghouse to be called the Democracy Alliance (DA)—dedicated to offsetting the efforts of conservative funders and injecting new life into the progressive movement. At each presentation, Stein asked the viewer to pledge that he or she would keep confidential the substance of the proceedings, so as to give the project a chance to coalesce and gain some momentum without excessive public scrutiny.

Stein officially filed DA’s corporate registration in the District of Columbia in January 2005. By that point, he had shown his PowerPoint presentation to several hundred people. Stein recalls that during those sessions, he consistently observed “an unbelievable frustration” by big Democrat donors who felt hopelessly unconnected to one another even as they longed to be part of a strategic coalition that could work collaboratively and cohesively. This was particularly true of George Soros, thus it was most significant that Soros quickly and enthusiastically embraced Stein’s concept. In April 2005, Soros brought together 70 likeminded, carefully vetted, fellow millionaires and billionaires in Phoenix, Arizona, to discuss Stein’s ideas and expeditiously implement a plan of action. Most of those in attendance agreed that the conservative movement represented “a fundamental threat to the American way of life.” And, like Soros, a considerable number of them looked favorably on Stein’s analysis and concept. Thus was born the Democracy Alliance.

DA members, called “partners,” include individuals and organizations alike. Partnership in the Alliance is by invitation-only. These partners pay an initial $25,000 fee, and $30,000 in yearly dues thereafter. They also must give at least $200,000 annually to groups which the Alliance endorses. Donors metaphorically “pour” these requisite donations into one or more of what Rob Stein refers to as DA’s “four buckets” of fundraising: ideas, media, leadership training, and civic engagement. The money is then apportioned to approved left-wing groups from each respective category.

The Democracy Alliance is known to consist of at least 100 donor-partners but historically has been quite secretive regarding their identities. Nevertheless, the Capital Research Center has managed to compile the names of some of the more significant current and former DA partners (in addition to George Soros and Rob Stein). A large percentage of them have significant ties to Soros that extend well beyond their shared membership in the Democracy Alliance. Among these partners are the following:

No grants were pledged at the Democracy Alliance’s April 2005 gathering in Phoenix, but at an Atlanta meeting three months later, DA partners pledged $39 million—about a third of which came directly from George Soros and Peter Lewis. Because the Alliance has largely refrained from providing information about its giving, only a small percentage of its donees are known to the public. Thus it is impossible to determine precisely how much money DA has disbursed since its inception. Most estimates, though, place the figure at more than $100 million. One source—Alliance member Simon Rosenberg—claimed in August 2008 that DA had already “channeled hundreds of millions of dollars into progressive organizations.” Below are the names of a number of DA’s known donees —and in certain cases the sums they have received from the Alliance. Again, the Capital Research Center was instrumental in identifying these donees, many of whom have financial and ideological ties to Soros and the Open Society Foundations that long predate their connections to the Democracy Alliance.

Additional DA grant recipients include such previously cited Soros donees as Catalist, the Center for Community Change, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Democracy: A Journal of Ideas, the Drum Major Institute for Public Policy, the New Democrat Network, People for the American Way, and the Progressive States Network.

Since approximately 2006, Democracy Alliance members and staff have been working to establish subchapters of their organization in all 50 states. Their most successful effort to date has been in Colorado, where the local DA has funded such varied enterprises as liberal think tanks, media “watchdog” groups, ethics groups that bring forth so-called public-interest litigation, voter-mobilization groups, media outlets that attack conservatives, and liberal leadership-training centers. The results have been striking: Whereas in 1998 Colorado had a Republican governor, two Republican U.S. senators, and four Republican House members (out of six), by 2009 the state had a Democratic governor, two Democratic U.S. Senators, and five Democratic House members (out of seven).

RADICALIZING AMERICA, ONE STATE AT A TIME: “PLAN” AND THE SECRETARY OF STATE PROJECT

In August 2005, when the Democracy Alliance was just getting off the ground, George Soros’s Open Society Foundations helped establish yet another new organization—the Progressive Legislative Action Network, or PLAN. Furnishing state legislatures with prewritten “model” legislation reflecting leftist agendas, this group was part and parcel of Soros’s methodical campaign to shift American politics and public attitudes toward the left—by gaining a foothold inside the corridors of power on a state-by-state basis.

Then, in July 2006, Democracy Alliance partner Michael Kieschnick collaborated with Becky Bond (who also had affiliations with the New Organizing Institute and Working Assets) and James Rucker (who co-founded Color of Change and formerly served as director of grassroots mobilization for MoveOn.org Political Action and Moveon.org Civic Action) to launch a major new initiative called the Secretary of State Project (SoSP). This “527 committee” was devoted to helping Democrats win secretary-of-state elections in crucial “swing” states—i.e., states where the margin of victory in the 2004 presidential election had been 120,000 votes or less. One of the principal duties of the secretary of state is to serve as the chief election officer who certifies candidates as well as election results in his or her state. The holder of this office, then, can potentially play a key role in determining the winner of a close election. Numerous Democracy Alliance partners became funders of SoSP. Soros was one of them. In 2008, for instance, he personally gave $10,000 to the Project.

