Epilogue–Volume Three

When Devon arrived to work at the Vatican and reported to he boss Gianluca, his boss asked him, “Why are you here at the Vatican, just one day after you got back to Rome? You should be home with your wife. You have been separated from her for weeks. You need to spend time together. The Genarmerie survived without you all this time. I think we can survive a couple more weeks. Now go home to your wife, I don’t want to see your face for two weeks. When you get back from your vacation, we can talk about your next assignment. Now go on and get your butt out of here. That is an order.”

Devon stood there for a moment, speechless, and when he finally found his voice, he stammered, “Thank you, yes sir.”

When Devon arrived back at the apartment, Jennie met him at the door looking concerned, “Is everything ok at the Vatican?” she asked? Devon replied back, “My wonderful boss Gianluca just gave me two weeks off for a vacation. He said I have been too long away from you. We need to spend time together.”

Jennie exclaimed excitedly, “Let’s go to Greece, I hear they have some of the best beaches. The Elafonissi Beach in Crete is especially nice.”

Devon nodded in agreement, “That sounds like a great idea, Spot will love playing on the beach.
