I have written several articles on postings related to politicians. A list of links have been provided at bottom of this article for your convenience. This article will, however address different aspects on these politicians.

Ron DeSantis was born on September 14, 1978, in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of Karen and Ronald DeSantis. He was raised in Dunedin, Florida. After having graduated from Dunedin High School in 1997, he went on to obtain a BA in History at Yale University in 2001. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 2005. In 2010 he married Casey Black. They have two daughters and a son. They are Roman Catholics.

DeSantis received his Reserve Naval officer’s commission and assignment yo Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG). He became a JAG prosecutor at Naval Station Mayport, Florida in 2006. He was assigned to the Joint Task Force-Guantanamo (JTF-GTMO), where he worked directly with the detainees at the Guantomo Bay Joint Detention Facility. In 2007 he reported to the Naval Special Warfare Command where he was assigned Seal Team One and was deployed to Iraq. He returned to the US in 2008 where he became a federal prosecutor in Florida. He was discharged in 2010. He received the Bronze Star Medal to name a few accommodations while in the military.

In 2012 he ran for US House of Representatives in Florida 6th District. He won the primary and eventually the seat in the general election. While in office he served in the following committees: Subcommittee on National Security; Committee on Foreign Affairs; Committee on the Judiciary; Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the Republican Study Committee.

In 2014 he introduced the Faithful Execution of the Law Act. In 2013 he signed a pledge that he would vote against any global warming legislation that would result in a tax increase. In 2017 he voted to end funding to the Mueller Investigation.

In 2018 he ran for the governor of Florida. His gubernatorial platform he was for legislation that would allow individuals with concealed weapons permits to carry them openly. Stop polluted water from Lake Okeechobee from spreading, limit tax increases, he opposes able bodied childless adults from receiving Medicaid, for medical Marijuana but not for recreational use. He won the race easily.

In his first 2 weeks of office, he replaced the entire South Florida Water Management District board. He signed a $ 2.5 Billion executive order for water quality and restoration the Everglades. He created a chief Science Officer position. He called for the end of Common Core in Florida. He signed anti sanctuary legislation banning the formation of sanctuary cities. He favored legislation to restrict restoration of voting rights to felons holding there return until they had completed restitution.

He opposes abortion, and planned parenthood. He supports no budget no pay for Congress. He believes the Federal Reserve should be audited. He is against taxing social security benefits. He believes educational should be administered at the local level not Federal level. He favors eliminating pensions for members of congress. He is also for term limits in congress. He opposes gun control. He opposes patient protection and affordable care act. He is against Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).

He implemented strict restrictions for protecting Florida’s elderly population during the covid Pandemic. He has one of the lowest death rates for elderly despite having the largest population of elderly.