SOROS HELPS CREATE TWO NEW PRO-DEMOCRAT GROUPS

Just two months after the Democratic Party had won control of both houses of Congress in the November 2006 elections, George Soros and then-SEIU president Andrew Stern created Working For Us (WFU), a pro-Democrat PAC. This group does not, however, look favorably upon Democratic centrists. Rather, it aims “to elect lawmakers who support a progressive political agenda.” Originally proposed by Stern as a way to prevent moderate Democrats from gaining too much influence over the party, WFU publishes the names of what it calls the “Top Offenders” among congressional Democrats who fail to support such leftist priorities as “living wage” legislation, the proliferation of public-sector labor unions, and the provision of government-funded healthcare for all Americans. Targeting congressional Democrats whose “voting records are more conservative than their districts,” WFU warns that “no bad vote will be overlooked or unpunished.”

In an effort to promote large-scale income redistribution by means of tax hikes for higher earners, WFU advocates policies that would narrow the economic gulf between the rich and poor. The group’s executive director is Steven Rosenthal, a longtime Democrat operative with close ties to the Clinton administration and a co-founder of Soros’s America Coming TogetherAccording to Rosenthal, WFU “will encourage Democrats to act like Democrats—and if they don’t—they better get out of the way.”

In November 2007, Soros joined fellow Democracy Alliance members Anna Burger and Rob McKay, as well as John Podesta of the Center for American Progress, to help form the Fund for America (FFA), a “527 committee” designed to work on what Roll Call characterized as “media buys and voter outreach in the run-up to the 2008 elections.” The leading early donors to FFA were Soros ($3.5 million), the SEIU ($2.5 million), Hollywood producer Stephen Bing ($2.5 million), and hedge fund executive Donald Sussman ($1 million). But when FFA failed to meet its overall fundraising goals by early 2008, DA donors cut off their contributions and the group was disbanded in June. Among the organizations it had bankrolled before shutting its doors were America Votes, Americans United for Change, ACORN, and the Center for American Progress Action Fund.

Meanwhile, Soros’s regard for President Bush remained as low as ever. “Indeed,” wrote Soros in 2006, “the Bush administration has been able to improve on the techniques used by the Nazi and Communist propaganda machines by drawing on the innovations of the advertising and marketing industries.”318 Soros would elaborate on this theme at the January 2007 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he told reporters: “America needs to … go through a certain de-Nazification process.”

SOROS AND OBAMA: QUIET PARTNERSHIP AND SHARED AGENDAS

While George Soros was busy bankrolling his battalion of established activist groups and launching a few new ones of his own, he quite naturally looked toward the upcoming presidential election of 2008 with great anticipation, eagerly awaiting the day when George W. Bush would finally leave office. The question was, who would replace him? In recent years, all indications had been that Soros favored Hillary Clinton above most, if not all, other potential Democratic candidates for President. But now there was a new face on the scene—a young, charismatic U.S. senator from Illinois named Barack Obama—who seemed not only to share virtually all of Soros’s values and agendas, but also appeared to be a highly skilled politician who stood a good chance of getting elected to the nation’s highest office.

In December of 2006, Soros, who had previously hosted a fundraiser for Obama during the latter’s 2004 Senate campaign, met with Obama in Soros’s New York office. Just a few weeks later—on January 16, 2007—Obama announced that he would form a presidential exploratory committee and was contemplating a run for the White House. Within hours, Soros sent the senator a contribution of $2,100, the maximum amount allowable under campaign-finance laws. Later that week, the New York Daily News reported that Soros would support Obama rather than Hillary Clinton for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, though Soros pledged to back the New York senator were she to emerge as the nominee. But it was clear that Soros considered Obama to be the more electable candidate of the two. Most importantly, Obama’s economic and political prescriptions for America were wholly accordant with those of Soros.

SOROS PURSUES A NEW ‘ECONOMIC PARADIGM”

In January 2009Anatole Kaletsky—a Times of London economics writer who opposed the “noninterventionist model of capitalism” and favored deficit spending and “stimulus packages” as bulwarks against economic depression—discussed with George Soros “the unique opportunity to reshape economics in the wake of the financial crisis.” Eight months later, Soros assembled 25 economists, financiers, and journalists in Bedford, New York to brainstorm the idea. This “Bedford Summit” resulted in a “unanimous agreement that our economic paradigm must change,” and a “recognition of the importance of empowering the young generation of economists to rethink” the field of economics. Toward that end, the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) was created as a nonprofit foundation in October 2009; its initial funding came from a $50 million pledge by Soros’s Open Society Foundations.

