I created the Musings Category so that I can include shorter articles in my postings. When I have enough topics for a posting I combine them together in the form of a Randy’s Musings Article. For the most part the postings are just random articles.

From elementary onward, kids get Holocaust films, museums, and “never forget” lessons. Yet the Soviet regime’s man-made famines and anti-Christian terror? Total silence. Why the double standard?

Concrete facts: Historian R.J. Rummel documented 61.9 million deaths by Soviet democide (1917–1987), executions, Gulags, and engineered famines targeting peasants and believers. The 1932–33 Holodomor alone killed ~3.9 million Ukrainians (mostly Christian) through deliberate grain seizure and sealed borders, per demographic studies from Ukrainian and UNC researchers.

Churches were destroyed, priests executed by the thousands in the early Bolshevik years. And many of the members in the Bolshevik party were reportedly Jewish.

These were not natural disasters, Soviet archives confirm the regime exported food while people starved and reports of cannibalism emerged.

Holodomor is now officially recognized as genocide by Ukraine and over 30 countries, yet it remains a footnote in most Western curricula. Meanwhile, The Black Book of Communism tallies over 100 million victims under communist regimes worldwide.

The ‘wow’ moment: History isn’t taught neutrally, it’s curated. One horror is amplified; the other (targeting faith and tradition) is buried to protect certain ideologies still romanticized today.

Demand full truth in education. All victims deserve remembrance.
