I have toyed around with a suitable ending for Devon/Peter since I first started to write his story. Originally, I had only planned on writing two books. The ending on the second one provided a nice way for Peter to go off into the sunset, so to speak. However, many people thought that he should pay for all of the sins he has committed. Also, people wanted to hear more about Grandpa Gordon. So, finally, an idea for the third volume came to mind. The storyline for the second part was quite fluid and changed as I continued to document Devon’s adventures now. It also gave me a way to bring back Burack/Varga into the story. Finally, I decided to sacrifice Varga as a way to appease the God’s for Devon’s sins. Kind of biblical, don’t you think? Will Devon change his name back to Peter, or is that chapter finally closed as he moves on with his bright new future with his beautiful bride Jennie and their young pup spot? Only time will tell if they wander back into our lives. For now, we can rest assured that Devon’s soul is finally at peace.