SOROS AND THE ARAB SPRING

The so-called “Arab Spring,” which began in late 2010, was a momentous series of popular uprisings that swept—in rapid succession and with varying degrees of intensity and effect—through a host of countries in the Middle East and North Africa: AlgeriaBahrainEgyptIranIraqJordanLebanonLibyaMoroccoSyria, Tunisia, and Yemen. By February 2011, Tunisian president Zine al-Abedine Ben Ali had stepped down after 22 years in power, and Egyptian president Hosni Mubarek had abdicated after 30 years. For the most part, the Western media—and the American left in particular—promoted the notion that the events in the Arab world were organic eruptions of rebellion launched spontaneously by oppressed populations who would no longer tolerate political tyranny and economic deprivation, and who longed to quench their own thirst for freedom and democracy.

Over time, it would become apparent that however strong the popular support for the Arab uprisings may have been, the hidden hand of an Islamist movement was also at work in fomenting and sustaining the revolts. This reality was driven home dramatically in the political events that took place where regimes had fallen. In post-Mubarak Egypt, this meant the rising influence of the Muslim Brotherhood—the ideological forebear of both al Qaeda and Hamas, and the spearhead of a movement aiming to establish a worldwide Islamic caliphate (or kingdom) ruled by strict Islamic Law (Sharia). And in Tunisia, the first free elections following the longstanding regime of President Zine al-Abedine Ben Ali resulted in the triumph of the al-Nahda party, an Islamist movement which had opposed, sometimes violently, the existing regime. In short, the Arab Spring evolved into a Muslim Winter.

Notwithstanding these developments, Soros in late 2011 said: “A lot of positive things are happening. I see Africa together with the Arab Spring as areas of progress. The Arab Spring was a revolutionary development.”

SOROS AND OCCUPY WALL STREET

In the fall of 2011, Soros denied any connection to the anti-capitalist Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement which was then in high gear, though he said: “I can understand their sentiment.” An October 2011 Reuters report noted that from 2007-09, Soros’ Open Society Foundations had given grants totaling $3.5 million to the Tides Center, which in turn gave more than $309,000 to the Adbusters Media Foundation — a key organizer of OWS — between 2001 and 2011. Aides to Soros, however, claimed that the billionaire had never before heard of Adbusters.

SOROS SEEKS TO UNSEAT REP. ALLEN WEST (FLORIDA)

In July 2012, it was reported that Soros was among a group of donors who had already pledged their financial support for “Dump West,” a Democratic Super-PAC that planned to raise at least $5 million for the purpose of defeating conservative black Republican Allen West‘s bid for reelection to the House of Representatives. A key player in”Dump West” was national Democratic operative Charles Halloran, a former aide to President Bill Clinton. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi asked lobbyist Larry Smith (a former U.S. congressman) to help line up initial funding for the Super-PAC.

SOROS GIVES MONEY TO HELP NAACP FIGHT VOTER ID LAWS

In March 2013, Soros pledged to give, through his Open Society Foundations, $1 million to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. This was the largest grant that organization had received from a named donor in recent decades. The purpose of the grant was to help the NAACP fight challenges to the Voting Rights Act and oppose the implementation of Voter ID laws. In a statement, Soros said: “We need bold and courageous civil rights strategies if we are to achieve racial equality in this country.”

SUPPORTING HILLARY CLINTON

In October 2013, Soros signed on to co-chair the national finance council of Ready For Hillary, a political action committee established nine months earlier to lead a nationwide grassroots movement encouraging Hillary Clinton to run for U.S. President in 2016. “George Soros is delighted to join more than one million Americans in supporting Ready For Hillary,” said Soros’s political director, Michael Vachon. “His support for Ready For Hillary is an extension of his long-held belief in the power of grassroots organizing.”

SUPPORTING BILL DE BLASIO

In August 2013 Soros endorsed Bill de Blasio for Mayor of New York City, and he contributed the legal limit of $4,950 to de Blasio’s campaign. Soros also gave financial support to Talking Transition, a two-week project launched in early November 2013—immediately after de Blasio’s election victory—to “help shape” the latter’s “transition” to City Hall. Soros’ relationship with the mayor-elect actually dated back to 2011, when the billionaire had given $400,000 to de Blasio’s Coalition for Accountability in Political Spending.

SUPPORTING GROUPS THAT HELPED LEAD & PROMOTE THE ANTI-POLICE PROTESTS OF 2014 (IN FERGUSON, MISSOURI, ETC.)

In 2014, two separate white-police-vs.-black-suspect altercations that resulted in the deaths of the blacks involved became the focal points of a massive, nationwide protest movement alleging that white officers were routinely targeting African Americans with racial profiling and the unjustified use of force:

(a) On July 17, 2014, a 43-year-old African American named Eric Garner died in Staten Island, New York, after having resisted several white police officers’ efforts to arrest him for illegally selling “loosies,” single cigarettes from packs without tax stamps. One of the officers at the scene put his arms around the much taller Garner’s neck and took him down to the ground with a headlock/chokehold. While he was being subdued, Garner reportedly told the officers a number of times, “I can’t breathe.” A black NYPD sergeant supervised the entire altercation and never ordered that officer to release the hold. Garner subsequently suffered cardiac arrest in an ambulance that was taking him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead approximately an hour after the initial altercation. City medical examiners later concluded that he had died as a result of an interplay between the police officer’s hold and Garner’s multiple chronic infirmities, which included bronchial asthma, heart disease, obesity, and hypertensive cardiovascular disease. “I Can’t Breathe” became a popular slogan of demonstrators who later protested Garner’s death in rallies across the United States.

