The Andersons-Vol 4–Preface

While I left the third volume of my Anderson Family Saga open for a fourth or even fifth volume, I was satisfied with the way I left the story. However, my plans were dashed by events that transpired in the Philippines. For those who have read any of my autobiographical non-fiction works, they are aware that my wife is Filipino. Connie is the only member of the family who currently resides in the US. Connie has two half-sisters and two half-brothers. She is the oldest sibling and the only child of her mother’s first marriage. Her youngest sister, Hazel, is a single mother of a likely lad named Kyle. Kyle is married with a young daughter of his own.

Anyone who is familiar with the Philippines will know that good-paying jobs are hard to come by, especially for those who have no particular skills or education beyond a high school degree. While Kyle is a hard worker and a dedicated father and husband, he is having a difficult time supporting his young family. To save money, he currently lives in the same house as his mother and his grandmother. The following harrowing events transpired when he and Alberto, an older friend of his, made a trip to another town for work on Kyle’s small motorcycle. Alberto was more like an acquaintance than a real friend. This quickly became evident when he told Kyle that he needed to make a stop at a friend of his to pick up some items he would for their new job. He told Kyle that it would take a few minutes, so if he wanted to wait inside, he could get something to drink. Kyle, being the trusting sort, agreed, so he followed his friend into the house, where he was offered a drink. After he downed his drink, he soon started to feel fuzzy-headed.

Even though he was not a hundred percent, he had enough awareness to listen in on the conversation Alberto was having with the other men in the room. It quickly became apparent that his impaired condition was due to the drink that he had imbibed. It turns out that Alberto had made arrangements to hand Kyle over to these organ harvesters in exchange for paying off his gambling markers. Kyle had enough presence of mind to get up and make a run for it. He was able to escape the premises without drawing any attention to himself. However, his good fortune did not last for long, as the traffickers soon discovered his absence. I am not sure exactly why or how, but he was able to either elude or fight off the individuals chasing after him. When was safely away, he called his mother, who hired a cab to go and get him.

This is the part of the story that gets even crazier. Hazel, not satisfied with having her son safely away from the organ harvesters, went back to the house where Kyle’s motorcycle was left and took it back. As near as I can gather, the only reason that she was not taken captive was that most of the traffickers had already left the premises. It is believed that fearing incarceration they decided to cut their losses and simply move to a new location. They must have figured that the cops would be on them any moment. What is driving me crazy to this day is that the police were not called. It turns out that Anecia, his grandmother, was afraid that the harvesters would come after Kyle and his family. Janessa, Kyle’s wife finally won out and went to the local police to report the abduction. Kyle still too traumatized did not go with her to the police department. The police stated that they could not take a report and pursue the matter unless Kyle came in person to file a complaint. Meanwhile, I am going crazy back in the US. I did everything I could to light a fire under their asses. Including having Connie make multiple calls to her family members. To this day, no police report has been filed, and nothing has been done to the organ-harvesting gang. The only good thing that is coming out of this is that Alberto is paying for his actions. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with him giving up Kyle; it is because he failed to deliver Kyle to the harvesters and now has to pay off his gambling debt.

To try and bring the state of affairs that are taking place in the Philippines I have sent various postings to our government. I don’t know if it will make any difference. The only way that anything will change there is if the US makes the Philippines either a territory or a state. To help increase awareness of the illegal organ harvesting epidemic that is spreading across the third world, I have decided to write a book about the matter. The first three volumes of The Andersons were written to bring the current epidemic of child and sex trafficking to light. Devon/Peter will use his unique skills and talents to help clean up the corruption and take down the organ harvesting rings in the Philippines.