(b) On August 9, 2014, a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri shot and killed an 18-year-old black male named Michael Brown in an altercation that occurred just minutes after Brown had perpetrated a strong-armed robbery of a local convenience store. Brown’s death set off a massive wave of protests and riots in Ferguson, and eventually grew into a national movement denouncing an alleged epidemic of police brutality against African Americans. The protesters claimed, falsely: (a) that Brown had been shot in the back while fleeing from the officer, and (b) that Brown at one point had raised his hands in the air submissively in an attempt to surrender but was shot anyway. Thus, “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” became a popular slogan of the demonstrators who later protested Brown’s death. When compelling ballistic, eyewitness, and forensic evidence eventually (in late October 2014) indicated that Brown in fact had assaulted the officer and had tried to steal his gun just prior to the fatal shooting, the protesters’ outrage over the incident was undiminished. A grand jury announced on November 24, 2014 that it would not indict the officer who had shot Brown — because of overwhelming evidence indicating that the shooting was done in self-defense. This announcement, too, touched off protests and riots.

Through his Open Society Foundations, Soros in 2014 gave at least $33 million to support already-established groups that, as The Washington Times puts it, “emboldened the grass-roots, on-the-ground activists in Ferguson” and helped lead the anti-polce protests. “The financial tether from Mr. Soros to the activist groups gave rise to a combustible protest movement that transformed a one-day criminal event in Missouri into a 24-hour-a-day national cause celebre,” says the Times.

Among these activist organizations funded by Soros were the Advancement Project, the Center for Community Change, Colorlines, the Don’t Shoot Coalition, the Dream Defenders, the Drug Policy Alliance, Equal Justice USA, the Gamaliel Foundation, the Hands Up Coalition, Make the Road New York, Millennial Activists United, Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (the rebranded Missouri branch of ACORN), the Organization for Black Struggle, PICO, and the Samuel Dewitt Proctor Conference (where Jeremiah Wright was a trustee), the SEIUnational LGBT organizationsclimate environmentalistsamnesty groupspro-Palestinian organizations, and Christian social justice groups.

“The plethora of organizations involved,” explains The Washington Times, not only shared Mr. Soros’ funding, but they also fed off each other, using content and buzzwords developed by one organization on another’s website, referencing each other’s news columns and by creating a social media echo chamber of Facebook ‘likes’ and Twitter hashtags that dominated the mainstream media and personal online newsfeeds.”

SOROS AGAIN FIGHTS VOTER ID LAWS

In June 2015, the New York Times reported that “a Democratic legal fight against restrictive voting laws enacted in recent years [since 2010] by Republican-controlled state governments is being largely paid for by a single liberal benefactor: the billionaire philanthropist George Soros.” Indeed, Soros had already agreed to contribute as much as $5 million to that litigation effort, whose major objectives were to: (a) discredit and overturn Voter ID laws in as many states as possible; (b) eliminate or loosen time restrictions imposed on early voting (prior to Election Day); and (c) change election rules that could nullify ballots cast in the wrong precinct. The attorney spearheading this initiative was Marc Elias, who also served as a lawyer for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Describing himself as “proud” to be part of the legal battles, Soros said: “We hope to see these unfair laws, which often disproportionately affect the most vulnerable in our society, repealed.” At the time, Soros was supporting a lawsuit that had been filed the previous year in North Carolina, as well as suits that had been filed in Ohio and in Wisconsin in May 2015.

SOROS SUPPORTS MASS MIGRATION OF MIDDLE EASTERNERS INTO EUROPE

In October 2015—while hundreds of thousands of Middle Easterners were flooding into Europe as “refugees”—Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned that this mass influx of foreign Muslims was endangering Europe’s “Christian roots” and creating “parallel societies.” Asserting that Europeans should “stick to our Christian values,” he stated that “Europe can be saved” only if its leaders “take seriously the traditions, the Christian roots and all the values that are the basis of the civilization of Europe.” Moreover, Orban accused Soros—whose charitable foundations support numerous pro-immigration non-governmental organizations (NGOs)—of deliberately encouraging the migrant crisis. “This invasion is driven, on the one hand, by people smugglers, and on the other by those (human rights) activists who support everything that weakens the nation-state,” Orban said. “This Western mindset and this activist network is perhaps best represented by George Soros.”

In response, Soros issued an email statement to Bloomberg Business, claiming that his foundations helped “uphold European values” while Orban (according to Soros) aimed to “undermine those values.” “His [Orban’s] plan treats the protection of national borders as the objective and the refugees as an obstacle,” said Soros. “Our plan treats the protection of refugees as the objective and national borders as the obstacle.”

EMAIL LEAK REVEALS SOROS’S SUPPORT FOR ANTI-ISRAEL, PRO-ISLAMIST GROUPS

On August 13, 2016, an anonymously-run website (dcleaks.com) released more than 2,500 confidential files from Soros’s Open Society Foundations (OSF), containing evidence of funding that OSF had given to anti-Israel and pro-Islamist organizations. Among the leaked files was an OSF internal memo from 2011 titled “Extreme Polarization and Breakdown in Civic Discourse,” which lamented America’s rising “xenophobia and intolerance,” and discussed a $200,000 grant that OSF had awarded to the Center for American Progress (CAP) to “research and track the activities” of groups (like the Middle East Forum) which contend that radical Islam poses a grave threat to America. Later in 2011, CAP published a 138-page report, Fear, Inc.: The Roots of the Islamophobia Network in America, whose stated objective was to “expose—and marginalize—the influence of” the “sinister,” “hateful,” “purposively deceptive,” “bigoted,” and “racist” individuals and groups that, according to CAP, are part of an “Islamophobia network in America.” These include what CAP describes as “misinformation experts,” “anti-Muslim bigots,” “political players,” “right-wing media,” “religious right” zealots, and “radical ideologues” who intentionally “mischaracteriz[e] Islam,” “peddl[e] hate and fear of Muslims,” and “rav[e]” about the “overhyped dangers” of Sharia Law, so as to “fan the flames of Islamophobia.”

EMAIL LEAK REVEALS SOROS’S SUPPORT FOR OPEN BORDERS AND HIS DESIRE TO INFLUENCE FOREIGN POLITICS

Another OSF email made public (in August 2016) by dcleaks.com asserted that the refugee crisis which was causing countless thousands of people from war- and terrorism-ravaged nations in the Middle East and North Africa to relocate to Europe and the United States, should be accepted as “the new normal.” Entitled “Migration Governance and Enforcement Portfolio Review,” this memo was written by Anna Crowley, the Program Officer of OSF’s International Migration Initiative, and Kate Rosin, a Program Specialist for the same initiative. These authors wrote how the refugee crisis was not only “opening new opportunities” for “coordination and collaboration” with other wealthy donors, and they praised efforts to “take advantage of momentum created by the current crisis to shape conversations about rethinking migration governance.” They had in mind “institutional reforms to global migration governance.” To that end, their International Migration Initiative helped fund the work of the Columbia Global Policy Initiative, host of the secretariat for Peter Sutherland, the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative on International Migration. (Sutherland is an open-borders fundamentalist who, at a reception held on October 22, 2015 to honor the 70th anniversary of the United Nations, claimed that caps on refugees enforced by certain countries in Europe were “directly reminiscent of the type of caps that took place under the Reich [against] the Jewish population.” In an October 2015 interview with UN News CentreSutherland derided the very notion of national sovereignty, saying that governments must “recognize that sovereignty is an illusion … that has to be put behind us,” and that “the days of hiding behind borders and fences are long gone.”) Crowley and Rosin praised the “elite-level behind-the-scenes advocacy through Peter Sutherland,” which they believed would influence the outcome of the September 2016 summits on migrants and refugees at the United Nations, one of which was to be led by President Obama.

Yet another leaked memo made it clear that Soros’s group was considering using journalists to push out the narrative on Ukraine that Soros wanted in support of the Kiev regime. It discussed the pros and cons of offering selected journalists “long stay reporting trips in Ukraine” while retaining “a veto on stories we think are counterproductive.” Other leaked documents revealed that Soros, behind the scenes, was simultaneously pushing for the U.S. to provide more lethal weapons to the Kiev government while offering to use his influence to help prop up the country’s finances.

In one draft memo, which Soros signed “George Soros–A self-appointed advocate of the new Ukraine, March 12, 2015,” Soros advocated that “Ukraine’s allies should treat Ukraine as a defense priority.” He also pushed for a “radical reform program,” offering very specific political and economic prescriptions, backed by “the Ukrainian branch of the Soros Foundations.” This Ukrainian branch, known as the Renaissance Foundation, was reportedly paying headhunters to find suitable individuals to work in the Ukrainian government, even if they came from Ukrainian communities as far away as the U.S. and Canada. Soros’s foundation may also have been helping to pay the salaries of some Ukrainian ministers.

Soros was also looking for the U.S. and the European Union to help bail out Ukraine’s financial system. In a letter dated December 23, 2014 to Ukraine’s president and prime minister, Soros discussed the need to pull together a multibillion dollar commitment from the European Council, which could then be used to persuade the Federal Reserve to extend a three-month swap arrangement with the National Bank of Ukraine. “I am ready to call Jack Lew of the US Treasury to sound him out about the swap agreement,” Soros wrote.

In the meantime, Soros was making sure that he would be in a position to profit from a more stabilized Ukraine. In November 2015, it was announced that Soros’s Ukrainian Redevelopment Fund would be investing in a fund sponsored by Dragon Capital to invest in Ukraine. Through that vehicle, Soros’s Ukrainian Redevelopment Fund invested in Ukrainian software developer Ciklum Holding Ltd. It acquired the stake from Horizon Capital, an investment firm founded by Natalie Jaresko, who was serving at the time as Ukraine’s finance minister. Jaresko was a U.S. citizen of Ukrainian descent who had once worked in the U.S. State Department. She became a Ukrainian citizen in December 2014, the same time she became finance minister.

Finally, to bring things around full circle, some leaked emails revealed that Soros saw an opportunity for Ukraine to help the European Union alleviate its refugee crisis by taking in some of the refugees in return for financial aid.

EMAIL LEAK REVEALS SOROS’S DESIRE TO REGULATE THE INTERNET IN A MANNER THAT FAVORED HIS POLITICAL AGENDAS

On August 29, 2016, the The Daily Caller reported: “An internal proposed strategy from George Soros’s Open Society Justice Initiative calls for international regulation of private actors’ decisions on ‘what information is taken off the Internet and what may remain.’ Those regulations, the document notes, should favor ‘those most supportive of open society.’” According to the OSF website, “The Open Society Justice Initiative uses law to protect and empower people around the world, supporting the values and work of the Open Society Foundations.” The proposal cited by The Daily Caller was part of a 34-page document titled “2014 Proposed strategy,” which spelled out the Initiative’s goals for 2014-17.

SOROS PLAYS KEY ROLE IN SUPPORTING “WOMEN’S MARCH ON WASHINGTON”

Soros played a significant role in funding the “Women’s March on Washington” which was held on January 21, 2017 to protest the agendas and policies of the newly elected president, Donald Trump. News outlets like the Guardian characterized the event as a “spontaneous” action for women’s rights, while Vox spoke of a “huge, spontaneous groundswell” behind the demonstration. But in fact, the Women’s March was organized and led by a large coalition of leftist groups, many of which have, at various times, received funding from Soros. Former Georgetown University journalism professor and Wall Street Journal reporter Asra Q. Nomani calculated that some 420+ groups were identifiable as “partners” of the Women’s March, and that Soros has funded, or had cultivated “close relationships” with, at least 64 of them. The Women’s March “partners” that had previously received grants through Soros’s Open Society Foundations and its related philanthropies — or that were otherwise allied with Soros and his foundations — included the following:

SOROS’S EFFORT TO INSTALL DEMOCRATIC ATTORNEYS GENERAL

In November 2017, journalist Matthew Vadum reported the following:

George Soros’s push to radically reshape the judiciary and elect extremist district attorneys across the country to weaken law enforcement and protect lawless sanctuary cities is bearing fruit.

Soros has been pouring money into local elections because he supports local efforts to resist U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and wants to cripple police in order to advance the neo-Marxist abstraction known as social justice that simplistically breaks the world down into race, class, and sex or gender….

Soros wants prosecutors to empty prisons and coddle the prisoners who remain, scale back drug prosecutions, lower bail, and eliminate alleged racial disparities in sentencing, among other things.

Getting people who share Soros’s worldview into public office at every level is key to promoting his ugly vision of how America, which he calls “the main obstacle to a stable and just world order,” should look.

Soros’s backing helped elect radical leftist Lawrence (Larry) Krasner (D) as Philadelphia DA this month. Krasner, who quipped that his track record as a civil rights lawyer made him “completely unelectable,” somehow managed to best seven other candidates in the primary election.

“Krasner, who has represented Occupy Philadelphia and Black Lives Matter, and has sued the police department more than 75 times, had a major fundraising advantage that was provided almost exclusively by Soros,” the indispensable Joe Schoffstall reported at the Washington Free Beacon.

On the campaign trail, Krasner promised never to seek the death penalty in any criminal case and to keep Philadelphia a lawless sanctuary city. A segment of his platform titled “Resist the Trump Administration” spelled out his plan to “protect immigrants,” “reject the drug war,” and “stand up to police misconduct.”

“As District Attorney, he will work to maintain Philadelphia as a ‘sanctuary city’ and protect the Fourth Amendment rights of all residents, cooperating with federal authorities only to the degree required by law,” according to his campaign website.

“Because legal proceedings can affect the status of immigrants and therefore relations between communities and law enforcement, Larry will take those effects into account when making prosecutorial decisions and setting prosecutorial policy. He will oppose renewal of ICE’s access to the PARS database, a city police database used by ICE to identify ‘deportable’ immigrants.”

In April, Soros gave $1.45 million to the Philadelphia Justice and Public Safety PAC, which was created to support Krasner and listed its address as the Democrat law firm Perkins Coie in the nation’s capital. Soros threw another $214,000 the super PAC’s way in May, bringing his pro-Krasner donations to $1.7 million, “an unusual[ly] high [amount] for the average district attorney race.” It was also the first time a PAC had ever backed a candidate for Philly DA….

The Soros modus operandi is the same in almost every locality, Schoffstall observes. “The financier will establish political action committees, pour money into local races, then turn around and shut them down once the election is over.”

Last year Soros bankrolled the Texas Safety and Justice PAC and threw his support behind Morris Overstreet in the Democrat primary for district attorney in Harris County, Texas, which includes Houston.

When Overstreet, a former judge who was the first black elected to statewide office in Texas since Reconstruction, lost to Kim Ogg, a white woman, Soros put his money on Ogg. Soros associates developed her television ads, and with $878,000 from Soros’s custom-made PAC, she took out the GOP office-holder, Devon Anderson, in the general election.

As a Daily Signal article almost a year ago stated: “On Jan. 1, Ogg will begin to try fulfilling the vision she ran on, promising a ‘significant culture change’ defined by taking a more lenient approach to marijuana possession cases, focusing tax dollars on punishing violent criminals, and making it easier for defendants to get out of jail on bond in a county where 70 percent of inmates cannot afford to free themselves before trial.”

According to a Daily Signal analysis, in the 2016 election cycle Soros shelled out almost $11 million in 12 DA races. Democrat candidates backed by Soros ended up winning in 10 of those dozen contests. Soros has also funded district attorney candidates in Florida, Illinois, Mississippi, Louisiana, and New Mexico.

SOROS TRANSFERS $18 BILLION TO HIS FOUNDATIONS

In October 2017, it was reported that over the preceding few years, Soros had quietly transferred $18 billion of his $24.6 billion in personal assets to OSF, thereby making OSF the second-largest U.S.-based philanthropy (behind only the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation).

George Soros on America: In His Own Words

i) Introduction
ii) George Soros on America
iii) George Soros the Writer and Political Activist
iv) George Soros the Man

This piece relies extensively on George Soros’s own words. Of course that’s not to say that there’s no commentary on those words or that the words weren’t selected. That said, these statements of the obvious (i.e., about political writing) can also be applied to all the positive takes on Soros (such as those in Bloomberg or the BBC) or indeed to any political subject ever written about. So of course the words have been chosen and of course they’ve been commented upon. (If readers want Soros unadulterated, then I suggest that they buy one of his many books. Indeed many of the links in this piece take you straight to Soros’s own writings.)

The first section states the rather obvious fact that Soros is deeply unhappy with America as it is. (Soros wants America to be radically different.) The second section deals specifically with Soros’s writings as they’re reflected — and sometimes unreflected — in his political activism and the political groups he’s connected to. Finally, there’s a section on Soros the man — or, more correctly, on how Soros sees himself.

Soros on America

Many Americans believe that George Soros is deeply “anti-American”. Of course Soros himself would strongly deny this. Indeed he does deny it in his writings and interviews. Though perhaps that’s because Soros’s personal America — America as he wants it to be — isn’t what he’s against. What Soros is against is America as it is and what it has been, not what he wants it to be.

Soros (as many people know) is also very anti-Donald Trump. He was also very anti-George W. Bush. Soros (as many people also know) wasn’t anti-Obama. Why? Because Obama’s America squared fairly well with Soros’s own America. Then again, Soros still believes that Obama didn’t go far enough. Soros has argued that Obama would have needed more terms in office to go far enough.

Not that Soros is critical of America in precisely the same ways that, say, young Marxists or progressives are critical. In other words, Soros’s position is more sophisticated than typical (leftwing) anti-Americanism; even if it’s the case that he’s very happy to fund and support many groups and individuals who take an extremely unsophisticated — and indeed violent — approach to America.

Soros was at his most extreme on America (in 2006) when he said the following:

“The main obstacle to a stable and just world order is the United States. This is a harsh — indeed, for me, painful — thing to say, but unfortunately I am convinced it is true.”

Typically (for Soros) he qualifies his anti-Americanism with that central clause: “This is a harsh — indeed, for me, painful — thing to say.” Yet if he genuinely believes that the United States is the “main obstacle to a stable and just world order”, then you may wonder how genuinely “painful” it would be for Soros “to say” that.

Soros also offers his very own solutions to the painful problem that is America. This also explains why he funds numerous groups and individuals who and which are intent on destroying America as we know it. He says:

“Changing the attitude and policies of the United States remains my top priority.”

Is that, then, why he funds (if indirectly — he’s a businessman, remember?) Black Lives Matter? Is Soros “changing the attitude and policies of the United States” by funding (if indirectly) Black Lives Matter? Why not? This group — amongst the many other groups Soros funds — also wants to change the United States. Indeed the activist group By Any Means Necessary (BAMN), as another example, wants to change America by any means necessary. (See the link between BAMN and Soros in this article.) And considering Soros’ s huge influence, he too wants to change America by any means necessary. Indeed he even comes very close to stating that himself.

Soros the Writer and Political Activist

In the words of the “political pundit” Matt Welch (writing in 2003), George Soros “has a long and storied track record of being all villains to all people”. This same writer also finds something that’s a little worrying and self-contradictory about many of these portrayals of the billionaire “villain”. For example, he concludes by saying the following:

“Thus we now have the spectacle of one of the world’s most active and influential anti-communists (not to mention one of its most successful capitalists) being tarred as a particularly dangerous friend of Marx and Lenin.”

On the surface it seems that it is indeed a contradiction to portray someone as being both an “anti-communist” and a “particularly dangerous friend of Marx and Lenin”. (Or it would be if the same person said it.) Surely Soros can’t be both. Yet it’s George Soros we’re talking about here! Thus, as a billionaire villain, surely he can be both a communist and an anti-communist. Or at least he can play both characters at different times to different people. This kind of thing has happened many times before with other characters in history. So why not with George Soros too? What’s to stop Soros from being an anti-communist on Monday and a friend of Marx and Lenin on Friday? After all, it will be seen in the following that not only does Soros contradict himself in terms of his own deeds (which has often been commentated upon), he also contradicts himself in terms of his own words.

Soros has written many books. He’s said a lot of things. Some of what I’ve read is fairly sophisticated and of interest; and that’s despite what’s just been said about Soros’s contradictory words. I was fairly impressed with Soros’s George Soros on Globalization; though, even here, the fact that he uses his own name in the title shows us that we’re also dealing with a very-vain man.

The fact that some of his writings are sophisticated isn’t a surprise. Or at least it shouldn’t be a surprise. Even the people who hate him “with a perfect hate” must admit that a villain can also be highly intelligent. Indeed to be both a billionaire and a global political actor must require intelligence and even wisdom. (A few people — who look down on moneymaking — will deny all this.) Quite frankly, I was surprised by the subtlety of some of Soros’s ideas. That’s not to say that I agree with a single sentence he’s uttered or written. It’s simply to say that he may not be a cartoon baddie. Or, if he is a cartoon baddie, then he’s one who can be fairly convincing when he sets pen to paper.

Soros the Man

It can be said George Soros’s following words would provide a perfect opening for his autobiography:

“Well, you know, I was a human being before I became a businessman.”

Having said that, Soros then went on to admit that he “used to be opposed to the idea of social entrepreneurship”. So was that after he became a “human being” again? Whatever the case, Soros

“now recognize[s] that actually you do need to mix it up [business and morality] and I think there is room for social entrepreneurship”.

In a similar vein, Soros is often honest about himself — at least up to a point. He’s therefore honest about his own conceit. For example, he claims to be “primarily interested in ideas” and that he doesn’t “have much personal use for money”. He then goes on to say:

“But I hate to think what would have happened if I hadn’t made money: My ideas would not have gotten much play.”

That’s Soros admitting that having a hell of a lot of money is a very good way of gaining political power — which, of course, it is. Certain “ideas” too can be a means to political power. Or, as Soros himself puts it, if he weren’t a billionaire, his “ideas would not have gotten much play”.

This honesty also comes into show when he admits to suffering from “fallibility”. As a consequence of this, he also claims to be adept at self-criticism. Not only that: Soros believes that these frames of mind are very productive — both politically and financially. In his own words:

“I am a very critical person who looks for defects in myself as well as in others. But, being so critical, I am also quite forgiving. I couldn’t recognize my mistakes if I couldn’t forgive myself.”

As stated, there’s an honest vanity being proudly displayed here. Indeed Soros has what some psychologists or moral philosophers would see as a self-contradictory personality.

For example, in one breath he says that he admits to “being wrong” and “fallible”. In the next breath he says that this is a “source of pride”. Thus Soros is proud of his being wrong and self-critical. (Or, at the least, he’s proud of finding these things within himself.) To us mere mortals, on the other hand, being wrong and fallible is a “source of shame”. That means that being wrong and fallible are only bad things if we “fail[] to correct our mistakes”.

Thus, in the end, Soros is “quite forgiving” of himself. Indeed that forgiving nature itself leads to positive and beneficial personal and even (political) global ends.

Soros gets even more vainglorious when he tell us that he wishes that he “could write a book that will be read for as long as our civilization lasts”. And if he manages that, he

“would value it much more highly than any business success if I could contribute to an understanding of the world in which we live”.

This kind of conceit and moral grandstanding can be found everywhere in Soros’s words and writings. Take this passage of autobiography:

“I have devoted half my fortune and most of my energies in the last 15 years to promoting the values of democracy and open society all over the world… I came to feel that those principles need to be defended at home.”

So how, exactly, does Soros intend to “defend” his “principles” in the United States? By indirectly financing and politically supporting Black Lives Matter, Antifa, leftwing lawyers, “rights” groups, etc? And by very-directly funding the Democratic Party and individual Democrats?
